I hope this goes up for pre-order on Amazon soon, too. I would rather order it there since I have gift cards from Swagbucks plus they usually have a coupon up during the first week of pre-order. I love saving money!

I'm kind of surprised that this release is coming so fast after the original Cinderella and trilogy box set is released. It took about 5 months for The Lion King sequels to get individual releases.

Seeing as Pinocchio and 101 Dalmatians have been demoted and are not part of the Diamond line (despite being in the Platinum), does this mean they will be replaced with other films or will there just be less titles in the Diamond line compared to the Platinum?

we don't know for sure, but we can speculate. IMO, no they won't replace the old titles with other ones.

Disney has sped up the release of catalogue films on Blu-ray. dropping some Diamond titles while speeding up the production of the rest will allow them to have every DAC movie out of the door sooner than anticipated at first. maybe they are preparing for the next medium and want people to buy these editions before going for the next? who knows..

That's kind of my guess too. I am thinking that Disney is expecting All Access to be HUGE and are trying at the last minute to milk every penny they can from Blu-ray fanatics before jump starting it. On one hand I'm thrilled, but on another I'm concerned we will have more Tarzan quality releases than Pocahontas, as far as picture/sound quality go with them getting released so fast.

In an early alert to retailers Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has made public their plans to bring the two direct-to-video sequels "Cinderella II: Dreams Come True" and "Cinderella III: A Twist in Time" as a 2 Movie Collection to Blu-ray Disc on November 20th. Tech specs for the two films have not been officially detailed but stay tuned; although you can very likely it to be full 1080p Hi-Def video and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The 2-movie collection is already available for pre-order over at Amazon with a $27.99 price tag. The release will come in the form of a "combo pack" with the two films being included on one Blu-ray and individually in standard definition on two DVDs. The bonus materials indicated to be included on the release are listed below.

"Becoming a Princess: 1st Edition"
"Becoming a Princess: 2nd Edition"
"Put It Together" Music Video
"Musical Magic"

I wonder if we're all prepared for the inevitable debate over whether the colors are correct or not in each release. It'll feel like old times.

Cinderella going to get a lot I'm sure but any of the films from the Little
Mermaid back to Saludos Amigos that required restoration could have disputed colors.

I see what you mean..

http://www.dvdtalk.com/dvdsavant/s2242pan.html

Cinderella's trailer uses the Platinum's colours. I can't say that I was a fan of those but you can never know how these films looked in the first place unless you've seen them for yourself, so...

Honestly, I like the colors in the Platinum Edition of The Little Mermaid as opposed to the ones in the DVD release before that.

Final scene. it says "Disney HD Digital". I guess this has something to do with Disney All Movie Access
