MattDean, if your talking about things like the model and texture quality that's a different thing entirely from the transfer itself. But even to that end I really have to disagree. the model upgrades were phenomenal. Rex's scale texture is higher res, Woody's collar and elbows now have a more believable thickness to them. all of the facial animation controls have better looking deformation to them. And the shaders represent the various materials so much better than the previous toy stories.

Luke, glad I could ruin that shot for you. haha

I finally bought this today (and used my $8 coupon before it expired) and got to see it for the first time. I gotta say, it's probably my favorite of the 3 movies. The story is good....everything about it is good. I highly recommend this movie if you haven't seen it. I'm gonna watch it again tonight! :)

Now, only 22 days until FANTASIA!!!

I'm well aware of these things - I have watched the documentaries too!

As I said earlier, it just didn't impress me, overall, as much as other recent releases.

I was going to buy the trilogy but now I don't know. I mean, I might just get the three movies individually because that'll probably be cheaper in the long run. Ah, I'm lazy, I wanted to get the set Lol. My son didn't seem as interested in the third movie, either. We finally rented it recently and I thought for a third release it did very well (usually they are terrible by the third one) but at the same time I wasn't thrilled with it. I really enjoyed Mr. Potato Head in this one.

No, the boxset is the cheaper way to go.

If I hadn't dragged my feet and used a coupon I could have gotten the Toy Story 3 for $17 I think and then the Toy Story 1 and 2 combo packs for $20 each so it would be less than the $65 bundle for the trilogy (minus the digital copies which I don't care about). But you said the limited time the coupon was valid they didn't even want to take it? How much was it at Wal-Mart? I am gonna check out our store.

Unless they have a sale then at the moment it's the same. ($19.99 for the first two and $24.99 for the third online, anyway). The trilogy packing looks a little wacky but we wouldn't store it there, anyway so I guess it's a toss up at this point.

Seen it, the best from the trilogy. Hope they'll make another one in the future to come...

Pixar, I hate you.

I just finished watching Toy Story 3 for the first time and I am bawling like a baby.

What an incredibly touching movie.

At least you could let it all out. The first time I watched it, was in a theater full of people, and the second time was at home, with the family. I had to fight the tears back both times :D. Now I just have to find a moment to watch it by myself.

I've watched all three in order and I think I have my order of favorites: 3, 1, 2. All three are insanely good films though. The Woody/Andy relationship is one of the best and most touching in animation history, at least for me.

The third looks amazing in blu-ray and the way Woody looks and moves is amazing, when he is escaping Sunnyside for the first time his movements are particularly impressive.

Up until a few weeks ago I hadn't even seen Toy Story 1 and 2 in their entirity, but I borrowed them from the library and I'll probably eventually end up owning the trilogy. However, I don't really like the "Toy Box" packaging all that much either.

I found this picture online, I think this was released outside of the US, but I am not even sure about that...

If this is real, I wish something like this could come out in the US. I'd love to have all 3 movies in a set and in a basic (although thicker) Blu-ray case or even a boxset with slim cases or something. The "Toy Box" is just too bulky for my tastes, and the fact that the discs are sticking out of a foam block isn't too appealing either.

Hehe, this is kind of old, but it's nice seeing it again! I love that Pixar included them on the Blu-ray too. Although I was a little disappointed with the "making of" feature on those commercials =/
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

Combo pack digital copy

Post by geniuswalt »

I've just downloaded the digital copy that comes with the combo pack
and realized that the audio is MONO :(
despite the fact that it says it is 5.1.

Can anyone confirm?
