Just finished watching Enchanted (for the first time). It wasn’t as good as I’d hoped, but it was still great. My main criticisms were with the animated beginning (almost excruciating to watch) and the climax (Dragon Narissa was very poorly done). Giselle annoyed me to begin with, but as the movie went along I started to like her naiveté. Her metamorphosis into a human being with depth was very interesting. Dempsey’s character grew on me as well. And, of course, I loved Marsden and Menzel as Edward and Nancy. Narissa was about the worst part of the whole film to me; despite having Sarandon as the actress, she never lived up to the reputation of the Queen, Maleficent, Ursula or even the Stepmother. Still, “That’s How You Know,” alone, was good enough a reason for me to watch this movie. That’s going to be stuck in my head for weeks.

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ "Elizabeth Taylor"
Katy Perry ~ "bandaid"
Meghan Trainor ~ "Still Don't Care"

I finally got the DVD from Target (for the Bonus Disc) and also from Best Buy (for the two books). I'll give my extra copy to my nephews.
At any rate, I have similar feelings to what Disney's Divinity said. I liked some of the animated opening, however, I really didn't like the character of Pip. The person voicing him was too annoying. I actually liked the CGI version of Pip, better.
Giselle was annoying at first, but, she really grew on me. I pretty much liked all of the other characters from the start. I enjoyed Susan Sarandon as Narissa. However, Dragon Narissa was, like Disney's Divinity said, very poorly done. They really should have worked on the CGI of that character, a great deal more. Just too artificial looking.
The songs were great, especially "So Close", and I really ended up feeling the emotions Giselle had once she realized that she loved Robert, not Edward. Amy Adams really brought that emotion to the screen.
In the end, I was very pleased. While not as great as I expected, it is still an "Enchanting" little tale, and I am glad to have it in my collection.

I just watched the movie and it was great, I got the film and it was good, but it's my own copy, I'm just wondering if it was downloaded by torrent or not. You'll never know since I didn't get "Enchanted", anyways, great film, kudos to Disney, can't wait for "The Princess and the Frog" to come out next year which is entirely animated.

I want to ask a question about the Enchanted DVDs, if anyone can help. I am still trying to decide if I should buy the regular DVD this week (I never get any cash till the second week it seems, when the sales are over) or hold out for the Blu Ray when I actually get a Blu Ray player. I love the movie though, and I have no clue when I'll get a Blu Ray player, but probably not anytime soon. So, my question is (and this will probably be the deciding factor for me) about the Target bonus disc, are the extras on that disc also on the Blu Ray DVD? If not, then that bonus disc would be an added incentive for me to buy the regular edition. The other possibility though, is that the Blu Rays also come with the bonus disc. If that's the case, I'd appreciate that info too.

Get the bonus disc, it's worth second week price.

Make sure to check that there's still copies with the bonus disc in the back. I went to Target today to exchange my copy of Atonement*, and saw that most of their copies of Enchanted no longer had the bonus disc sticker on the cover or attached in the back. The employees may have pushed the new copies in front of the older ones on shelves, or they may have had to switch them out after first week.
Albert
*the reason I was exchanging Atonement was because by the time I got around to buying it at Target on Saturday, only the fullscreen versions still had the store-exclusive bonus disc (which had a 19-minute featurette, the trailer, and trailers for a few other films), so I bought that. Then, when I got home, I opened it (it's a dual-amaray instead of just an extra little envelope for the bonus disc), took out the fullscreen disc and cover insert, and put it into a spare single-amaray I had. When I went back to Target today, I told the Customer Service lady that I bought the wrong one and opened it already before realizing it was fullscreen. She let me get the widescreen one, and when I got home, switched it to the original dual-amaray, and my spare amaray case is back to being a spare amaray case.

Escapay,
Thanks, I'll check for the sticker. I noticed the same thing at Target this morning. There were only a few left with the sticker on them. I learned that lesson from when Smallville had Aquaman discs in them at Best Buy. They didn't have any season 5 sets left with the sticker, even though it was still the week of the promotion. Sure enough, no sticker means no disc.

I was pretty unhappy with the official cover... so I decided to make my own.
Hope this isn't going too off topic, if it is, feel free to say so and I'll stop.

I'd really appreciate your opinions since this is the only Disney board I go to, and you guys actually know what I had to do to make this (Amy's came from a Thank You card and a paper plate, Patrick's came from a UK poster, James' was a still from the movie, and Susan's was from one of the draft posters, recolored with another draft poster; here's what I used.

Disney's Enchanted
Well, Vermin Friends, I love cover art so much, I'm glad to see another member loving and making it (and being good at it)! Okay, so I love the top half, and the logo, but that is it. I'm sorry but, you know how members have said they don't like the "kiddieness" of some Disney covers, with the characters in bright colors facing the viewer and smiling in all happy or mild expressions? I never really agreed with them about too many Disney covers...but I think that's what this one is like. The real cover's bottom row of characters was better. Even though the characters were in similar poses and expressions, they look more like they're posing for the camera in your version, and the real cover's Giselle being oblivious to what's going on to abe awed by the real world was a better idea, it completely fit how she was in the movie and wasn't as, "I'm smiling at you, kids, buy me!" as your new cover. She's also too big. BUT you did the most splendid job of mixing it all together to look professional, and like I said the top half is great, you chose a better pose for Narissa. I don't know how you colored that pose, but that's amazing.
I must ask, is there a bigger version of that last image, the very blue draft DVD cover? I can't even figure out what you used from that blue cover. But, out of every cover I've seen, that is the best one!
