Items too expensive; $30 to $60 box sets?!

Awh they are just dreaming; let them dream! That is what the holidays are for! But for sure if they except to get something they should have items on the list that are within the price range as not everyone's Secret Santa is also gonna turn out to be a rich sugar daddy!

The $20 is more of a suggested guideline than "the minimum" and people shouldn't feel forced to spend much more than that. But let's not all get carried away with this issue any more than we already have. The wish lists are merely to help get your Secret Santa good gift ideas. It's not like people HAVE to get one or more of the things they list. Besides, the giving part is where the real fun is at, not the complaining about what people ask for!

Also, my personal DVDAficionado wishlist was made as a reference for me, not my Secret Santa. I linked to the list for my Santa because it'd be a stupid waste of time for me to handpick the DVDs on that list within the 20 buck range and type them out here. I don't expect to get things like the Ultimate Matrix Collection or any of the I Love Lucy series, but I still have no intention of taking them off of my personal reference wishlist.

The DVDs I own are in my signature, so that should give you an idea of my tastes. For more specific suggestions, here is a short wishlist:

The Wizard of Oz (3-disc)
Titanic (3-disc)
The Sound of Music (40th Anniversary Edition)
Clone Wars, Volume 2
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Volume 3 (original series)
Star Wars nonfiction, Jedi Apprentice, Jedi Quest, or Boba Fett books

Feel free to pick something that's not on the list; I like surprises.

Pluto Region1 wrote:Well I am pretty easy, since I am a beginning Disney collector. Little bit about me. I was born in 1962, grew up in Southern California and currently live in Glendale. I am married, no kids and I have a cat. I'm self-employed as a commercial appraiser and going to school for certification. Hobbies (when time permits): 3-D photography, rum drink mixology, I run a website and I'm a pirate reinactor with a local pirate guild. My latest hobby is looking for Disney OOP titles and Treasure Series tins at local stores!
Yarr - avast young lass! What ye be doin' aquirin' yer booty... legitimately?? ;) So I take it you probably like Pirates of the Caribbean and Jack Sparrow, then? Do you collect Jack paraphernalia and worship it at a homemade shrine?

Hehe... just kidding around, Pluta! :P As for me, <a href="http://www.dvdaficionado.com/dvds.html? ... ul">here's a link</a> to my DVD-Af wishlist, though I'll post a couple choice cheapies here in a sec. ;) Some things to consider about moi - I'm 21, live in Minnesota, and I lurves teh DVDs. They are my friends, and I adore them so. ^_^ Some other interests of mine include the color purple, gryphons, stuff by Michel Gagné, and My Little Pony. That's just to name a few things, too! On to the list...

DVDs
~Winsor McCay: The Master Edition
~Ringers: Lord of the Fans documentary
~Wolf's Rain animé series, volumes 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7.
~Sin City: Recut, Extended, Unrated
~The Point (1971 animated film)
~The Muppet Christmas Carol - Kermit's 50th Anniversary Edition
~John Canemaker: Marching to a Different Toon
~Ghosts of the Abyss
~Elf: Infinifilm Edition

Books
~Michel Gagné books: <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... mz">Odd Numbers</a>, <a href="http://www.gagneint.com/Final%20site/bo ... tm">Zed #6</a>, and the graphic novel anthology <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... >Flight: Volume Two</a>
~Sin City graphic novels 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7.
~<a href="http://www.eyesuckink.com/Store/store.htm">Alex Pardee books and comics</a>, except Bunnywith #1 or Secrets of Hollywood
~Anything by Roman Dirge or Jhonen Vásquez - I haven't bought anything from them yet, but I'd like to!

Miscellany
~My Little Pony; some ponies I'd like that you can see/order online include the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... ossomforth Purse Set</a>, <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... umblesweet & Daisyjo</a> (I <3 purple ponies!!), <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... emz">Petal Blossom</a>, <a href="http://www.hasbro.com/pl/page.viewprodu ... owberry</a>, <a href="http://www.hasbro.com/pl/page.viewprodu ... fm">Silver Song</a>, or the big ol' <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... mz">Spring Basket</a> from Easter 2005.
~Gryphons!! Anything related to these floofy mythical beasts makes me do a happy dance. Unfortunately, gryph stuff is hard to come by, and it's often expensive. So if you're generous, there's this <a href="http://www.stuffemal.com/plaques_figuri ... ">sleeping gryph sculpture</a>, this <a href="http://www.kidsbooksandpuppets.com/Folk ... ">adorable Folkmanis gryph puppet</a>... or if you're feeling really generous, this <a href="http://www.noblecollection.com/catalog/ ... 21">pewter Buckbeak statue</a> from the Noble Collection. Yes, he's a hippogryph... but look at it! It's so big! And shiny!!

*... crosses her fingers that there will be some sort of gryphon merchandise for the Narnia film*

Edward Scissorhands (Collectible Tin Anniversary Edition)
Star Wars - Clone Wars, Vol. 2
The Warriors - The Ultimate Director's Cut

The Running Man (Special Edition)

Books
Hellblazer: Original Sins (Book 1) (Paperback)

I don't collect any of the POTC stuff, but there are 2 mates in me pirate crew who do (and they dress just like Jack Sparrow when they attend our pirate events! - strangely, they are both girls!) One actually runs a Johnny Depp fan website; the other collects just about anything POTC related. However, my computer wallpaper is the new poster for POTC II!

I should add that this pirate crew was established well over 12 years ago and was not inspired by POTC. The two gals I mentioned above are members who have joined since the film came out.

This must make me the first person to receive their gift!!!

Although, there was no card or note attached so I don't know who it was. The return address was for Alex in California, but there was no note saying what their name was on UD.

It was The Rescuers Down Under DVD :santa:

But whoever you are- Alex, thanks!! :D
