LOL, but it's the New DVD Thread! It's practically a rule that once we reach the 20s, we make a new thread!Timon/Pumba fan wrote:Well I think it can stay for at least 10 more pages. Episode 3:
It is as if they made it impossible for people ti buy the Full Screen verison (GOOD!) because that blue color with the golden cover look hideous!
It is nice to have them all finally but it does look weird to have the first three without a box and on top of that the original trilogy silver.

Alan, most of us get out to the stores and shop around. I picked up the "Wizard of Oz" 3-disc set for 19.99, it was mismarked at Target. When I got to the register it came up 19.99 so I just paid for it, smiled and left quickly.
Looking for mismarked things is a lot of fun. Sometimes it gets ridiculous to find certain titles at low prices.
You should get out and about and see what bargains there are out there in the real world.

Got Episode III this morning.
I agree the blue they use for the fullscreen prequel discs is horrible. Sadly I saw people picking up the fullscreen copies this morning.
I wished they had a box to send off for the prequels, but I'm sure they will eventually release a prequel box set, and a saga set sometime. I'm just happy to finally have all 6 films on my shelf.
The silver for the orignal trilogy does stand out from the gold color on the prequels. It doesn't bother me though. I think the original trilogy DVD set borrowed its colors from the Special Edition VHS versions. Cause the VHS was silver for widescreen, and gold for fullscreen.

I actually checked at my target and they were selling for thirty something dollars (YUCK!) I know most of the dvd stores in my area and none of them sell snow white three disc for 20 bucks!dvdjunkie wrote:Alan, most of us get out to the stores and shop around. Thirty dollars isn't that bad. It costs me $40.00 for The Golden Girls Season Two and that was a three-disc set.

Alan, don't limit yourself to the name-brand stores.......Look all around at places and don't just look at the first one, rummage through the whole rack, you would be surprised what you find. Looking for CD's one time in Target, I found the Metallica S&M two-disc set mismarked for 7.99. It's mine.
You have to really look, and look, and look. They aren't going to jump off the shelf in your hands. Hit every Wal-Mart, Circuit City, Best Buy, Good Guys, Target, K-Mart, Border's Books, B. Dalton Bookseller (if they sell DVD's) and any Electronics Boutique and used DVD places. You would be surprised what you can find if you look hard enough.

Yeah but by time most people search all these places, they've wasted enough gas to have bought it for a higher price, plus you could end up finding nothing. Plus, that takes alot of time to do.dvdjunkie wrote:Alan, don't limit yourself to the name-brand stores.......Look all around at places and don't just look at the first one, rummage through the whole rack, you would be surprised what you find.
