sorry if it has been asked before... i didn't feel like reading thru the 18 pages to see... but in the sneak peeks... Tinkerbell And The _____ (whatever it's called) says it's "COMING SOON"

i thought they were releasing one a year for the next 4 years...
but it seems like 12 months is kind of a long way off for a "COMING SOON" banner. also based on the amount of footage in the trailer, compared to what we had a year before Tinkerbell, it seems like they are already finished with it, or possibly close to having it finished.

i kind of feel like this fairy line will turn into a "the land before time" type thing... where suddenly every 6 months or so a new one is released and before you know it the voice cast will change with every new film and the stories will become lessons and then eventually they will become musicals filled with songs about washing your hands and sharing your fairy dolls.

i mean, they can't take that long to make... the characters and sets are already designed... all they have to do is animate them (which before long will consist of nothing more than making their wings flap and their mouths move ever so often.)

By time tinkerbell has gone thru her 4 seasons, the people interested in the franchise will be familiar enough with the other fairies that i'm sure we will start seeing movies where each of the other fairies gets to take center stage (possibly several times.) the target audience will love them no matter how horrible they become and disney knows that... i don't think they are going to let that opportunity pass. and with this whole new fairy line of toys and cereals and bed sets and crackers and plush and everything... i don't think they will stop at 4 films. anyway, i'll stop rambling... just my thoughts...

tommy2.net says:

Celebrating the release of Tinker Bell, the all-new movie on Disney DVD and Blu-ray, the world’s most beloved fairy, Tinker Bell was immortalized in wax at the world famous Madame Tussauds in London, Monday, November 10th as the smallest wax figure in the history of the legendary waxworks. Here’s a list of some of the miniscule stats!

- Height : 5.5 inches
- Width of eyes : 2mm
- Length of eyelashes : 1mm
- Length of fingers : 4mm
- Size of fingernails : 1/2mm
- Waist size : 1.5cm

I don't feel like copy/pasting the picture and then uploading it to Photobucket, but the picture of the wax figure is on tommy2.net...just scroll down on today' entry.

Also, I just wanted to say that I bought Tinker Bell but haven't watched it yet, and I haven't been keeping up with this thread since the movie came out...but I'll read and write after I watch the movie!

Meanwhile, Disney Toons -- the direct-to-video feature division, not the rebranded cable network -- is working on Tink 3 (with Tink 4 to follow.) A crew-member said:

"We're working on our fourth pass, and the picture's getting sharp. We have a screen with Lasseter next month, so we're all working our butts off right now" ...

There are other franchise ideas in the hopper, but I couldn't tell you what they are since I've got no freaking idea, only that other things are "in work." But I'm informed that the Tink dvds are selling briskly, so the Big Mouse will be mining that vein of gold for a while. "Might even be a Tink 5," somebody told me.

I....finally....got around to watching this Blu-ray. I was very pleasantly surprised. I even watched it a second time. I was happy with the voice talent they used, the songs they chose, the plot was good - I can't even come up with anything bad to say about it at all.

I can't wait for the next ones to come out. If anyone is on the fence about buying this, at least rent it and give it a chance. The second time I watched it through, I noticed so many places where they tried to tie it in to the original Peter Pan movie.

Outstanding job.

Over on Sonora, Disney Toons still labors on the Tink franchise. Tink One is available at your favorite DVD retailer, Tink Too is in full-bore production ... and Tink Three?

"John Lasseter saw our last story pass and decided to make changes, big changes. So things have been shaken up on the picture. We've got some new people working on it now, and we're waiting for the revised script before we start boarding again.

But the changes mean more work for everyone, and that's a good thing ..."

Then, of course, there is Tinkerbell 4 still to come. CEO Robert Iger is a believer in franchises.

I've also seen it like three times, two times on television, one time on my dvd.
The movie is almost every month on television, maybe I won't buy T2 and see it there instead! A lot cheaper.

After being confronted by her antagonist Vidia, an irritated Tinker Bell retaliates by taking a photograph of Vidia ... without considering the consequences. Now, the two must set aside their differences and cooperate to prevent evidence of the existence of fairies from falling into human hands.
John Lasseter saw our last story pass and decided to make changes, big changes.
Amen!

Upstairs at Toon Disney, work progresses on newer, feature-length Tinkerbells.

"Tinks three and four in tandem, since John Lasseter had the storyline for three reworked and we went back to square one. But I think it's better now, more focused." ... "The first feature's done better than the company expected. They're blocking out Tink 5, and Tinkerbell 6 is going to happen, although right now it's just a gleam in somebody's eye" ... "It's nice to know you have long-term employment" ...

Good to know they won't be limiting themselves to the original four. To be honest, I'm surprised at how much I liked the first one. I didn't think I would, but I'm very excited for the next one.

BTW, the full preview for Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure is on the Air Bud Special Edition DVD if you click "more" in the previews section. It looks like Terrance goes with Tink on her quest. I'm guessing that is how they snagged Jesse McCartney to do his voice. They offered him a large part in the second one.

Yeah, but I thought it was always the same one that was included with the first film, which was basically a teaser trailer. The one on the Air Bud DVD (and reportedly also on the upcoming release of Bolt) is a full commercial. It's longer and has many clips from the film. This was the first time I've seen that trailer. The one up on Disney's website is still the old one.

I am looking forward to seeing the next one as well. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked the first movie even enough to watch a few times.
