Why not? Barnes & Noble sold Panfan a copy of Season One, and now he's returning a copy. Just because it's not the *same* product originally bought doesn't mean it's wrong, does it? It's still wrapped, the discs are still intact, and if Panfan remembers to take the Target sticker off, they wouldn't know the difference.Ames wrote:*Gasp!* Is that ethical?!?Escapay wrote: Buy S1 at Target (with S2 and S3 of course!), and return THAT to Barnes & Noble.
albert
It's not like he's buying a widescreen movie at BestBuy for $20, then going to Wal-Mart and finding the fullscreen version on sale for $13, so he'll buy that and see if he can return it to BestBuy for the same $20. That's two different products, whereas Season one of HIMYM is the same no matter what you do to it.
Oh wow, I wish I had held off on buying the season sets now. Still, the $$$ spent was well-worth it. But since Panfan hasn't yet bought the other seasons, I say he should go for it.jrboy wrote:You can get seasons 2&3 for $20 at amazon when you both, it's listed under best value.

So, Panfan, here's your new plan, from jrboy, the Amazon man:
1. Go to Target and buy Season One for $14.99 plus tax
2. Go back to Barnes & Noble and return the Season One you got at Target, thus getting back your $28.99 plus tax
3. Use the money from returning the DVD at B&N to order Seasons Two and Three on Amazon.com for only $20
4. Wait for it to come in the mail. In the meantime, watch Season One and marvel at its comedic brilliance.
5. Report back when you've done all this and we'll give you a

Although I said I wouldn't, it looks as if a good portion of my Christmas money will have been spent on DVDs. But hey, I don't really mind, seeing as I can watch all these DVDs on my new 32" HDTV I got for Christmas!
Anywho, today I went on another mini-shopping spree.

Family Guy: Volume 6 $14.99 at Target

Sex and the City: Season 3 $8.98 at Target (the case to my original copy got completely destroyed, everything was ripped and the trays cracked).

Two and a Half Men: Season 4 $19.99 at Target

The 40-Year-Old Virgin: 2 Disc Double Your Pleasure Edition $6.99 at Best Buy ( without the cool slipcover
)

Knocked Up: 2 Disc Collector's Edition $6.99 at Best Buy (again, sans entertaining slipcover

If you're willing to spend a few more $$$, you can get the Deluxe Edition, which splits the flipper onto two discs but loses the theatrical trailer:PixarFan2006 wrote:

Well here's what I saw and remember (and am looking at on the online weekly ad):PeterPanfan wrote:Ryan, what other TV-on-DVD deals did Target have?
The Simpsons: Seasons 1 - 11 $14.99
Family Guy: Volumes 1 - 6 $14.99
Entourage: Seasons 1 - 4 $14.99
Weeds: Seasons 1 & 2 $12.99
Two and A Half Men: Seasons 1 - 4 $19.99
Sex and the City: Seasons 1 - 6, part 2 $8.98
It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia: Seasons 1 - 3 $14.99
How I Met Your Mother: Seasons 1 - 3 $14.99
Grey's Anatomy: Season 4 $19.99
Heroes: Seasons 1 & 2 $19.99
House: Season 4 $24.99
Bones: Season 3 $19.99
Veronica Mars: Seasons 1 - 3 $19.99
Supernatural: Seasons 1 & 2 $19.99
Monk: Season 6 $19.99
Prison Break: Season 3 $19.99
If you're looking for suggestions, I VERY STRONGLY recommend Weeds, Sex and the City, Entourage, Two and a Half Men, and Supernatural. They are AMAZING shows.
I would also tell you to pick up The Simpsons and Family Guy, but you probably either already own them or don't like them. I would also recommend How I Met Your Mother, but reading this past thread, I see that you've started to buy the DVDs already.
The only thing that prevented me from picking up season 11 of The Simpsons was the fact that they were all out of the Limited Edition Krust Head packaging. It's kind of stupid to have passed it up, so I think on Friday I will go in and get a copy, since I need to check back for Weeds, Season 1 (I got a raincheck slip, but I really am kicking myself for not buying The Simpsons for that cheap).

WHERE was this $15?! I want this SO bad! How much was Horton, too? And if your old copy of The 40 Year Old Virgin (the one that you're giving away) has a slipcover, feel free to send it my wayJiminyCrick91 wrote: Alvin and the Chipmunks (Gift Set with Plush and Digital Copy) (I was ready to pay $25 bucks for this but it happily rang up at $15.)
Haha! You're welcome, Dan. And I have heard nothing but good things about Heroes, so I may just pick up season 1 (I've never watched the show), and maybe season 1 of HIMYM, depending on how my money situation goes. There's just so many DVDs I want right now, and of course now they are all on sale.PeterPanFan wrote:HEROES IS ONLY $20?!?! ASKWE&*GFRF&#TY!~

Yes, after getting tired of waiting to have enough money saved up to get the series box set (which I know will never happen, lol), I finally gave up and picked up a gift-set that had the first 2 seasons.
