Re: Frozen: Part V
I thought Doug's parody version was okay, but no where near as funny as the one he did for the Mary Poppins song, which he sung at the end of the "Batman & Robin" episode. That one, I find myself singing every now and then, though quietly, so others won't hear me.
I am not sick of "Let It Go", but I find myself only really liking it when watching the movie clip along with it. I don't think I've listened to the entire song by itself.

Based on that review as well as this photo of the slipcover's back, it looks like they decided not to include the 6-minute "Breaking the Ice: The Real Making of Frozen" bonus that was originally to be included, according to the press release.
Still, that perfect rating for PQ and AQ are making it that much harder for me to pass this release up in favor of the eventual domestic 3D Blu release.
Please voice your desire for a domestic 3D Blu-ray release of Frozen!

Very strange that they left off the "real" making of. I was most looking forward to that. Hopefully it's because they're prepping a much more extensive documentary for the 3d release later this year.

I hope so, too. This release just feels too much like a teaser for a forthcoming, better release.SWillie! wrote:Very strange that they left off the "real" making of. Hopefully the Target bonus disc will temporarily make up for the sparse features here, even if it will just offer "The Voices of Frozen," a deleted scene, and an art gallery.

Source: http://geekdad.com/2014/03/disney-trip- ... n-leaders/According to Chris [Buck], they switched the title from The Snow Queen to Frozen because “as we went on, it became much more of Anna’s story. Frozen works for the landscape, and for their relationship, which is frozen in the film when they were little girls.”

Yet it was Pocahontas and Aladdin, not Tribes and Three Wishes.
Moving on...

I know. It's exactly the same PR response the directors of Tangled gave for the name change. Would it kill them to give an honest answer for once?Lnds500 wrote:...and it was Tangled because it was Flynn's story as well. Yet it was Pocahontas and Aladdin, not Tribes and Three Wishes.

Re: Frozen: Part V
Sorry if this has been posted before, but I didn't check this thread for a long time. One of my Facebook friends told me that he read somewhere that Disney is considering making Frozen a Diamond Edition. Of course, this is just a rumor, but if it is indeed true, it would be fantastic! It just came out a few months ago, and Disney already considers it fitting to join other beloved classics in that line.
If it gets the same treatment as the others, well that's another story.
But, who knows? They didn't schedule the 3D version alongside the regular version, so that may be a possibility. Maybe they're preparing a truly fantastic release.

Love it ! 8D
If only Disney made him a proper villian song, like this, but like a zillion times better written xD

I would at least argue that Frozen is a more fitting title for this movie than Tangled was for that one, but still. Agreed.Sotiris wrote:I know. Re: Frozen: Part V
But, they have a great point: What's the use of calling it THE SNOW QUEEN if THE SNOW QUEEN herself is only it for like 5 seconds and doesn't really do anything? If she remained evil, then THE SNOW QUEEN would be a great title because she actually does something and it would be closer to the source material.

There's being honest, then there is being sly.
The rationale for why Frozen is named Frozen is much more in line with being sly. The only reason it isn't as bothersome for me us because, well, Frozen was almost a completely different story than The Snow Queen.
But they don't wish to stir the pot; they know the internet would freak out if they told the true truth as to why Frozen is named that (or why it is CG instead of hand drawn, or why Alan Menkan got replaced with the Lopez duo).

^and yet those changes were pivotal to its massive success.
I don't think the wider internet community really care. They aren't naive enough to not know that marketing potential has a lot to do with animated films. If anyone is going to be hurt by 'the truth', it's members of this and similar forums.

Not sure I agree with that. The fact that it's 3D, possibly, but I don't think having Menken do the music or the title be The Snow Queen would've affected the film's success.Victurtle wrote:^and yet those changes were pivotal to its massive success.

Re: Frozen: Part V
Hmm yeah. I think that they changed it to Frozen pretty early in development, and Evil ! Elsa turning into canon Elsa, was a very late change. They only changed her into a misunderstood character, because of Let It Go; late in development. Because they already planned to have Hans as this navy solider, and not the villian. Coloring books have Hans wanting to bring Elsa safely back home.Warm Regards wrote:There's being honest, then there is being sly.

The excuse that Frozen was no longer dubbed the Snow Queen, because Elsa wasn't the villian is a bad lie.
Sadly we will never know how well Snow Queen would of turned out if they kept the original title, had Alan was lyric artist, and had Elsa as the villian and not Hans.
Well Elsa would of turned out as more of a beloved villian, that's for sure. Because of " girl power "

Re: Frozen: Part V
Nothing to add, but I just randomly thought about how bizarre it would have been if Kristen Chenoweth and Idina Menzel had voiced Rapunzel and Elsa back to back (as planned). I kind of feel sorry for Chenoweth that she didn't get the role; becoming a Disney character, particularly a princess, in some ways immortalizes you since these films are continously watched by new generations of children.
I could've seen Chenoweth voicing Anna, actually. I love Bell's performance though, so I'm not disappointed.
