Back onto Australian DVD's, is Bambi 2 going to be discontinued soon, as it only lasted around 76 days in the USA or something? Is it good a movie worthy of buying?

hmmm...I think that punishment is for suing Disneyland for seeing one of their mascots without a head on
I can't believe people actually try to do that!

Ditto. I've got the PE on order from the US (as is the tradition) and I'll buy the local (PAL) copy when that comes out too. I'm actually getting a little buzz about this release!blaing wrote:I intend buying the twin pack when it comes out![]()

I am LOVING these bonus features. I'm so hyper for this release. I might go all out and buy an R1 release too, and possibly the soundtrack. We'll see how much money I have to spare.sambadude wrote:Audio Commentary With Ron Clements (Co-Writer, Co-Director), John Musker (Co-Writer, Co-Director) & Alan Menken (Composer)

"I don't know why...but I'm going to buy the twin-pack, the Single set of the original, and the gift set from the U.S.A (with lithographs and toys)"
Ooh, i hope you didn't order it from DisneyDirect, as they don't ship
DVDs to Australia. No Lithographs or toys for anyone in Australia, they say.
Yet they shipped my $AUD 586 Haunted Mansion sculpture without batting an eyelid.
Just buy it from the park itself. The Disneystore out in Downtown Disney sells the collections.
Don't forget to get the Japanese release too, as it has a much
better slip-cover and artwork.
Hooray for Little Mermaid, Woo.

It's not really a gift pack. More of a free gift with purchase type thing. Check out the link below to see what you get. I'm so annoyed they won't ship this to Australia!landofdisney wrote:Gift pack from USA? I need to know more. Anywhere that you can buy that will ship to Australia?

Anyone ever investigated why this can't be shipped to Australia? Is it something contractual with BHVE Australia or is there really no reason?
Also, from peoples past experience, is there generally a way to get these in (e.g. ebay shortly after release, friends in the US, etc?)

The website simply just doesn't offer international shipping like a lot of other DVD retail websites in the states eg Best Buy
Like HappyPug said it is possible to ring up Disneyland itself and buy it...although it may be a website exclusive product.
It will most likely turn up on eBay about a day or two after the release date but since people know international fans can't get it any other way they will be asking for a stupidly expensive price.

Buy it and see what happens.
Sign up, put your credit card through, get excited.
Then see what happens.
You'll get a confirmation email saying "Yes, heres your order number ooh and an exciting 10% next purchase electronic voucher"
And you'll be sitting there all excited cos you've only got a month a bit to wait till you get Little Mermaid.
Then, in the next 24 hours,
you'll get an email saying that they don't ship to Australia.
They don't give a reason, they just don't.
I asked a lady at Disneyland once why that was and she said....
" Oh, do our DVDs work there do they? "
Mmmm. Good to see people have stopped thinking Australians
live on farms and ride round in Kangaroos.
Shockingly we have DVD players too.
Legally, I think its because they don't want to deal with whinging trendy mums ordering it for their little princess daughter Bettina, who
orders it from Disney Direct, puts in the in her old crap Australian
non-multiregion DVD player, it doesn't work, gets
all huffy (as whinging mums do) and threatens to sue Disney for selling her a shoddy product.
Thats why they don't ship to non Region 1 countries.
Amazon warns you not to order DVDs if you don't know they'll work.
Disney's sites don't.
Heck try to buy a Five Grand crystal Beauty & The Beast Statue off
Disney Auctions. Even if you win, they don't send to Australia.
Cos it might break?
No. For no reason at all.
They've done it with every Platinum release to me.
But try it for yourself.
But fairly warned be thee says I.

Please don't imply that I'm lying. Why would I lie? To stop people from purchasing a good product?
Yes as HappyPug said you can go through the whole process and think you've pre-ordered your copy and then you get that email. I have no idea why. It makes no sense as there is no disclaimer on the product page about international shipping issues.
But by all means go ahead and try it yourself if you don't believe me...and HappyPug
