Re: Disney Plus (Streaming Service)
Do we know if Disney Plus will be available on Sony Blu-Ray players? I have not seen Sony Blu-Ray on the list of devices that will or will not support Disney Plus. However, I'm not so sure myself, especially if the drama over Spider-Man is any indication.

Re: Disney Plus (Streaming Service)
Again, I ask (for the third (or fourth) time)...
Do we know if Disney Plus will be available on Sony Blu-Ray players? I have not seen Sony Blu-Ray on the list of devices that will or will not support Disney Plus. However, I'm not so sure myself, especially if the drama over Spider-Man is any indication.
Can someone please answer if Disney Plus will or will not be supported by Sony Blu-Ray players? Thank you.

Darn. Well, I do have a Blu-Ray player, and I really would hate to be disappointed to find out that it doesn't have it either. On the other hand, considering the bad blood between Disney and Sony over Spider-Man, I really should not be surprised.UmbrellaFish wrote:I do not think any of us knows.

A couple of announcements, courtesy of YouTube channel What's On Disney Plus:
First, a trailer announcing that major Western European countries like the U.K., Spain, France and Italy will get Disney+ on March 31st.
And the big news: Disney has announced that Avengers: Endgame will be on Disney+ at launch.

Smart move, Disney! Get that content back!
Disney+ will run Starz ad as part of a deal to get its own movies back at launch

[It's a one-time ad; that shouldn't hurt anyone, and it helps Disney get its content back. Win-win.]

Iger also announced that the service will now be compatible with Amazon Fire devices. Which is the whole reason I bought a Roku but maybe I can gift it to someone.

Did he mention anything about Samsung or Vizio? Or Sony Blu-Ray players?UmbrellaFish wrote:Iger also announced that the service will now be compatible with Amazon Fire devices. Which is the whole reason I bought a Roku but maybe I can gift it to someone.
Re: Disney Plus (Streaming Service)
I don’t know if this has already been asked or posted before on this topic, but has someone laid a hand on some kind of official list about movies and other contents that will be presented in 4K on day 1 on Disney+ ?
(I already heard that The Black Cauldron will be!!! And I’m curious about which other titles from the catalogue (especially 2D animated motion pictures
) will receive the same treatment!..

Re: Disney Plus (Streaming Service)
So now that it's finally here. Can someone who has it answer me a few questions please?
1. Are Who Framed Roger Rabbit and WALl-E available in 4K?
2. How does Beauty and the Beast look like? Is it the same as the Blu-ray or did they fix the colors and Something There like in the DCP?

Re: Disney Plus (Streaming Service)
Can anyone confirm that Beauty and the Beast (1991) is in 4K? What does it look like? The colors? Something There? Please this is important.
Re: Disney Plus (Streaming Service)
I don't see any way of telling what the resolution is, it doesn't give nerd stats like netflix I don't think. I can tell you however that it uses the botched color transfer though. Was hoping for the 3D version's color pallet but nope.
Random, but man these overlays are annoying. They take forever to go away and undim the screen.

What about Something There? Does it still use the shot from the special edition?Kyle wrote:I don't see any way of telling what the resolution is, it doesn't give nerd stats like netflix I don't think. I can't tell if it's 4K or not either. The background is the one with the staircase but I don't remember if that's the incorrect shot or not. No Human Again. There are barely any bonus features (most films only offer a few deleted scenes as extras) and it doesn't look like you can even watch the Special Edition with Human Again.
Pocahontas btw is the regular version and not the extended edition.

We’re a dyad in the Force. Two that are one.
"I offered you my hand once. You wanted to take it." - Kylo Ren
"I did want to take your hand. Ben's hand." - Rey
Re: Disney Plus (Streaming Service)

This is supposed to be the correct shot while Mrs. Pots says that line.

Re: Disney Plus (Streaming Service)
Based on this video (around the 6:50 mark), the background is that of the VHS, 3D Blu-Ray, and Theatrical Blu-Ray, not the Platinum DVD and Extended Blu-Ray.

Re: Disney Plus (Streaming Service)
That was always correct. The problem was the shot afterwards where in the VHS and the 3D had the one I posted above while the Platinum, the extended and theatrical Blu-ray had the one with Lumiere and Plumette starting to close the door.
