I will have to chop off my fingers as punishment for typing this up, but I would love that, simply as Maleficent is my favorite Disney villain.
I can see it now... keeping in spirit with their early cover art for Cinderella III: Tremaine back in Time, Disney has released their small preview cover art for Sleeping Beauty 1 1/2. And here it is!

Cinderella II: Disney Duster's Version

Post by Disney Duster »

Julian Carter wrote:There's one thing that annoys me!!

Cinderella III has a '3' at the end.

If it's a '3', that means it's acknowledgeing the existence of '2'.

'2' must be 'Dreams Come True'

But I want 'Dreams Come True' destroyed and not 'part' of the trilogy. :x

Who agrees with me!?
I would agree with you, but I would actually rather see Cinderella II retooled/replaced instead of destroyed. Here's how it should have been:

Now that Cinderella is Prince Charming's new wife, Prince Charming leaves her for whatever reason. Cinderella is introduced to Prudence and all of that, getting used to being a princess, and she doesn't do so well. Jaq has the fairy godmother make him human so he can console Cinderella better, since the prince isn't around, and he wants to help. He meets the distraught princess as a young man, and starts spending a whole lot of time with her. They walk, they talk, they play, and Jaq soon falls in love with Cinderella. Cinderella still only loves the prince, but is also still failing as a princess, and both the royal staff and the people of the kingdom are making fun of the prince for taking in a "scullery maid". So Cinderella runs away, writing a letter to the prince about leaving the palace for him, so he doesn't "have to be ridiculed anymore" and can find "a real princess". The prince returns, and when he discovers the news, he is very distraught. He goes on a search for her, having to rely on his love's face instead of a slipper, but Jaq is searching too(using Major, the horse that was turned into a coachman, to ride), and they sort of end up in a race to find her, since Jaq thinks he loves Cinderella more than the prince(because the prince only knew Cinderella for a little while, and then he left her at the palace). Meanwhile, Mary(the girl mouse) is looking for Jaq, and there's lots of antics with the other mice looking for him. Cinderella decides to work in the Baker's shop, where Anastasia appears and falls in love with the Baker. Cinderella decides to help Anastasia get the Baker, but it doesn't involve giving her a makeover. It involves Cinderella helping Anastasia keep it a secret from Lady Tremaine, because she would think the Baker is beneath her daughter. But later, Anastasia decides she doesn't want to keep it a secret any longer, because she doesn't care what her mother thinks anymore. This inspires Cinderella not to care what others(those who made fun of the prince for marrying a commoner) think, and she reunites with Prince Charming. While a lot of that is going on, Mary has learned from the fairy godmother what happened to Jaq, and she goes on a long scary trek with some of the other mice to find human Jaq in the village, where he is still looking for Cinderella. Jaq is so amazed that Mary did this for him, he realizes that she loves him, and he becomes a mouse again to be with her. And they all live happily ever after until Lady Tremaine uses magic to turn back time...

As you can see, I was trying to keep the theme of "falling in love with those who are viewed as not on your level" or in Jaq's case, "not in your species". Now, Anastasia's romance with the Baker is very important to my version. It is the very romance that inspires Cinderella to get back with the prince, it makes sure Lady Tremaine isn't completely absent from the story, and since at the end of Cinderella II Anastasia leaves her mother, that makes it easy for Lady Tremaine to pick which one of her daughters will fit into the slipper when she turns back time: Drizella.

So what did you think, Julian Carter, or anyone who read my version of how Cinderella II should have been?

Wow! Disney Duster...that is soooo clever! You really managed to transform that mediocre story into an important and poignant link between The original tale and the third movie! :)

I'm really impressed, you managed to sort of extract the ideas that were lying in a hotchpotch in the second movie, and re-organize them in an interesting and coherent way. Really, I wish the Disney TV animation departement had your inspiration, besides just the lust for money.

Is there any way that your ideas can see the light of day? Because if so, I take back what I said previously. I don't suppose Cinderella II can be re-made, can it?

(Well done again however on that story, it must have taken a great deal of thought). :pink:

Woah...Julian's right, Disney Duster: You managed to take a bunch of patchwork, non-related story ideas and combine them into one cohesive plot that's actually not cloying and saccharine like the actual sequel. You even arranged the ending perfectly so that part three can pick it up from there. Excellent job!

Wow, I am very impressed... Disney Duster, it's too bad you weren't working for a Disney a few years ago. You've left me wishing that your story had actually been the real Cinderella II.

That's a good revision of Cinderella II, Disney Duster. That's (almost) what I always thought Cinderella II should've been...an interweaving of the three stories to actually make a feature presentation.

It certainly sounds like an improvement...but still, to me it sounds too much like a fanfiction (cough like Harry Potter 6 cough). I think with less drama (or making it sound less dramatic) it would work. Good idea, though! :thumb:

You don't have to do that. There's a book version of that sold at all the Disney theme parks. There is a book series called "My Side of the Story" and on one side is the Princess/Hero (b/c Peter Pan is included in the series) with the Villain story on the other side of the book, upside down. It's very cute but VERY out of character and imaginitive (e.g. Cinderella is a vet, Ursula is in love with Triton). They're made by Disney, but some liberties taken were just too much to take the book seriously. It is a children's book after all. They're pretty funny too (well the villains' stories anyway) especially. The ending of Maleficent's story was funny and hinted at a ridiculous sequel.

So far I know that there are volumes for Snow White/ Snow Queen, Cinderella/ Lady Tremaine, Peter Pan/ Captain Hook, Aurora/ Maleficent, Ariel/ Ursula...I think there is an Aladdin/Jafar one, but I might be making that up...

Disney Duster's Gratitude

Post by Disney Duster »

Julian Carter, Disneykid, AwallaceUNC, and Kram Nebuer:

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!

You were all the forum members I was hoping would respond, since all four of you are my top favorite forum members(I know, I shouldn't show favoritism...). Everyone's comments were so nice! Everything you guys said about what I wrote was so kind and thoughtful and incredibly endearing. You made me feel fantastic. To be honest, I had been depressed for a bit and you all cheered me up so much that...okay, I'm gonna say it, I'm gonna say it...I LOVE YOU GUYS! Aaron had talked about a sense of community and support in these forums on his podcast and I never felt it more than when I was reading everyone's comments!

Julian Carter, it would be really cool if Cinderella II was made into something like my story so that it was at least...acceptable...or entertaining( ), but we're pretty much stuck with the regular not-even-good-enough-for-TV version(when a new TV series doesn't go through, they make it into a movie?!). I had secretly hoped that they would re-release the movie around the time of the original's Platinum Edition with a completely re-worked story and animation...but it was merely re-released in Region 2 with only new cover art. By the way, thank you for adding me to your signature! You're one of my favorite UDers, too, as I mentioned above! And everytime I look at your avatar I want to see Treasure Planet(some day I'll see it...maybe rent it this summer).

Dear Disney Duster,
I'm really glad that we've made you happy, you really made me smile while I read your last post, and I felt touched. You're such a lovely person. :) Actually I think 'lovely' is an understatement. I sooooo wish I could meet you in person. I'd love to.

Awww, Julian Carter, that makes me feel even more loved. :) You sound lovely too, but I usually don't meet people who I met online for safety reasons. If I get to know you for a long time, though, maybe one day I could see you in person. I'm just too worried about meeting strangers at this time.

By the way, this question has been bugging me for the longest time:lord-of-sith, what does your Sleeping Beauty 1/2 cover say at the top? It's so small...

Disney Duster, in reality it's almost impossible for us to meet...we live so far away from each other! You live in America and I live in Malta, Europe...and I've practically never been abroad except for a day in Sicily, four years ago. But you know, recently I've been toying on the idea of having a UD forums reunion, where a lot of the members will meet each other in person, but in reality that would be terribly difficult to happen, as we members come from all the four corners of the world. For example, SequelofDisney, you and Luke are from America. Lars Vermundsgerbet, 2099net and me are from Europe. Loomis is from Australia. HogiBear is from New Zealand!

It seems nearly impossible that such a feat could ever materialize. (sigh)

Aaaww, this is all really sweet! It's nice to know that people from all over the world can be connected with such beautiful emotions, only by posting in the UD forum!
And I really liked DisneyDuster's idea of CinderellaII, loved the plot! It's sad though that some people get a lot of reviews for their fanfics, while some others don't... :(

That was very good Disney Duster. You kept the basic elements of the actual film, but changed the story so is was better, a lot better!

Aladdin from Agrabah and lord-of-sith, THANK YOU too! You're so nice! I'm actually surprised my story was read and I got comments from so many! I guess I just posted in the right thread...

But lord-of-sith, I still can't read what your Sleeping beauty 1/2 cover says at the top! What does it say?

Disney Duster, you're really making me curious aswell! All I can see is a goofy Maleficent!! Lord-of-Sith, did you do that yourself? I think you must have drawn it with Microsoft Paint. :)

PS: Aladdin from Agrabah, we'll have a hard time tracing you from Agrabah if we really want to have a reunion. :) Regarding what you said about emotions, it's true and incredible. Yes incredible! Since I've joined UD Forums, I really feel attached to a lot of people here, including all of you in this thread, and feel you are great friends. And we became friends just by reading eachother's posts typewritten in Microsoft Sans Serif. It's a wonderful experience to get to know all of you, and I'm glad we can all share it together. :)

Yes, when I posted the cover of Sleeping Beauty 1 1/2, it eneded up being much smaller than I expected. I figured out how to make it bigger, so here it is...

And yes, I made it on Microsoft Paint.

Thanks, I actually had to stop myself from making it better. I figured the more cheap and goofy looking it was, the funnier it was. I think it is actually on par with some of Disney's more recent cover art :P
