NarniaWeb has posted two translations from two Swedish mini reviews. There's not much to comment on except for one thing notable enough for me to post about it: it's revealed that Andrew Adamson's not alone on the commentary, afterall. He's joined by all four Pevensies (William Moseley, Anna Popplewell, Skandar Keynes, and Georgie Henley) as well as Ben Barnes. This to me is excellent news. I loved the cast commentary on LWW and thought it had a good balance between entertainment and information. It's great to see that experience repeated, this time with Barnes joining in on the fun. So at least there's one aspect of this release that nicely mirrors that of the first film's.

It's not just for the Ipod, it's so you can have it on your computer and you can also claim the movie through Windows Media Player. They're not very
useful, though. In my opinion they're just an extra disc taking up space and the advertisement clipart clutters up the box art, they could very well just give you the
piece of paper they already give you with the code on it and a another piece of paper advertising perfectly placed under the see-through plastic wrap and also use it to advertise the Disney movie rewards.

I had a digital copy of Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix. I could never get it to transfer to my device (Samsung T10 MP3 player that had a Play for Sure logo on its packaging) so I'd be really upset if I tried to transfer a digital copy of a Disney Movie and it didn't work.
And I'm going to pass on Prince Caspian DVD right now. The movie wasn't that great.

Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

Zavvi in the UK will have the exclusive bonus disc (with the 3 featurettes: "Enter the Prince", "Crafting Caspian" and "Anatomy of a Scene: The Castle Raid")
The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian [With Exclusive Bonus Disc]
Still no word on which US retailer will get it. I'm assuming/hoping Best Buy.

An in-depth review of the DVD and BD supplements is now on NarniaWeb:
http://narniaweb.com/news.asp?id=1998&dl=21348630
And for those who can't wait, someone's posted all of the deleted scenes (and the blooper reel) on YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p ... 23A57AC146
This really sounds like a great set, glossy main featurette not withstanding. I'm also glad to see so many deleted scenes included, even if the commentary alludes to more not featured. I really like most of these (especially the one with Peter preparing for his duel with Miraz, a scene lifted straight from the book), and I have to admit I'm a bit bummed that this film isn't getting an extended edition like LWW (that we know of).
The reviewer brought up something I hadn't even noticed: there's no featurette devoted to Reepicheep. This is surprising considering he's one of the most famous characters in the series. I can only assume they'll give him his own featurette for Voyage of the Dawn Treader since his role in that one is much more significant.
Still, I'm looking forward to this release. Now give us some VotDT pre-production blogs, Disney.

Okay I was lucky enough to get a hold of the 3-disc Colletor's Edition of Narnia: Caspian...I might be able to get pictures either tomorrow or on Tuesday......although some (most) of you will be horrified then outraged that disc 1 and 2 lack disc art...They are 2 bland grey discs similar to Paramount's Iron Man 2-disc...2 grey bland of nothing....and here is where it takes the cake....there however your more traditional cover art on the DISNEY FILE Digital Copy with Aslan on it...that is the only disc that has any cover art whatsoever ....at least its a keep case..also the discs are stored similar to Walt Disney Treasures stacked and the Disney File Digital Copy on the side of the inside of the box...
As far as adds theirs not much...however there is a Save $10 on Narnia: Caspian Blu Ray coupon....rather than mail it in and receive a check by mail for $10. The only other coupon is Save $3 on Narnia: Lion Witch and Wardrobe on either DVD or the 2-disc Blu Ray
The only new trailer is something about a Disney Nature Film Called Earth coming to theaters Earth Day...
Also at least the box is a keep case as oppose to Wall-E Earth and Space friendly packaging

My god, are you kidding me? Disney skimped on the disc art for the DVDs, but has a nice picture of Aslan on the semi-useless DisneyFile Disc?disneyboy20022 wrote:although some (most) of you will be horrified then outraged that disc 1 and 2 lack disc art...They are 2 bland grey discs similar to Paramount's Iron Man 2-disc...2 grey bland of nothing....and here is where it takes the cake....there however your more traditional cover art on the DISNEY FILE Digital Copy with Aslan on it...that is the only disc that has any cover art whatsoever ....at least its a keep case..
I'm still waiting on word for which US retailer will get the store-exclusive disc (with the 3 featurettes). That'll most definitely determine where I'm buying the DVD next week. But I'm really pissed off now at the lack of disc art. Sure, it's not something I should worry about (after all, I'll be spinning the discs, not looking at them), but ugly gray disc art just seems like a sign of cheap laziness on the studio.
It's there for people who end up upgrading to the newer format before the coupon expires. In the Platinums for Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King, there was a $5 rebate offer for anyone who bought the original VHS tapes in 1992/1995 then upgraded to the new DVD (or VHS) in 2002/2003.rs_milo_whatever wrote:Wait a minute... a $10 coupon to buy Prince Caspian again?
Even if it is a different format, that doesn't sound right.

But we're talking years of difference between those VHS tapes and the Platinums. I get what you mean, though, I just think they could have used those $10 in things that could benefit everyone, may be better features, disc art, or may be better offers. I doubt that the people that have the choice to pick between blu-ray and DVD and pick DVD will change their minds in the couple of months the coupon would be there.

It wouldn't be the first time Disney offered a $10 incentive to go Blu. I just checked my DVDs, and the $10 get-the-movie-again-on-Blu-Ray coupons were also in my Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End and Enchanted DVDs. The caveat was that they expired a month-and-a-half after the street date, so it didn't leave much of a window for the consumer to go Blu.rs_milo_whatever wrote:I just think they could have used those $10 in things that could benefit everyone, may be better features, disc art, or may be better offers. Still, I agree it seems silly (especially since the coupons expire so soon). Then again, someone could buy the DVD not thinking they'd ever get a PS3 or Blu-Ray player, then get one for Christmas. Then that $10 coupon will come in handy.

Prince Caspian: in-store bonuses?
Prince Caspian hits the shelves today. Does anybody know of any in-store bonuses?
I looked around on Walmart Canada's website but couldn't find anything. Same goes for Future Shop.

I looked around town. Future Shop had nothing, Walmart had a $5 off coupon on Christmas merchandise, or as they political-correctly put it "Holiday Merchandise"

I was hoping there would be a cool little bonus with this one as the movie didn't get much recognition during the summer, having been sandwiched between Iron Man and Indy.

None of our Wal Marts had any specials and in fact NONE of them had the SE dvd. I don't think there were any good exclusives like bonus discs, etc.. anywhere & the SE price at all B&M's were criminal.

With tax, the SE Prince Caspian cost me $36.77!buffalobill wrote:None of our Wal Marts had any specials and in fact NONE of them had the SE dvd. I don't think there were any good exclusives like bonus discs, etc.. anywhere & the SE price at all B&M's were criminal.
I remember when TLTW&TW came out in the 4-disc set. It was $34! This 3-disc is actually a rip-off. I think I'm going to switch to single disc releases.
