Re: Frozen: Part V
No sequel please.
I don't want to go back to the dark ages of bad Disney Sequels. (This might not be bad but it will never live up to the first and that will get everyone talking).
Disney, you don't have to milk this. You really don't.
Frozen over-exposure is a danger. It breeds contempt and Disney has a good thing going right now.

Most movies that break a billion are gonna get sequels. From The Avengers to Alice in Wonderland to Avatar, Frozen is just following the crowd.MeerkatKombat wrote:No sequel please.

Re: Frozen: Part V
I'm not entirely against the idea of a sequel, though I'd rather they not make one.
But if they do, I agree that a Hans redemption arc would be terrible. The character exhibited that he is beyond redeeming.
Honestly, since him being a moustache-twirling villain was one of my main complaints of the film, it would have been better if he was morally ambiguous, or was villainous due to misguided but arguably noble intentions. He would still need some sort of comeuppance, but then he could be redeemable.
As far as I'm concerned though, he should not appear in the second film if there is one. He served his purpose and his story is over. He can attempt murder in another kingdom.

I remember people saying that Disney was stupid for making Frozen 3D and not 2D
I remember people saying that Olaf was going to be terrible and was going to be a terrible annoying sidekick
I remember people saying that Frozen was going to be Tangled On Ice
I remember so, so, so many people saying that Frozen was going to flop and fail and crash
If they think that Hans can be redeemed, then let them tell the story.

For attempting double murder and regicide, Hans got off very scott-free. If I was Elsa I would've sent him to the chopping block.

Yet he was redeemed in The Return of Jafar, so it has been done but having said that, I'd still rather they didn't redeem Hans.

I say it would be pointless to try and redeem Hans.

Re: Frozen: Part V
I dont mind him being redeemed myself, it just be very unlikely to make any sense, unless involves a last ditch effort to save someone else from the cast & it costs him somehow. He's still gotta pay for his crimes...thelittleursula wrote:I remember people saying that Disney was stupid for making Frozen 3D and not 2D
well it probably would have been cooler in 2d but that just MHO...

Re: Frozen: Part V
I personally don't consider it the same since Jafar would've killed Aladdin even if Iago the character didn't exist (and if Iago disagreed with the idea of murder, Jafar probably would've killed him, too, just like he threatens in TRoJ). Hans is the Jafar of Frozen, as far as being the one in charge of the murder, so no I don't think he can be redeemed. He should just be grateful he's in a Disney movie and didn't end up beheaded.universALLove wrote: Iago was an accomplice to a planned murder...

If Hans was to be redeemed he would need to do something big like sacrificing his own life to save Anna or Elsa.
Re: Frozen: Part V
Frozen isn't going to get a feature-length sequel. Shorts, maybe. But not feature-length. The movie has enough appeal to allow for the sustained success of Frozen merchandise and media. Money that could've been spent on a Frozen sequel will be much better spent producing another intellectual property, effectively launching an additional franchise and creating a new revenue stream.
On a separate note, AMC is doing a Frozen vs. The LEGO Movie poll. LEGO is currently blowing it out of the water. Poll here:

I will give you, it does seem more clever (if more gimmicky) than Frozen, although I haven't seen it yet. I doubt it's better than Frozen, whatever one demo might think.

Re: Frozen: Part V
Lego Movie was a lot of fun, I thoroughly enjoyed watching it; great script, voice actors, tight pacing….all lead to a superb movie. I'm not 100% sure you could compare the two? If so, it is quite an odd comparison.
Lego movie is reverential to the history of lego playsets / characters throughout the years, just as Tangled & Frozen are reverential to past Disney Classics.

Re: Frozen: Part V
Well, for one, The Lego Movie had a way better handled (read: very cleverly foreshadowed) plot twist than Frozen, but other than that they're not at all comparable. They're two completely different (and excellent) films.
I just hate how everyone feels the need to compare animated movies just because they're animated. It is one of my biggest pet peeves when people treat animation as an single genre.
