Once I get the money, I plan on buying: (in this order, probably)
The Great Mouse Detective
Hercules
Mulan 2
The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride
The Lion King 1 1/2

I have to buy these online:
Pinocchio
Fantasia anthology

And when I asked my dad about Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and 101 Dalmatians..he told me not to buy them. He didn't say where he was getting them, but he was getting them. :?

I might just wait for the Toy Story 2 Christmas release.

So far I have:

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Beauty and the Beast
Aladdin
The Lion King
The Lion Kind 1 1/2
Bambi
Mulan
Pocahontas
Oliver and Company
The Three Muskateers (Mickey version)
Finding Nemo
Monster's Inc
and 1-4 of the Cartoon Classics

I figured I'd name all the ones I have in my, what I call, "Disney/Pixar animated/cartoon section of my DVD collection.

As you can see I still have a bit to go. Eventually I'll get there.

Is it just on Amazon where I can get Lion King 2: Simba's Pride? I've tried looking for it in a few music stores that sell DVDs but all I usually find is Lion King 1 1/2. Though I haven't checked Blockbuster yet.

People, the idea of the post is not to list all your movies... in any case the ones you miss/want.

...I'm so proud of my collection so far. As I said, I bought a couple of Disney shelves to display them and they will hold ALL the movies (I want). In fact, I already put them (in alphabetical order) leaving the exact space that movie will belong to.

PS

Since I don't want ALL animated classics, the Aladdin sequels, as well as The Lion King 1 1/2 and Mickey Mouse House of Villains will fill those missing spaces making the shelves full. 8)

Disney Lover - you can find The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride almost anywhere that sells dvds! If anything, 1 1/2 is the harder one to find.

Yeah, there are quite a few Disney movies that I never want to buy..my collection would be around 40 dvds (including Pixar and DTVs; not including Studio Ghibli).

It's interesting to note that just a year ago, I only had one animated classic on DVD (The Lion King). Now, I think I'm in the twenties range. I used to feel ashamed about being addicted to Disney animated classics on DVD, but my desires triumphed over my conscience.

I suggest you leave your conscience alone. I understand some people have a lot more troubling desires.

I'm missing the following DVDs in my animated classics collection:
  • 2. Pinocchio (missed Gold Collection, waiting for Platinum, have Gold Collection video)
    4. Dumbo (waiting for rumoured re-release, have 60th Anniversary video)
    12. Cinderella (will buy when everyone else does on Oct. 4)
    14. Peter Pan (missed Limited Issue and Special Edition, waiting for Platinum, have Black Diamond video)
    15. Lady and the Tramp (missed Limited Issue, waiting for Platinum, have Masterpiece Collection video)
    17. 101 Dalmatians (missed Limited Issue)
    19. The Jungle Book (missed Limited Issue)
    28. The Little Mermaid (missed Limited Issue, have Masterpice Collection video)
    35. Hercules (waiting for inevitable re-release, have Gold Collection video)
    37. Tarzan (missed initial releases, will buy Special Edition Oct. 18 )
    41. Lilo & Stitch (waiting for rumoured re-release)
Also missing Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in my Pixar collection, but have both on video.

So by the end of the year, I'll have all the Pixars and only be missing 101 Dalmations, The Jungle Book, and Lilo & Stitch (including the few that I have vidoes of, but not DVDs yet).

I didn't have a DVD player until May 2003 and started buying Disney DVDs in September 2003 about the time Sleeping Beauty came out.

I have 30 of 44

of the missing--

Pinnocchio - almost bought gold, but I assumed better version would follow
(would have bought if I knew it would take so long!)
Sauldos Amigos - may buy, still holding out for uncensored version
Fun and Fancy Free - planning on buying, find the right sale.
Cinderella - buying on release date
Jungle Book - regret not buying a 4th snow white to receive this at Disney
Store
Fox and The Hound - never seen, and admittedly afraid to.
Oliver and Company - see Fox and the Hound
Rescuers Down Under - may buy if cheap someday.
Pocohantos - waiting for inevitable sale in the 10- 15 range
Hercules - never seen but may blind buy rerelease if happens
Tarzan - Will buy rerelease this fall
Atlantis - never seen, afraid to as well
Treasure Planet - couldn't make it past the first 20 min.
Brother Bear - never seen, probable impulse purchase.

of the ones I don't have I really want pinnochio....I live a few blocks from a used cd store that frequently has Beauty and the Beast used for 14, and have seen Sleeping Beauty ($17), Snow White ($24) there as well, so I have faith it will turn up

On an off topic, I do own all the Treasures, running to the Disney store at opening of release date for every wave so far (as I will this year, also)
I watch the Treasures more the the feature films!

I unfortunately only have two animated classics on DVD because I have most of them on VHS and I'm usually not alloud to double dip. I have

Peter Pan SE (Because I did a report on Disney last year and made a couple of interviews at Disney DVD Productions. Right before I left they gave me a box load (I think 14 + 2 Box Sets) of DVD's and this was one of them. )

and

Aladdin PE (Because it was only $8.99 at Best Buy.)

But I do plan on getting Hercules if the rumors turn out to be true and it get's a new release since this is my favorite of all animated classics.

It is? If you like slipcovers so much, why don't you collect postcards instead? They is are also nice and shiny! LOL!!!

(And I have passed through my slipcover phase. I no longer only buy disney movies with slipcovers. I have Snow White: PE and Atlantis: CE now)

Mine's kind of empty being a college student with limited funds. :p

What I want to add: Snow White, Song of the South, Fox and the Hound, Pocahontas, Lilo and Stitch

A lot of my other dvds dealing with animation were done by Don Bluth (he was Disney once :P ).
