Love Taraji! She really does look like her, although I wasn't expecting her to be blue.

There wasn't. But Rich Moore was live-tweeting during the film. This is what was shared, pertaining to the sequel.
Never thought that we’d be creating a character who would be joining the ranks of the Disney princesses, but we had the pleasure of bringing them all back for a sequence in Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2. Can’t wait for you to see it!

The fact that Felix and Calhoun end up getting married sets the stage for a hilarious storyline in the sequel. Get ready.

It was great to see the film again as we're hard at work on the sequel. The trailer for Ralph Breaks the Internet is coming soon, VERY soon, I promise. Can't wait to hear what you think of it!

The teaser will probably be paired with A Wrinkle in Time in a few weeks. That's a nice departure from when we've had to wait until the summer for a teaser to Disney's November animated release.

What a generic poster. Even for a teaser poster.

I agree but I don't expect anything better for this movie. Do you remember the teaser poster for the first one? Just a pixelated Ralph head. None of the posters for WIR were appealing or artistic.

Yeah, but at least that was more involving than this teaser poster.

:smack:  After seeing the Wreck it Ralph 2 teaser poster, I decided to alter it to reflect the studio's current position.

 Honestly, if I had grown up with WDAS films of the 2010's, I wouldn't be a Disney fan today.

Most people today associate with Pixar, not WDAS :( I remember back in the 90s that a Walt Disney Feature Animation film was an event! Each year, it was a big thing. And that was before the days of the modern internet. That clearly isn't the case now a days. Pixar has taken that title. WDAS now is try to mimic the sequel success of it's rivals DreamWorks/Illumination & in house Pixar. I can only imagine what the 2020s hold

Rich Moore answered this to someone on Twitter:
popol: When's the trailer?

Rich Moore‏: Between now and Nov 21!

Does it mean that motion poster is all we're getting for now?

I don't think PIXAR releases are an "event" like they used to be. Too many duds with ambivalent response the past few years, I guess (Brave, the Cars series, The Good Dinosaur, etc.). Of course most PIXAR fans blame Disney for that, even though that doesn't make any sense. If anything, PIXAR has polluted WDAS; you can't even tell the studios apart anymore.

Oh, I'm sure the 2020's have much worse things in store for the world, at WDAS and otherwise.

I wouldn't mind the quality of the new films as much if Disney didn't make such an effort to taint their older films with lackluster physical releases and shoddy restorations. I can't even live on the classics from how they're being treated.

I think Pixar features do still have an impact. Brave/Inside Out & by this Sunday Coco are all Oscar winning features. And all were Box office hits $500-$800+million worldwide. Yeah, The Good Dino was a dud, but was overshadowed by Inside Out's sucess in 2016. The sequels were just released to make $$, nothing more, & that's exactly what they did. One thing about Pixar is that when they set features up, they usually stick with that for the long haul. Remember this image from D23 2015: teaser posters for TGD, Dory, Cars3, Coco, I2 & TS4. In about 1 year, this will ALL have been released, & each one had in impact, execpt TGD. Dory made over a Billion worldwide & broke Shrek 2's Animation Domestic record. Cars 3, while not a huge Box office hit, was overall well execpted by fans & brought back respectabilaty to the franchise. Coco, on the verge of hitting the $800 mark worldwide with Japan's upcoming release & will bring home another Oscar win for Pixar this Sunday. The Incredibles 2, it's teaser trailer has nearly 80 million views on Youtube & will likely be another Billion $ feature & Oscar winner. And then Toy Story 4. While most agree that part 3 ended perfectly, this one will still do HUGE business & possibly another Oscar win. Then in early 2020, Pixar will release 2 features almost 90 days apart, one in March & the other in June! One will be that Suburban Fantasy feature that was revield last year's D23.

This just shows that Pixar is just way ahead when it comes to planning for animated features.

There was plenty of excitement surrounding Zootopia, Moana and Big Hero 6 and they were pretty big box-office successes, so I can't quite agree with that statement. I'm sure once the marketing for Wreck-It Ralph 2 revs up, we'll be seeing a lot of buzz and Internet chatter surrounding its release. And of course, Frozen 2 is going to be a huge event that Disney is going to hype up like crazy.

As a designer myself, I really like the poster. They did a great job with the white background and the space. It's simple, but it gets the message well.
