Why are they re-releasing Robin Hood?

What a stupid movie to re-release!
Yeh, I suppose it is...but then again Robin Hood probably won't even be re-released in Australia, as the 'Collection' Edition was never discontinued. Just like with Dumbo, we never cancelled the 'Collection' Edition so we never got the Big Top Edition.

Personally I think these are just re-releases with stupid titles and clip-art covers, that Disney USA releases to make MORE money.

Hear Hear joshthesim26!

These random re-releases just tack on little Kiddy Memory Card games and Disney Channel Circle Of Star Dancers singing disgustingly bad versions of songs from that film.

I wonder if Raven well belt out a few Robin Hood inspired tunes for the
re-release.

Just imagine, in 50 Years when we're having movies telepathically sent to our brains,
the re-released version of the "Disney Classic"
High School Musical.
With trendy kids re-singing the songs and the original cast, majority of them passed on, remenisce about those two weeks when the movie was popular.

BVHE has finally updated their Cars page, even though the catalogue page still has August as its news sumary. But there aren't many extras noted, so I hope they're going to do a bit more updating before it's release.

Is it just me or are those bloody ratings logos getting bigger and bigger? They are seriously the main reason I don't buy anything in this country anymore. It's not so bad with Cars and Mermaid because the covers are bright and colourful so the green G kinda blends in but on most other things it sticks out like a sore thumb!

I totally agree... I LOATHE these ratings. I also no longer buy DVD's here for this reason alone. The old logos were fine. There really was no need to change them. The people who control these things probably had one person complain about buying an XXX rated movie for their children, when they thought it was a G rated movie!

All the colour on the covers looks way way way too bright to me. I'm not sure if it's a bad image file or if it's actually meant to be that way. Maybe it'll be a bit more toned down when it's actually printed.

But with the ratings logo and the colour this cover falls waaaaaaaaay behind the US one...and even further behind the wonderful Japan cover art!

Hmm...I was just wondering Loomis, what is fast play? Will it affect the movie in anyway, or is it an optional feature?
I'm praying they include the Original Theatrical Version as well as the Special Edition! :D

The second image of the TLM boxset pretty much tells us that TLM:RTTS is another single disc edition re release. Can't say I care too much, but still, it's an observation :) .

Those are taken directly from the BVHE site, and all I have done is resize them a bit. Otherwise, the colours are as they were originally published...

Still, perhaps BVHE Australia is doing the same thing as the US and providing art that isn't quite the final product.

Fastplay is something that has been on the US discs for a while, but has only recently made it onto the local DVDs. It is essentially an 'autoplay' feature, meaning the movie and a small selection of the bonus features plays automatically without you going through to a menu. You can access the menu, however, by pressing the menu button on the remote.

Here is the official word:

Loomis - I wasn't sayin you'd changed the colours or anything. The covers just look strangely bright.

joshthesim26 - FastPlay is the so utterly useless. Are we that lazy now we can't just press play on our remotes? Very weird concept for DVD.

Enchantress - Loving your Manger Babies signature! :)

I'll see what I can do, as there are some HUGE versions of them around. These versions are only slightly cropped (468 pixels, as opposed to 500-andsomething I think). If I can upload them to a server, I'll post here. I don't have full access to all my goodies from work at the moment...

Australian covers make me sad.

It looks like my 5 year old daughter Morag has gone crazy with her
highlighters.

Lucky I'm getting every other countries version or friends popping over would drop their wine in disgust at the sight of that hideous cover.
