I'd ask you what about the joke you didn't like, but I can pretty much figure that out on my own. It was a very interesting movie though. And not automatically inviting to people who come into it with high expectations. So I gave it leeweigh to be whatever it wanted to be and accepted it. That was made easier by the fact that it was such a rewarding film. There was a lot to see, and even though it was not very deep, it gave me a lot to think about. It was truly inspiring because it wasn't so obviously overdone. It was better being underdone than overdone, like Gladiator.memnv wrote:Yes, I got the Joke and did not like it. I look at Jawbreaker as an art project that had a lot of effort put into presentation, even more so than Gladiator since it required more creativity (Jb didn't use historical importance as an excuse either). One of the greatest achievements of film itself is it's ability to be artistic, even if slightly flawed. And not to just over-indulge in pretentious drama that attempts to falsely affirm life's more honorable emotions. I guess it's easier to be distracted from that fact than I originally thought.
