Back then I only remember Walmart doing price matching (I used to work at one of those too actually, lol).
I live in Illinois and I've never seen nor heard of that store, so it might be just a Wisconsin store.

Does anyone know if there will be a DVD only release of this at a later date?

I personally doubt it. Being that the DVD transfer in the combo pack is literally identical to the Masterpiece Edition/Un-Anniversary Edition, I'm sure that the Un-Anniversary Edition that was released last year will be as good as it gets for standard DVD.

I'd spent most of my life in IL so it's surprising to see they do actually have some there: http://www.shopko.com/locator

They're kinda few and far between though, which explains why we hadn't heard of them. But you're not missing much. ;) And one more thing while I'm slightly off-topic: the store is mentioned in Da Yooper's Christmas song, "Rusty Chevrolet." :D

Anyway, I've got my coupon printed and ready. :D

Yes, we English are very droll. Excuse me while I have an unbirthday party. ;)

I've also heard stories where people were able to get Best Buy to price match Toys"R"Us, in-addition to accepting both the manufacture's coupon and the upgrade coupon for Fantasia; making the total amount for this 2-movie Blu-Ray collection only $7. Not bad.

I suppose it all depends on the person you get. Good luck

Oh, wow. There are some here. They're all far from my area, which is Chicago and the suburbs. But at least we learned something knew, haha. Thanks :)

Where and when is everyone planning on picking up their copy tomorrow?

I'm heading to Best Buy as soon as I get off work, I should get there at about 4:45 PM. I hope they're well stocked and don't run out!

I can't believe release day is almost here! I remember when I noticed there were 50 days until release day, and now there is only 1! Before we know it, Bambi will be here, too!!!

I'm excited for Alice too. I'll be going to Best Buy soon after I wake up tomorrow. In regards to Bambi, I'll believe it when it's on the shelves...look what happened to Fantasia and Dumbo!

Thanks for summerizing the points for me. Obviously reading more would provide more details, but I don't know if I can stand to read another colour debate thanks to this site. I feel as though consumers have zero say on such restorations beyond deciding not to pruchase so there's little point in ranting (for too long anyways) online about this topic. On top of which, like you, I prefer these colours anyway and they will not negatively affect my decision to buy this release at all.

At least this expert has true experience in the field, which as you point out gives more weight to his argument. I don't know if I agree about the grain free point. While doing that to live action movies makes them look flat and waxy for animation at worst it makes them look computer coloured. That and I've become conditioned by Disney to expect such since it's how they've been restoring their films since the 1990s and I'm not a worker in the field of film preservation.

DisneyJedi wrote:Okay, I checked some shop websites, so.....

Toys R Us: $29.99 (Now, that's a bit much, don't you think?)
Wal-Mart: $27 (Always low prices, my ass.)
Target: $22.99
Best Buy: $19.99
Not sure if this is true, but someone on another board said it would be $24.99 in-store at Toys R Us, but I would double check if you were interested in getting it there.

I'm going to Best Buy, but I am going to call first to make sure they take the coupon (I've heard some horror stories). I've gotten the last 2 DAC releases at TRU, so I am surprised that they aren't in competition for the best price, since they always were before. Is Best Buy usually well-stocked? I will not be able to get to the store until 5 PM tomorrow, after work. :(
I'm going to Best Buy too. I need to get 2 copies (1 for my neighbor, and 1 for me)... Anyway they usually take the coupons for me with no problems. They never scan on their computers, and they always have to manually take off the amount. They do read the coupon and make sure it is the same item your buying.

The easiest place I've used them was Target. They never read them, and they always scan.

Yeah, I've used a $5 off any Disney Blu-ray coupon at Target before, and the sales clerk gave it back to me after she scanned it! I didn't use it again, though, as there wasn't anything else at the time that I wanted.

We're supposed to get a little ice in my area today (East Coast, USA), I'm hoping the ride home isn't bad because that's when I'm heading to Best Buy! 8)

I'm reallllly hoping that I can somehow get out to Best Buy at some point today. We got a lot of ice over night (D/FW, TX), and school didn't open today. I won't be surprised if I end up not getting it, but I'd really like to get it today.

actually i was wondering which edition we in the netherlands will get on dvd, since we didn't get the un-anniversary edition last spring...

it's interesting to hear the un-anniversary edition is merely different from the special edition, im quite curious..(and curiouser lol)

we don't even get a two-disc, just a one-disc..hopefully it will be the new coloured edition, cause I'm really anxious to see what they made of it this time..

As usual, I had no problem using my coupon at Best Buy, it was immediately scanned and accepted. In fact, the cashier was like, "Wow, you've got a coupon too, these things are awesome!" She explained these coupons have helped her pick up many of the DAC Blu-rays and she'd like to collect them all. I mentioned that I'd heard some Best Buys weren't accepting them due to some complications, and she said that was basically BS, some managers either don't trust home-printed coupons or just don't want to deal with them period.

Thanks for sharing, that is reassuring! Tonight will be my first time dealing with Best Buy on release day, so we'll see how it goes. I just called to make sure they accept the coupon and they didn't seem to have a problem, but you know how that goes.
