I'm actualy impressed with the costumes and settin, epsecialy Alice's costume, hers has a elagant yet soft flare to it....not too loud or anythin, very beatuiful too.
The more i learn bout this project , the more curious I am bout the final product, I'll settle my judgement when a trailer becomes avaliable later in the year.

The Tweedles designs are very interesting. They remind me of Pugsley Addams from the Addams Family. I think they're the most Burtonesque characters revealed so far, and it's nice to have them actually look like boys for once rather than men.
I love the new pics of Alice, especially the character banner one of her with the tea cup. She looks better with her hair loose than all pinned up, which I'm sure is intentional.
Mason, judging by the first draft of the script, we probably aren't getting the Doorknob. That's just as well since he was a Disney creation, anyway. So far here are the (Wonderland/Looking Glass/Underland) characters we haven't seen the final designs for, not including a few of the completely new characters like Lady Long Ears:
White Rabbit
Dodo
Cheshire Cat
Jubjub Bird
March Hare
Dormouse
Caterpillar
Bloodhound
Knave of Hearts
Jabberwocky
Out of those, I'm most interested in seeing the Cheshire Cat (who reportedly is eerie looking) and the March Hare. The Knave of Hearts also interests me since he's the only human character left, we can assume it'll actually be Crispin Glover under heavy makeup like the other people characters.
I can't wait for the teaser trailer in September.

The official website for the film has launched, but there's nothing to see, yet, except the Hatter's hat and the "Drink Me" bottle (filled with what the script calls pishsalver):

Meanwhile, the actual banners these character portraits come from have already been spotted in Amsterdam's Cinema Expo. You can see them here with the official logo and tagline on them (scroll down a bit):

I also just noticed that Alice is wearing very Burtonesque gloves. Nice touch.

I'm shocked you didn't notice right away, that was the first thing I noticed. I really like the tagline and I can't wait for the merchandise. My Alice in Wonderland room has been waiting for new additions!Disneykid wrote:

I didn't notice the gloves I was in awe of the picture of the rose garden, but now that you mention it, it is a lovely touch. it looks like Tim Burton has really, really got a gripe on this film, I know it is a bit premature but I think this film looks like it is going to be his best work yet.
That said, I think Johnny's make-up has passed looking weird & is bordering on evil looking, but that is just my opinion, & did any one else notice the horrible colour of his fingernails & the red on his fingertips? What is that blood, make up, jam? (jam off of a cake from the tea party)
I did not realise the link that Old Fish Tale posted had more than one photo, there are some good ones there.
I have saved some of them so that I can use them as a wallpaper on my pc.

Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland
The Queen's and Tweedles' proportions are enlarged to be like the illustrations of Alice books, and weren't some descriptions of the characters stating they looked large proportions? Right?
Disneykid, I thought the talking flower garden (and the bread and butter flies) were only in the Disney version?
And you don't feel like this should have been the original Alice in Wonderland? Just with something happening while she's visiting the land, the Red Queen of Hearts overthrows the White Queen of Hearts during her first time, as she meets all the characters? Maybe she could even grow up during her adventure, like sped up aging.
I wouldn't mind if we saw her go to Wonderland, then come out and think it's a dream, then go through the looking glass, and start thinking it's real, and go back a final time to right the wrongs and maybe even try to find out if it's real and stop the inhabitants from bugging her, even correlation between solving problems in her own life and solving problems in Wonderland, but the looking glass would just be another portal to Wonderland. The whole plot would be spun through it, when she meets the Red Queen of Hearts she's secretly plotting, she even thinks of using Alice somehow. I dunno. I don't care if it would be a long movie, it would be more for teens and adults who can take it, I mean look at the dark stuff.
Sequel. Sequel?! NO! C'mon Burton you've never done sequels. We just got jipped out of seeing the original classic given your treatment, a real Queen of Hearts, a correct-age Alice, the original adventure with your imagination, even if you changed it to make a plot or whatever you wanted.
What is Underland? And did the book actually say the Mad Hatter's hat had a piece of paper with percentage on it? It's in everyone's design of him.

No, but I believe the pictures from the original book did.Disney Duster wrote:And did the book actually say the Mad Hatter's hat had a piece of paper with percentage on it? It's in everyone's design of him.
Also, It doesn't really bother me that this is a sequel to the original tale(s).
Maybe we should see it as a sequel to the disney movie?
