http://www.filmz.ru/pub/1/27498_1.htm
Boris Novikov wrote:The current film market in Cannes for the animation studio Wizart Animation has been very successful: the domestic cartoon "The Snow Queen" found their overseas buyers, as well as Russian animators presented two potential distributors of their new project - "Snow King" and "Wolves and Sheep."

"The Snow Queen," was praised representatives of foreign distributors, will be shown in the U.S., Germany, Bulgaria, Hungary and Serbia. "Snow King" - the continuation of "The Snow Queen," which is producing, as is the case with the original, is engaged in Timur Bekmambetov . The protagonist of the sequel is a troll Orme, who, having tasted popularity thanks to his participation in the struggle with the Snow Queen, recklessly starts to lie and boast that he beat her almost single-handedly, and, of course, nothing good comes out of it. As for the cartoon "Wolves and Sheep," then work on it studio attracted American screenwriter Neil Landau, who has worked at one time on the script, "Thad Jones and the Lost City" and even became the owner of the prestigious Spanish film award "Goya" for this project. Thawing Disney’s ‘Frozen’ Secret: Is Hair The Clue?
http://www.therotoscopers.com/2013/06/0 ... -the-clue/
Gary Wright wrote:Well, it’s June and we Disney fans are still holding our breaths for our first (official) look at Walt Disney Animation Studios’ upcoming feature, Frozen. We’ve got our fingers crossed for a teaser/trailer to play in front of Pixar’s Monsters University on June 21 (as has been speculated), but until then, all we can do is daydream about how awesome the movie will really be.

Fans are going wild discussing the potential story of the film. We know the basic plot: Older sister has ice powers, curses little sister and flees, little sister undertakes an epic journey of reconciliation across a frozen landscape with a potential hottie/love interest and a misfit snowman. Throw in a reindeer and an army of angry mountain trolls and you have the basic plot of Frozen.

But what else could there be? There has to be something more to it, right?

So here’s my theory. Anna is (accidentally?) cursed by her sister Elsa, thus freezing her heart in the process (ouch). Right? So what happens to dear, sweet Anna now? Wait for it.

I say she becomes another Snow Queen, like Elsa. (insert gasp here).

Think about it. Anna slowly becomes more and more like her sister, the curse begins taking over her own body, and she develops powers similar to Elsa’s. Want proof of my theory? Take a gander at the pictures below and see if you agree.

Look closely at Anna’s braid in the following pictures. If you squint hard enough, you’ll notice that Anna has a bright streak of platinum blonde/white hair right in the middle of her right braid!

ImageImage

Did you notice? What could this possibly mean? Does it mean that Anna’s hair will reflect her icy heart? Will Anna’s hair slowly turn white as the curse gets deeper? Does this mean that Anna’s hair will serve as a kind of “hourglass” (or “Enchanted Rose” if you will) that tells the audience how much time Anna and Kristoff have to break the curse? After all, this is a “race-against-time” kind of movie. It’s a wild theory, but definitely not improbable.

Or does Anna just like to do wacky stuff with her hair?

In 2010′s smash hit Tangled, Rapunzel’s hair was the scene-stealer. The fact that it glowed bright and turned brown when cut was a very fascinating story mechanic. I don’t see why Disney won’t try and make Frozen similar to Tangled, in that certain aspects like Anna and Elsa’s hair color reflects their “curse status” or whatever. Of course, for a film based on Rapunzel, hair plays an important part, but why should Disney port a similar mechanic over to Frozen?

So I turn it over to you. What do you think the white streak in Anna’s hair means? Could it really be connected to the Snow Queen’s curse in some way? Will all of Anna’s hair eventually turn white? Or will all of Elsa’s own hair turn honey blonde like her sister’s when her own curse is broken? Could be!

The plot thickens…I mean, freezes…

Here are some pics of Disney's "Frozen." True that it's kind of off topic to Wizart's "The Snow Queen," but both are based on the same fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen.

'Frozen' defrosts Kristen Bell's Disney dreams
http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/movi ... y/2389171/
Bryan Alexander wrote:Kristen Bell's dreams of portraying a Walt Disney heroine have come true now that she will give voice to the klutzy but true-hearted Anna in the animated adventure epic Frozen.

"Since I was 4 years old, I dreamed of being in a Disney animated film," Bell says. "It was the first goal I ever set for myself. It seemed like it would be a very unrealistic one."

In Frozen, due Nov. 27, Anna heads out on a treacherous quest to find her older, more powerful sister, Elsa, the Queen of Arrendelle (Idina Menzel). Elsa has fled after accidentally setting off a curse, leaving her kingdom in perpetual winter. The story is based on a Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale.

"Anna is the sibling who doesn't normally get that much attention and is used to kind of just spazzing out on her own," Bell says. "But she's forced into a position where her sister needs her, and she has to step up to the plate."

Bell brought her own ideas to directors Chris Buck (Surf's Up, Tarzan) and Jennifer Lee (a screenwriter on Wreck-It Ralph) about how to play her character.

"She's not a good fighter, she doesn't have good posture, she's not very elegant, and she's constantly putting her foot in her mouth," she says. "But she's a good person and she's utterly determined."

"She doesn't have any superpowers," adds Lee. "But Anna is one of these ordinary people doing an extraordinary thing."

Anna has help on her quest to find Elsa, including an assist from rugged mountain man Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), whose friendly steed is a reindeer named Sven. The group is joined by talking snowman Olaf (Josh Gad), who provides further comic relief.

And there is romance. After all, Frozen features the charming Prince Hans (Santino Fontana, who is currently starring as Prince Charming in Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella on Broadway).

"He's the more Disney-type of guy," says Bell, who notes that Anna also develops an unlikely fondness for Kristoff. But the film focuses on the relationship between the two sisters.

"That's such an important part of this,'' Lee says. "Two sisters torn apart by a big family secret."

The animators traveled to Norway to scope out the winter world firsthand and incorporated the look into Frozen's 3-D-enhanced scenery. Buck says his team had "a blast" re-creating the beauty on-screen.

"The light is amazing, the way it refracts and dances off the snow and ice," Buck says. "We're still working on the film, but what we have seen is stunning."

Frozen also features music from The Book of Mormon's Robert Lopez and lyrics from his wife, Kristen Anderson-Lopez, which are performed by top Broadway stars. Bell sang alongside stage standout Menzel, a prospect she found "terrifying."

"It's like getting on a bike path with Lance Armstrong," Bell says. "She's one of the best singers on the planet."

But like Anna, Bell carried the day. She says her role is something that Lincoln, her newborn daughter with Dax Shepard, will be proud of one day.

"Now that I have a little girl, she's going to be able to see me voice this character, and that's a special part of the process for me," Bell says. "She won't know for a very long time, but when that time comes, she'll be as excited as I am now."

Polizzi, do you have any news on whether the Russian Snow Queen film will be out on Blu-ray soon? I want to see it, and it's definitely not coming to cinemas in my country.

Also, I watched the clip you posted (the one with the pirate woman) and I thought the English voice-acting sounded awful. If I were to watch it I think I'd rather see it Russian with English subtitles.

The animation was a prototype. And I don't know. All I know is that they've presented their animated feature and the Annecy Film Festival, and still no reply from the staff about their experience. However, the Portuguese version of the film, "O Reino Gelado," is available on DVD and Blu-ray. Oh and speaking of countries, they're in negotiations on getting it distributed in China. Their previous distributions are the U.S., Germany, Serbia, Hungary, and Bulgaria. They still got a long way to go.

By the way, here's the movie poster for Disney's "Frozen."

I still welcome Disney's "Frozen" to this thread.

And check this out.

1. Orm the Troll and Olaf the Snowman. Both of them are henchmen to the Snow Queen.

2. Gerda, Anna, and Elsa as the Snow Queen. There is no Snow Queen from Wizart's version posted on this art.

3. Kristoff riding on Sven the reindeer and Gerda riding on the reindeer. Both of their hairs are blonde.

4. The stranded pirate ship. Notice the stranded ship in the picture of Kristoff riding on Sven.

Sorry. No English subtitles required. Wizart's too clever to put it on, because they knew that the people in the U.S. or other English speaking territories might give their version a negative comment.

Here's the Portuguese version: http://www.baixakitorrent.com/baixar-fi ... i-torrent/.

1. Elsa the Snow Queen and her counterpart. And YES, the Snow Queen's arms from Wizart's version are flabby.

2. Princess Anna, Gerda, and Kai. Notice that Anna's hair is brown but later shifts to blonde as she journeys on to find her sister Elsa in her ice palace. However, both Anna and Kai's hair are brown, including Prince Hans's. Kristoff was not included in this art, but he was posted before in the previous comparison and contrast art.

3. Prince Hans and the king, prince, and princess. The prince from Wizart's version is kind of...wimpy, based on his figure. Prince Hans is more of a handsome man compared to the previous princes, like Eric from Disney's "The Little Mermaid."

4. Ira, the Lady of Lapland's daughter. SPOILER ALERT: She was the Snow Queen after she was cursed by an evil lake named Gayo. It consumed her, and turned her into an evil witch of winter (kind of like The One Ring which consumed Gollum in "The Lord of the Rings"). At the end of Wizart's version, she was saved by Gerda with her magic mirror which changed her back to normal. The evil lake was referenced to the evil mirror from the original fairy tale by H.C. Andersen. Wizart did a turnaround on the mirror.

By the way, Gerda and Kai are brother and sister. I understand that you were expecting a love relationship, but that was already compromised in the 1957 version under Soyuzmultfilm. Wizart changed it to make it modern. Plus, they don't want to get too mushy creating a love scene. Besides, that's Disney's job.

THE SNOW QUEEN

It is another beautiful version of a well known "The Snow Queen" (a book by H-C Andersen for those who keep forgetting it...) made in 3-D. it would definitely be an entertaining experience to watch for 5-11 year old kids (fast subtitles reading will be required from them though which also could be a good mind-training exercise for them) and for adults, young and warm in heart. There are lots of new twists and unexpected turns, fantastic adventures in the flowers, and snow wonderlands in this new interpretation of an old fairy tale. The animation will keep your kids go "wow," "oops," "oh," and even "ouch." There is one thing for sure: those kind and brave ones always win but (there are always "buts" in these Russian interpreted tales) - even the 'baddies' turn into...oops...I am not supposed to tell you all the secrets here. And to discover this part you would need to watch the animation for yourself. Do you think Gerda will save Kai? Well, you never know with all these crazy Russians anymore.
