That's a crazy price.
I paid $25 for the 2-disc blu-ray copy. I realized that the digital copy isn't worth it to me for that price. Plus, I have a Zune and not an iPod so there is some confusion whether it even works out right.
I did the same with Walle. Passed on the extra disc. 2-disc is fine for me.

Yesterday's price for the single disc Prince Caspian was $19.99. Usually this is the same price for the first week of release.chadhobbick wrote:How much is the regular PC disc going for at WM? Is it $19.99 or is it $15?
I would've liked to have just a 2-disc set without the stupid digital copy. But, Disney didn't do it, it was either 1 disc or 3 disc.

Hey, look, a fellow Zune user! Zune works with both mp4 (iTunes/iPod) videos and WMVs... just without DRM. I'll say that it's possible to decrypt both the iTunes and WMV versions of Digital Copy (I myself have done it and have movies like Get Smart on my Zune)... but I won't say how here for copyright reasons. I can help anyone via PM, though...Plus, I have a Zune and not an iPod so there is some confusion whether it even works out right.

I got the 3 disc set for $29.67 at Best Buy today. They didn't have any special offers, but i figured it was pretty cheap compared to what some people on here have been saying they've paid.
My wal-mart also didn't have the 3-disc, and it didn't seem that they have any intention on having it anytime soon. I found that very odd.

THAT'S what I should've done. 20/20 hindsight sucks. With all B&M's $27.99 or $29.99 +tax I ordered it from Amazon with a book my brother wanted (so we qualified for the free shipping). Now I have to wait another week or so to get it. Most other companies don't rape you the way Disney does with that friggin useless digital copy. To me it is merely an excuse for Di$$$ney to add $5 to the msrp. Dvds that should be $22.99 now from Disney are at least $5-$7 more. And all the 3rd disc to me is a glorified coaster with pretty artwork.prettyboystyle1 wrote:i got the 3 disk set from walmart.com for 22.99 plus tax, and used ship to store to save on shipping.
15 gallon 7 pint blood donor as of 1-4-11. Done donating. Apparently having Cancer makes you kind of ineligible to donate.

Re: Prince Caspian: in-store bonuses?
Unfortunately, the in-store bonus I was looking forward to isn't even available in R1 as I had hoped.Barbossa wrote:Prince Caspian hits the shelves today. Does anybody know of any in-store bonuses?
Zavvi's in the UK and a limited-edition in Japan both contain an exclusive third disc (that isn't a crappy digital copy) with three featurettes:
-Enter the Prince: Introducing Ben Barnes (5:45)
-Crafting Caspian: Design Artistry and Cinematic Skill (11:10)
-Anatomy of a Scene: The Castle Raid (20:53)
In Australia they had a bonus disc available only in Sanity Stores with the following:
-Promo: Enigmatic Hero (01:18 )
-Theatrical Trailer (02:26)
-Return to Narnia: The Next Chapter (02:36)
-Anatomy of a Scene: The Melting River (11:31) - from LWW
-From One Man’s Mind (03:57) - from LWW
-DVD Trailer (01:25) - for LWW
And the general EPK (not something sold in stores) has this:
-B-Roll Footage (19:25)
-Film Clips (3:23)
--Drop Him (01:00)
--Flight of the Gryphons (00:45)
--You’re Not What I Expected (00:45)
--The Castle Assault (00:53)
-Soundbites (25:12)
--Ben Barnes (02:50)
--William Moseley (02:35)
--Anna Popplewell (03:17)
--Skandar Keynes (01:54)
--Georgie Henley (02:36)
--Sergio Castellitto (00:34)
--Eddie Izzard (00:19)
--Peter Dinklage (00:52)
--Warwick Davis (00:41)
--Andrew Adamson (02:30)
--Mark Johnson (01:24)
--Howard Berger (01:04)
--Richard Taylor (01:15)
--Isis Mussenden (01:12)
--Roger Ford (00:36)
--Dean Wright (00:25)
--Wendy Rogers (00:21)
--Harry Gregson-Williams (00:47)
-Theatrical Trailer (02:34)
-Music Video: "This is Home" (04:04) - there ya go, Matt. It's limited to the EPK, harrumph!

I had perused vigorously through various sites, circulars, messageboards, hoping to find any indication that either of them (preferably the Zavvi/Japan one) would also be a store-exclusive in the US (perhaps Best Buy or Target). Unfortunately, it seems the US would prefer we have a digital copy of the film rather than more relevant material about the making of the film.

I've probably complained about it before, and it's a rather hypocritical complaint (as I base some of my purchases on the store exclusive) but store-exclusives are just plain stupid, and the content on them should be included on the general release.

I don't think they will release a 4-disc set. A bunch of the content would probably end up being repetitive. Didn't the 4-disc set for TLTW&TW have a biography featurette for CS Lewis? There's no point in repeating it. Even the behind the scenes stuff on the 2-disc set seems repetitive.DisneyQuack wrote:Any chance this will get a 4 disc release like the one that came out for The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe?
I'm surprised Disney didn't include a bonus with Prince Caspian. At Walmart, with the release of Hancock last week, they included Hancock's toque. With Caspian they could've included something like a figurine or concept art or something. Since the movie didn't do too well during the summer, I thought Disney would push the DVD more by including a bonus but they didn't.

Add the soundtrack CD to the current "three"-disc set, and voila...a four-disc set.DisneyQuack wrote:Any chance this will get a 4 disc release like the one that came out for The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe?

There was a brief featurette in the two-disc, then a full-blown 70-odd minute documentary in the four-disc (but yeah, it was repeated again, as disc two in the two-disc set is the same as disc two in the four-disc set).Barbossa wrote:Didn't the 4-disc set for TLTW&TW have a biography featurette for CS Lewis? So am I, especially as other regions got a bonus.Barbossa wrote:I'm surprised Disney didn't include a bonus with Prince Caspian.

NarniaWeb has posted a review (with screenshots) of both bonus discs and the EPK Albert detailed earlier in this thread:
http://www.narniaweb.com/forum/forum_po ... 63#1270663
It really ticks me off that the "Bonus Disc 1" isn't available in the U.S, especially now that I know the anatomy of the castle raid isn't just a rehash of the Blu-ray's CircleVision.
"Bonus Disc 2" is just lame, so I don't care about that. As for the EPK material, I could live without it since: a) I've watched most of that online and b) some of it is integrated into the featurettes and documentaries. That said, it'd ne nice to have them for completeness' sake, especially the music video and trailer (though, as I've said before, I could always pop in Enchanted when I want to see the trailer).
Really, though, is it so much to ask for three featurettes, a music video, and a trailer, especially when said featurettes were undoubtedly made by the producers of the main DVD/BD content? Hopefully someone puts the featurettes online. That's how I was able to view At World's End's very nice selection of bonus disc content.

I just did the math, and you can get the 3 disc Australian version from Sanity Online (http://www.sanity.com.au/product/produc ... ku=2117964) for $39.99 plus $7.00 shipping Australian, which due to the weak Aussie dollar at the moment equals about $30 US. If you're paying that much or more for a digital copy, you might as well get the Australian version. The only downside is our hideous ratings logo.
