BlackCauldron, you need to join the rest of us in civilization and get either a TiVO or a DVR.........VHS recorders are not that hard to operate, but even a blind person can operate a DVR or TiVO.

I don't have TiVO or a DVR. In college, it's kinda hard to get that technology. I use my friend's VCR.

And, just so you know, your post came off as very condescending.

numba1lostboy, I didn't think that dvdjunkie's post was condescending...but thanks for sticking up for me (if you did that!). I'm in college too, and, even though I'm married, I don't have the $ to get a Tivo...I'm not really interested in getting one, when I barely tape anything, especially with YouTube now.

I just watched the performances (www.idollogy.com). The order (from best to worst) I'd put the girls in are:
Melinda, Lakisha, Jordin, Gina, Antonella, Sabrina, Stephanie, and Haley. I definitely think that Haley will be leaving tonight. As for the rest, it's hard to say. I still think that Melinda should win the whole competition- she's so amazing, with Lakisha not far behind- I think Lakisha did a lot better this week than she did last week. I feel that both Sabrina and Stephanie weren't as good as they were last week.

i dont particularly like gina....she sings ok....but i feel she thinks shes better than she really is....so much confidence and not much voice talent....and i think antonella and haley should go....stephanie is good and although she did better last week, she sounds so much like beyonce.....needs to stay

My official predictions for the girls getting cut are:
-Antonella (I think she's uber gorgeous, but all the other girls are so much better, and she's gone as far as she can)
-Gina (she is indeed, as Simon said, a breath of fresh air, but I think, like Simon also said, her style is too un-Idol. She's good, but I think the voters will opt for contestants who are more along the lines of the past Idol winners)
-The Fantasia look alike (she's good, but she looks ust like Fantasia, and I think all the other girls are better)

I'm not going to make predictions for the guys because I didn't watch their night in entirety, but I hope Sanjaya gets cut, because I just think he's wierd. And with his hair the way it was on Tuesday? YUCK!

They are down to the top twelve and the four who got cut tonight are:

GUYS:

Sundance Head ( should not have been voted off, but was)
Sanjaya (how does this no-talent get this far?)

GIRL:

Sabrina (this was totally wrong, Haley was not better than her)
Antonella Barba (our little internet pin-up doll got the axe, and it is about time, now we can get on with the competition)

Next week it all starts for real, as the American Idol 2007 Final Twelve hit the stage and one person a week loses their place.

My prediction is that it will be an all female Final Four this year, and I hope that Melinda Doolittle and Lakisha Jones are in the Finals. I would hate to pick a winner between those two.

Sorry about that, you are correct.............Jared was the first one voted off tonight................I got my notes screwed up, and was just commenting on why this 'girl-looking' no-talent, is still in the running. Hope his run is short. Maybe he is this year's "Chicken Little" Kevin Covais.

Sundance and Jared got voted off for the guys................and Antonella and Sabrina were the girls that got the axe.

Bill, American Idol does have some great guy talents like both Chris’s and Phil so I don't think it will be all female final four. But I do hope that both Melinda and Lakisha should be the final two. What Sanjaya is still going to impersonate Michael Jackson next week again? Oh, no!!!
Hey, now I wonder if Sanjaya will ever make it to the final two.
Anyways Sundance and Sabrina should have not been axed Brandon and Haley are worst but it's not about talent anymore.

I agree Blake is starting to get annoying.

I was shocked about Sundance and Sabrina. I thought the other two would go so they weren't a shock. I really thought Phil and Hayley were going to get voted off, but I was wrong.

I can only hope that we have a Melinda and Lakisha finale. Out of the remaining contestants that would be the best finale in my opinion. The guys really need to step it up, or they will be the first to leave.

I really like Blake. In fact, he's probably my favorite of the guys on right now. HOW IS SANJAYA STILL ON? WHO IS VOTING FOR HIM????? I'm sorry. I was just furious he even made it into the top 24, let alone now being in the top 12!!!!! He's not a good singer... by any means. He can stay in tune, but he has one style - soft. He can't do anything else. Melinda is my favorite and the only person I've ever called for. Last night, she completely changed up her usual routine and she was amazing. That's when you know you've got true talent. I don't think Sundance would have gone too much farther because he is so different, but I deffinatley felt he deserved to be in the top 12 over Sanjaya.

I was so happy that Antonella finally got the axe. She's pretty and she seems sweet enough and I did feel bad for her because she has been through a lot, but I haven't liked her voice since her first auditon. She deffinatley shouldn't have even made it this far.

As for it coming down to Sabrina or Haley, I was pretty indifferent about both girls. I do agree that Sabrina was the better singer, but nothing really clicked for me with her. I wouldn't buy an album if she put one out. And while Haley doesn't have as big a set of pipes, she was pretty entertaining to watch with her stage presence. That's probably why she made it and Sabrina didn't. You remember the happy up-beat girl and the more vocally talented balladeer gets lost.

So from here on in, are we just losing one Idol a week? If so, I really hope Sanjaya is next. I really hate having to sit through his "performance." His verson of "Stepping Out" was so boring. There was no life to it, and that is a really good song. There is so much that you can do with it. You don't need to slow it down and sing it so soft that you are almost whispering. The week after will more than likely be Haley, unless she pulls out something spectacular. I really hope Melinda wins it. LaKisha is good and deserves runner up, but nobody like Melinda has come around in a long time. There is something very refreshing about her, wheras LaKisha already made herself resemble Jennifer Hudson enough and we've already got one of her.

I'm very sad to see Sundance go. Sabrina shouldn't have gone either, she has a great voice.

I don't understand why Sanjaya is still in this competition. He shouldn't have even made it past Hollywood. I'd be willing to bet MY LIFE that more than half of the people sent home in Hollywood are a trillion times better than he is.

Oh well, as long as Blake Lewis is still on the competition, I'm happy.

I wasn't shocked about Jared leaving. I like Antonella, but I knew that she had a big chance of being sent home. I, too, am shocked about Sundance and Sabrina leaving. They are so much better than Sanjaya and Haley. Sanjaya looked scared when he sat down in the Top 12 section. Maybe little girls have a crush on him...I don't know. I never liked Kevin Covais until the performance that got him cut...I thought he did a good job on that one. Haley just seems unremarkable to me- she's not easily rememberable. I think that Melinda will win- I think it was www.idollogy.com that had a poll- 50% of the people who voted (well, 84 people) thought that Melinda should win the competition. I agree. I think that one reason that I liked Antonella so much was because I could see myself buying an album by her. I don't think that I would by a Melinda album, even though she's amazing. I like pop music, so the younger pop singers are more my style. But Melinda is amazing.

My boyfriend really likes Melinda to win - but I'm afraid she's going to lose voters quickly once the number of contestants thins out a bit. Other than her powerful singing voice, her looks and her personality are rather plain.

I like Lakisha, Blake, Chris R., Phil, Jordin, and Melinda. I think once the competition is down to them...I will have a hard time picking who to vote for. Blake's reggae song was incredible. He has so much talent - my kids will be voting for him.

I'm so happy that Sundance and Jared are gone and Sanjaya made it. Finally, we have cleared out the really bad performers. I got 11 of my preferred Top 12, with the only upset being Sabrina going home instead of Haley.

I really liked Sundance. He sang more of the style of classic rock that has been dead for quite some time and I think that's why he didn't get through. I thought he had a really neat voice. Sanjaya on the other hand is trying to be a crooner, but his voice is to plain and bland for me. There is no excitment when he sings. And physically, his big smile creeps me out. I love great crooners like Frank Sinatra, but Sanjaya comes nowhere close to being a crooner. I don't think we will have cleared out the really bad performers until Sanjaya is gone. At least Antonella is off.[/code]

I think that Antonella's 'pin-up' pix were her downfall. She could sing, but she had the personality of a wall.

And those pictures, all 31 of them have turned out to be her, Larry King had a special show on Wednesday night, and they showed a bunch of pictures of her, and it was acknowledged then that they were her pictures and some "friend" had stolen them and posted them on the internet.

Sanjaya is really a very annoying person. I think he was shocked that he had survived the vote into the Top 12, you could see that he was ready to hold out his hand for condolensce when Ryan had that long pause and then said "Sundance, you are going home". If Sanjaya is still in it at Top Ten time, then I will know that this whole thing is a sham and is fixed like Rosie says it is.

My prediction for the Final Four is that it will be all-female, because there are not any of the guys who are strong enough to stay with the ladies through the next eight weeks.

wowo awallace i cant believe u are the only person i know that likes sanjaya...i know we all have opinions but come on...i see no talent there i dont even think jarod should have got cut...brandon has a nice voice but he sang through his nose sooo bad last time and should have been cut....i think it should have been brandon and sanjaya....and for the girls antonella and haylie....oh well....i am going to quit watching the show if sanjaya makes it another week! my predictions for the next to go are sanjaya and then phil or sundance and then brandon for the boys....and for the girls haylie and then stephanie and then gina....oh well i didnt even vote

I'm not saying Sanjaya is the best singer on the show, but he's definitely one of the better male performers. I don't equate a quiet, shy performance with a lack of talent. Vocally, he's very talented. He's just lacking the confidence to show it right now. If he wants to stick around, he's going to have to work on that. This last week was better, though, if only the song choice had been different. I think he gets such a raw deal where the judges are concerned. They treat him just like they did Clay in Season 2. My guess is that a lot of Sanjaya's support is coming from people who feel sorry for him after the judges offer totally unfair criticism. Sanjaya has been one of my favorites since the auditions and I will continue to vote for him.

I love classic rock, but Sundance rarely gets it right. I've heard him shine a couple of times, but he's had way more hits than misses. He should stick to more soulful music and ease off the screaming -- he has the raspy voice, but he's not a screamer. I think it's ridiculous that the judges acted so surprised that he was leaving after they had been critical of almost every performance he had given since the first audition. I think it was just another opportunity for them to be rude to Sanjaya.

I agree, though, that Brandon needs to leave. He's lightyears better than Jared (probably my least favorite <i>Idol</i> contestant ever) but he belongs in the back-up spot. I also agree that Haylie should have left.
