No, Brenda was an idiot to make Brave in Disney/Pixar to begin with, especially if this was her beloved pet project she been longing to create, since once something become made in Disney/Pixar, It's theirs not yours. They can do what ever the fuck they wish to the character from that point out. All of this controversy isn't hurting Disney any though. How many people do you think would even know that Merida had a coronation ceremony, if not for the controversy -- which, in the end, amounts to nothing but noise.
People will still be talking about Merida in 5 years, but Brenda Chapman ... not so much.
She looks and sounds like an artistic hot-head by the way. Let's not forget that it was Disney/Pixar who gave her the job in the first place. If she really wanted to make a movie that wouldn't be merchandised to death, she should have turned down the Disney job and directed all of the independent films she wanted in obscurity.
As it stands, she just sounds like an ungrateful employee.
