Maybe we won't see The Simpsons in the parks (mainly because they're at Universal), but what about something like Family Guy or Bob's Burgers?RyGuy wrote:I didn’t read the article but with respect to the parks, I wouldn’t expect The Simpson’s anytime soon as I believe there is some sort of deal with Universal. There’s a whole Simpson’s miniland at Universal Studios Hollywood. Even if they could be added to Disneyland right away, I doubt Disney would just from the perspective of differentiation - I think they wouldn’t want people to say, “Oh I saw this at Universal.”Big Disney Fan wrote: Actually, my biggest concern is what this will mean for the Disney parks. I only skim-read it, so I may have missed something, but I'm sure they didn't mention the parks, mostly just the Disney Plus thing.

Re: Disney Buys Fox
Disney's own ABC Studios has produced plenty of adult shows, like "Lost", "How to Get Away from Murder" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live", and those don't get much of a presence in the parks. So I wouldn't worry too much about Family Guy and Bob's Burgers characters walking about.

Re: Disney Buys Fox
I wonder if WDFA will produce an animated film(or a sequel to one) exclusively for Disney+."Robert Iger also said to the investors that every part of Disney is making exclusive content for Disney+
so does this mean that most of Fox's adult aimed film library will end up on Hulu? B/c one of the things that appealed to me about Disney+ was the possibility of getting films from the Aliens, Avatar and X-men franchises. There's no way I can afford more than one streaming service.-FX Networks & 20 Century Fox TV will produce content for Hulu
also anyone else feel that this service is going to be really expensive? much more than Netflix? I read an article somewhere that Disney is catering their parks more and more to high end customers and has little interest in offering plaything to lower classes. I remember back in the mid 90's when a ticket to the park would cost me 40 something bucks. I hate how elitist they've become in the last 2 decades.

I think it was obvious that the adult content would end up on Hulu but with Disney+ getting some PG-13 exceptions like Star Wars.unprincess wrote:I wonder if WDFA will produce an animated film(or a sequel to one) exclusively for Disney+."Robert Iger also said to the investors that every part of Disney is making exclusive content for Disney+

Re: Disney Buys Fox
I would say that's cost prohibitive since their movies have a 120+ million budget on average but they are spending big bucks on Marvel and Star Wars TV series (the Mandalorian is reportedly costing them $100 million), so I suppose it's a possibility. Disney considers Pixar, and to a lesser degree WDAS, big money-makers and a source for generating new franchises, so I believe they won't be wasting them with a streaming-exclusive release and undercutting their momentary potential.unprincess wrote:I wonder if WDFA will produce an animated film(or a sequel to one) exclusively for Disney+.
Yes. If a movie is rated higher than PG-13, it's safe to say it'll end-up on Hulu.unprincess wrote:So does this mean that most of Fox's adult aimed film library will end up on Hulu? It's going to be cheaper than Netflix. At first, at least. Iger has repeatedly said it'll be priced less than Netflix's subscription fee. Analysts estimate it will be around $5.unprincess wrote:Also, anyone else feel that this service is going to be really expensive? Much more than Netflix?

What about Comcast's 30% stake? Why aren't they trying to buy that back?

Re: Disney Buys Fox
^Reading that article made me think of a question: I'm trying to wrap my head around how much of an impact "Disney" will have on these Fox projects. It's just that Disney employees will be working on these films with Fox employees, right? They'll still be released as Fox films, the R-rated movies will exist...just a mixture of Fox and Disney employees working on them.?

I mean, if its a project done by both studios, then yes, both employees would be involved.

I may have mentioned this before on this thread, but in case I haven't...
Seeing as how Jim Henson, George Lucas and Stan Lee all became Disney Legends, does this mean that Darryl F. Zanuck will become a Disney Legend, too?
