Mason_Ireton-Where do you see numbers?.
And I wanted to say something,my favorite sisters is actually Andrina (Thought I knew about her only last year, when I found out I only know 5 sisters  and then I found out about her) but she was kinda ugly in this movie (She was much prettier in the original film) and her new voice makes her sound shallow and dumb.
Thought I also love Arista,Alana (Espically because Jennifer Hale voiced her, she's the new voice of Cinderella and Aurora) and Aquata (Mr. Fuzzyfinckle ) but Attina was annyoing and after Triton found out about the club I wanted to slap her.
There is no telling how much time passes from when we first see Ariel older to the end of the movie itself. I doubt it was a few days. I think what Jodi Benson said made sense. That TLM3 ends where TLM1 starts. Do you really think an entire year passed and Ariel didn't preform once for Atlantica? In the original movie, they say it was Ariel's debut performance. I doubt she went through an entire year of being 15 and didn't have a concert. It seems her sisters had done concerts before. Which also puts in a plot hole there too. Her sisters were pretty young to have a concert when Athena was alive, but in TLM1 they may a point to say Ariel's "musical debut, our 7th little sister, we're presenting here to you...". I think Ariel was very close to her 16th birthday by the end of TLM3.
Yeah,it's kinda silly saying that Ariel didn't had music her entire life.

Well, Athena was probably more splattered... Besides, Walt Disney didn't show Bambi's dead mother, but the impact was still there (if not stronger because of the lack of a body). Also, Triton is the one that finds Athena's body, not the girls. TLK shows the corpse because Simba is a child who doesn't completely understand that his father's gone and also to dramatize the crime that Scar's committed. Triton, however, would know very well what death is and the pirates are not central to the prequel's conflict.
Sure the film had emotion, it had tons of it, but rarely were followed up by active actions, which would've made a stronger impact. Instead most of the time any emotion quickly fizzled up and disappeared.
I disagree a tad. The whole movie builds up to the moment Ariel runs or, rather, swims away. She also went to an illegal club early on, thus reacting to Triton's oppressiveness. Of course, Triton doesn't completely respond with anything other than rage, but that's part of his character.

Mufasa was trampled to death. He should have been crushed and bloody, but only his mane was ruffled and he had a bit of dirt on him. So even when Disney shows a body, its not really realistic.

I think they could have shown her body and done so like Mufasa. Not show how it would be realistically. Maybe have the camera pan far off and you see the silhouette of her body slowly falling in the water. Triton swims over and holds her and you see and hear him mourn, then either show him in the garden, perhaps that is where he buries her and then jump 10 years later or just jump 10 years later after Triton holds her.

That's true about Mufasa (although the wildebeests disappear almost immediately after he falls, so he could've died from the fall and then been somewhat trampled), but I still like the way they have Triton sitting in the sunset and throwing away the music box. And the sun sets on music/love. The two movies have two different narratives and shouldn't be expected to be done the same.

I like Triton sitting on the rock too. I was just expressing a way they could have shown the body and how Disney doesn't exactly show dead bodies realistically anyways. And if the fall killed him and not the wildebeests, he would still likely have bled. First you had Scar digging his claws deep into him, enough to make Mufasa cry out/roar like that. That alone would have shown up on a real lion. I understand why Disney doesn't show it. Very few Disney movies show blood and when they do show it, its very little. I was just pointing out when it was said that if they showed Athena, she would have been crushed. If they showed her, Disney would have had her look like she was just sleeping.

Don't forget that Disney deliberately made choices to make the movie less intense (i.e. a comic relief villain) so that younger kids would be okay watching it. Showing Athena's body doesn't really jive with that idea.

In a way it helps us relate more to Ariel and her sisters too. They didn’t see a body. Their mother was just *gone*. And it's like that for the viewer too.

Can someone please get me a .jpg of Sebastian smiling as he realizes what he can do after he accidentally escapes from jail? I'd like to use it as a facebook button.

By the way, I watched this movie with my better half (God love 'im, he loves Disney as much as I do) and at one point his brother came into the room and sat on the PS3 controller. We watched a good five minutes of the actual move in 1.5-fast-forward. Including the part where Triton says "I WILL NOT HAVE MUSIC IN MY KINGDOM!" We made fun of that for a good long while.
Man has a dream
And that's the start
He follows his dream
With mind and heart
And when it becomes a reality
It's a dream come true
For you and me!

Lemme know if not. ;) And if you need them slightly bigger (1019x595), tell me. ;)

Anyway, I watched TLM3 again on Friday night, and to my surprise, I wasn't as upset with it as I was the first time. I guess it was just that I was expecting something epic the first time around, and then the second time, I just enjoyed it for what it was. Go figure.

I think instead of the ship smashing her, they should have a harpoon hit her. It could have looked like the way Kokoum died in Pocahontas....and then she dies in Tritons arms...oh dramatic. But then the age range would have been like...6-13 and not 3-10.

If Harpoon hit her, wouldn't the harpoon be stuck on her?

Not to mention the big hole across her body...

so what? it wouldn't have made her seem dumb as waiting for the ship to come squash her. :P instead of gasping in awe swim away woman!

It could have looked like an arrow just went in her back, and like you never saw her actually die or it go through her, you could see it just hit her and the end.

my idea would be that they actually show the ship smashing against her stomach except the camera just pans up from her from chest up and her facial expression as a deadly "ah...." and then falls back into the water where she is already dead by the time Triton cathes her in his arms. this would be reminiscient of when Triton holds ariel in his arms and survives. this would give a more dramatic effect to this later scene in the movie.

i like everyone's thoughts about how they thought that scene should have been shot. :D btw.

Wow ! That looked really cool; I didnt know UD did stuff like that!

It was funny how Jodi was like 'Hey I'm Ariel!' to Parker ... they have never met, and yet they play best friends in the movie! It's so wierd how that happens !

Seems like its UD's first venture out like that. That is awesome. I wonder how one becomes an interview for UD.

that was really cool.

the only problem was caitlin kept forgetting to bring the mic closer to her when she was talking, but that's forgivable

everyone seemed really hyped and happy :) even tara strong! (whom I usually dislike due to her attitude towards some of her work [i.e. FFX/X-2])
