I got the Sony 3D Bluray Player today. It appears to have all the bells and whistles and arrived in excellent condition. I look forward to hooking it up and trying it out.

For those of you that got your Sony Blu-Ray Players, is there an HDMI cable packaged with it or do you have to buy that seperately?

From what I've seen in stores this player does not include a HDMI cable.

I'd go to ebay for HDMI wires....I know they may not be the best....but I bought some 15ft ones for $22.99 that I needed just maneuver around the stand that has on it and connecting my Ps3 and sound system etc etc...they work great. And are better than paying $35 for one wire....

or type in HDMI cables on ebay.com

Yeah HDMI cables are overpriced in stores. Also Monoprice is another great choice for HDMI cables. Bought a few 6 foot ones last year for 2 different TVs and they work great. Less than $5 for each cable too.

Has anyone received a defective or broken item from DMR? I received a broken statue today and I'm afraid it's gonna be a process to get a replacement...

Any good or bad experiences?

No HDMI cable. You get the player, a remote, batteries, a standard video cable, a DMR card for 50 points and instructions. It has a port for wireless internet so you can do the BD Live, You Tube videos, etc. It is definitely a better player than I had and was a lot cheaper than the old one as well, although I got the first one for my birthday last year.

The 5 points for today on ABC Family's site haven't shown up yet. It still has yesterday up there. I actually forgot to get the points for yesterday, but when I click on it, it says the code is expired.

I've been fooling with this player for a bit now and I must say that I am supremely happy with it! My old player was not able to hook up to the internet, this one does and its really pretty cool. Plus the load times are much, much faster than my old player. That player took minutes, this one takes seconds. You can even adjust it so that it loads even faster but it turns a fan on and increases the amount of power consumption. I decided to leave it on the slow load but its still pretty fast.

I tried a BD live thing with the Snow White Bluray but it said it wasn't available in my area? Huh? I didn't notice any other discs with the logo, is there a couple of good ones to try this feature out with?

Got a birthday email today since today is my birthday telling me I get 100 points for logging into my account. I click on it and it says the code is invalid. I look and it says I have to log on as someone that's not me.

It's bad enough they aren't giving free movies anymore, but now my points are attached to an account that isn't mine. Huh? This is absurd. So basically for my birthday I can attempt to give 100 points to someone else.

I had that same issue Gurgi30. I thought it was kind of a slap in the face as well on my b-day. Talk about dangling the carrot in front of the face.

Last year, I remember finding out --after the fact-- that there were bonus DMR points offered on Christmas Day on some header/graphic on Disney.com.

Does anyone else remember this, or was it on some other site?

I'll be browsing that site, plus a few other Disney sites plus Facebook. If I find something, I'll post it here!
