I would like seeing Bambi as well but the idea of Disney ruining that masterpiece also kinda bothers me.

Thanks. Yeah, if they did Bambi right, I would like it!

Wow, that's so well done and such a great parody! One of the comments is that this should be aired in front of every Disney remake and I have to agree.

Funnily enough I just saw the post in the Wreck it Ralph 2 thread about the "Part of Your World" parody. This one
obviously is more purposeful and meaningful.

Out of all possible remakes/reimagines I'd love love love to see Hunchback. If only that it is barely ever touched in modern days in a major way.

Same, just to see the film get more love and because I think it lends itself to live-action in a way the other Disney films don't.WarriorDreamer wrote:Out of all possible remakes/reimagines I'd love love love to see Hunchback. If only that it is barely ever touched in modern days in a major way.

I would love to see Hunchback as well but more adult oriented - no gargoyles and Esmeralda dying at the end.

If they just made it like the recent Papermill Playhouse of the stage musical, while also showing more than telling any exposition, Hunchback would be great and a Best Picture contender.

Re: Live-Action versions of Disney's animated movies????
Personally I'd prefer something closer to the German production because while it took elements from the book, it was closer to the movie overall. The American production tried a weird blend between the movie and novel which didn't work as well imo. The gargoyles could potentially be kept if they were made to be more sober like in the German production, but if they do remain, they shouldn't get a song. I'd keep In a Place of Miracles from the American production. And Esmeralda from the American version was closer to the movie version than the German one was (that was the one time it was more like the novel than the American version).
Personally, I wouldn't want Esmeralda to die at the end but since every musical adaptation of Disney's Hunchback, no matter the country, has killed her off, the film probably would too.

Re: Live-Action versions of Disney's animated movies????
The problem with a Hunchback adaptation is that there's been so many hunchback movies throughout the years, and the Disney one was special mostly due to its animation and new content for Disney. I feel making it live action would just sorta make it like the other adaptations. Unless they keep the music, I suppose.
Although I feel the "making it live action would make it lose its appeal" excuse would fit more for against Tarzan receiving a live action remake.

You're right. It seems like all the adaptations of Peter Pan, Tarzan, Greek myths, Arthurian legends, Robin Hood, etc. have been flopping all over the place which is disappointing to me because I enjoy those stories. The only thing that would distinguish a live-action version of Tarzan from Disney from any other flop-worthy adaptation would be the music, and even then I'm not sure if it would smash exactly...thedisneyspirit wrote:Although I feel the "making it live action would make it lose its appeal" excuse would fit more for against Tarzan receiving a live action remake.

Oh. Yes, I agree with everything except I would not care if Esmeralda dies or not. If I have to pick, I would prefer her to die just because I feel it adds more emotion.JeanGreyForever wrote:Personally I'd prefer something closer to the German production because while it took elements from the book, it was closer to the movie overall.
