Well I live for this shit!!! First of all I did not name names, yet several members felt alluded. That tells two things: (1) Having 25 dvd is really "brothering" someone and some people try to "escape" from reality by claiming principles in a very simple debate: who's the collector? Me. Because I have what you'd love to own but are refusing to admit that. Collecting is having, that's the difference collecting and loving.
Keep claiming principles, but tomorrow I'll be buying Cinderella III and next Tuesday the two It's a Small World releases. Touche!!!
The proof is in the pudding!!!
I'm not going to enter into debates here. I'll let the photos do the talking. I'll be posting them: can you do the same thing?

Yeah that kind of goes along the lines of "Just because I havent seen all the Disney movies or I don't visit the theme parks so I must not be a Disney Fan" not that those apply to me but I've heard arguments like that before...I think if you like the general Idea the Disney Company and like a few films or whatever that makes you a some what of a *fan* hardcore or not lol.
As for a collector, you don't have to have EVERY SINGLE DISNEY DVD BROUGHT OUT BY BUENA VISTA to be a "True" Disney DVD collector. Heck you could have The Lion King and Melody Time and still be proud to consider it "My Disney DVD collection..." even if it may or may not continue on.
For me personally My Disney DVD collection consists of working my way towards all of the DAC's along with their sequels (as much as I don't want Cinderella II Im going to get it anyway just because it would be weird to me to have the original and then CIII, but hey I havent seen CII before so hopefully it's not a complete pile of trash from what I've heard) yeah Im weird I know...
Is it really necessary that you post your entire collection after you add one DVD to it? We know what the DVD looks like, we already know that you bought whatever new Disney DVD was released, and we've seen your collection a gazillion times!
I'm more than 100% sure that there are movies on that shelf that you don't even like. So the question begs to be asked, why do you buy them?
HoHum...someone has a big head lol..to be Honest...I don't think anyone truley wishes they had what you have because to them it just show's how cocky and prideful a person can be.
I may be new around here, and my opinion may cound for nothing, but Reyquila you're coming off as a real jerk.
So you have pretty much every DVD ever released by Buena Vista. Good for you. You've blown hundreds of dollars on crap like Disney channel shows and stuff meant for 5 year olds. Do you really get any enjoyment from "higglytown heroes" or whatever the heck it's called? Because I though that's what DVD's are supposed to be; something that provides some form of entertainment.
There are also alot of people out there who arn't in the financial situation to buy every single release even if they wanted to. I know I don't have the money to go out and buy every DVD that Disney releases. Hell I don't have the money to go out and buy every Disney DVD I want. Does that make me, or anybody else in a similar situation less of a fan or collector? I buy what I can when I can. I've only got a collection of 20 DAC and 3 Pixar movies with a few live action ones sprinkled in. And almost all of them were purchased second hand. I'm very proud of my collection regardless of its size. It has a considerable amount of OOP titles that took me a long time to find (not using the net). It also only contains titles I like and will revist time and time again.
Judging someone's fandom by the size of their collection is very rude and shallow. Just because you have the biggest collection doesn't mean you're the biggest fan. It's your devotion to learning about the films, not just owning them, that makes you a true fan. And showing it off is just like a guys wiping out there nether regions and comparing in the locker room. Remember it's not the size of it, but how you use it that matters.
That's just a newbies opinion. Take it or leave it.

That's an...um...interesting way of putting it. Haha, well um...yeah.

Well I guess what I should have said was what's the point of having a shelf full of DVD's you'll never watch? Wouldn't a smaller collection that gets constant replays be better?
Here's something I'd like to know. What does reyquila think of the Lukester?
After all, Luke has written over 300 reviews for this site. He's maintained it for about six years now, pays for it out of his own pocket. It's not his professional job, more of a really expensive hobby and labor of love. But the Lukester makes sure to keep us up to date on Disney DVD news and reviews, and the site itself has grown beyond just Disney reviews. It offers material by Touchstone, Miramax, Dimension, etc. It's swelled to a point where he also has a staff of other reviewers to handle reviews as well. And in recent years it's become a wonderful Disney site that also offers event reports like movie premieres and theme park celebrations. Luke and other staffers conduct interviews with people like Leonard Maltin, Moira Kelly, Irene Bedard, Don Hahn, Brenda Song, etc. Not to mention there are seasonal site contests, an immense database of information regarding Disney DVDs, and a sprawling messageboard that is good, bad, ugly, crazy, and kickass all at the same time. UD is more than just a fanpage, it's a testament to the love and devotion a LOT of people have for Disney. It's Disney for the people, by the people.
But Luke doesn't own every Disney DVD out there. And I'm sure he doesn't wish to either, especially since some are titles he probably has no use for beyond review purposes. What good is a Disney Princess Sing-Along DVD for him? Or a Baby Einstein title? And I highly doubt Luke gets his jollies on weekends by watching a marathon of Playhouse Disney shows on DVD (regardless how enjoyable "Higglytown Heroes" is).
So, reyquila, is Luke a lesser Disney fan than you simply because he doesn't have all the Disney DVDs? If you say yes, he is a lesser fan, then you've proven once again just how arrogant you are about your collection. If you say no, it proves you're making a double-standard towards your ridiculous opinion of "no collection, no standing".

I admire Luke and I'm grateful for his effort but in the words of Chris Rock: You are tossing his salad!!! Obviously you are looking for sympathy here, but let me be clear about this: sympathy will not buy you the movies!!!
PS. I can't write much since I'm going to Borders to buy Cinderella III!!!!

We all know what it looks like. And if you went to Borders, theres a good chance you overpaid.
Oh yea, one more thing... get your head out of your ass.

You can never overpaid for a Disney DVD!!! In fact, it was $19.99, a pretty standard price. Secondly, I already took my head out my ass and believe me mine smells wonderful when compared with your mother's!!!
PS. I know you know how CIII looks what I want you to look at is the other 366 Disney DVD's in the same photo!! In my media room!!! Not in yours!!!

Goodness, can you be any more conceited? Is it really necessary to constantly post new pics that show your whole collection EVERY time you buy a new dvd? Yes, we know how big your collection is. Big deal!

"Two things", you say. Well, it may also have somehing to do with the fact that you've been overselling this particular point for a very long time. That's what I sometimes find just slightly bothering with your collecting game.
Personally, I quite like to see people's pics, but I'm more interested in collectibles than pics of DVD's. We all know what they look like and don't see the point of a new pic after every new DVD's been bought.
I don't want this to turn into a repeat of the earlier reyquila incident, of which lots of people helped contribute to it's decline.
netty, apparently some people can't accept different ways of thinking from people of some different cultures and personalities, and don't see reyqilas natural boastful and loud pride in ownership as 'normal". He's a prima donna about his purchases, but that's the way he is!. Probably the same as people here showing proud pictures of their babies in their thick wallets but for some reason, when reyquila does it, some people get "upset", just don't read his posts if you don't like them, and move on!
Oh and btw,
We all know what it looks like. And if you went to Borders, theres a good chance you overpaid.
have you stopped to think, that maybe where reyquila lives, stores like Borders and Suncoast etc may be the only game in town? There's no BestBuys there, and everything is sold at full MSRP except for the first week sale on some places, and Amazon/etc shipping is near "overseas" level.. Just ask Jafar about his ordering online woes.
