Not sure what they mean by "rude humor", but it doesn't sound good.

It'll be interesting to see what the Box Office Results are. Does anyone think this might bomb?

It might under-perform if expectations are high, but bomb? I don't think so.

I sure hope it will bomb, so that Disney might focus their efforts into making something more original (and of higher quality) instead.

To be fair, you don't know how it will turn out yet. The Tinker Bell-series turned out pretty good. Don't see why this should be different with Planes.

As it is basically Cars in the sky. Deemed as nothing more than a cash cow for Disney. I think the Tink movies are on an entirely different spectrum to this.

I don't see how the Tinker Bell movies are different. They, too, were made to help market a toy line (specifically the Disney Fairies) and featuring a character widely used in the parks and seen on every single DVD release from the studio.

All Disney movies are made with a subtext of how profitable a toy line they can create from it; it just jars how obvious Cars and now Planes! is. Cars was averagely reviewed at best, yet somehow a sequel got made, to met with pretty poor reviews for a Pixar movie. Yet, made it was....due to the amazingly successful toy spin-off line.

Personally, I feel the Tinkerbell films have more thought put into them than this Planes! movie has. All I can see is TOY LINE when any trailers pop up. I don't feel that way when I see an ad for a Tink film. Maybe it's due to the fact I'm not a 6 year old boy, who knows. That's who the movie is aimed for, and if they love it then so be it. Just wish Disney could have put all this marketing energy into something else more creative is all.

From the trailers I've seen, I don't get the feeling Planes is designed strictly to sell toys. I mean, I know it is, but I get the feeling it's an attractive set of characters, lovely scenery, and an interesting story, just as I did with the first Cars movie. Actually, rather than making me think of toys, the trailers remind me of the old Pedro segment from Saludos Amigos. I guess I see the characters first, and if they happen to sell lots of toys, well, that has nothing to do with my enjoyment of the movie or not.

You're so obsessed with the "classic" label. It doesn't mean what you think it means.

Let´s see... Classic is the Disney line for their animated movies.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney_Classics

So, I just want to know if Planes belongs to the line.
