http://www.animationmagazine.net/featur ... -new-pics/
Ramin Zahed wrote:The folks at Russia’s busy animation studio Wizart have let us know that they have unveiled posters and new trailers for their two big productions online today. The studio will be bringing the two movies to the Cannes festival and market this week for worldwide sales. The upcoming features are titled The Snow King and Sheep & Wolves and are both family comedies.

Wizart had great success with its 2012 title The Snow Queen, which was a loosely adapted version of the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, directed by Vladlen Barbe and Maxim Sveshnikov, with a screenplay by Barbe, and Vadim and Maxim Sveshnikov. The 80-minute CG-animated feature was released in Russia last December, distributed by Timur Bekmambetov’s company Bazelevs.

http://www.awn.com/news/films/wizart-br ... res-cannes
Jennifer Wolfe wrote:Cannes, France -- Wizart Animation started international pre-sales of two stereoscopic 3D features, the sequel to The Snow Queen: The Snow King and an original feature Sheep and Wolves.

As of April 2013 The Snow Queen has grossed $12.4 million at the box office in Russia and abroad (In Russia+CIS $9 million and $3.37 million in other territories). For comparison Russian films total theatrical box office outside of Russia+CIS in 2012 was $3.15 million. Of particular interest are South Korea ($1,507,784 ) and Brazil ($1,018,343), which is not only a strong result for the start of Wizart Animation’s first project internationally, but is an unprecedented performance for a Russian animation and a great achievement for the Russian film industry as a whole.

The Snow Queen has been released theatrically in Russia and the CIS, Ukraine, Brazil, South Korea, Israel, Turkey, UAE, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.

The sequel to The Snow Queen will be ready for delivery for winter 2014. After his victory over the Snow Queen in the first feature, the troll Orm has become a true hero but still has to learn that nothing can be won through deceit.

Wizart’s second project Sheep and Wolves has been developed in close collaboration with Russia’s highly commercially successful CTB and executive producer Sergei Selyanov. Sheep and Wolves is body swap family comedy playing on the well-known idiom of “a wolf in sheep's clothes.” Award-winning screenwriter, playwright, producer, and director Neil Landau has been taped to bring US writing talent to the production. Sheep and Wolves will be ready for delivery for winter 2014.

Neil's credits include Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead, Tad, the Lost Explorer, and the forthcoming animation Capture the Flag.

Vor the creators of "The Snow Queen" will present the illustration about "The Snow King"

Eugene Polukhina wrote:His story author - not the original source. However, as promised in Wizart Animation, we will see the familiar characters.

3D-animation "The Snow Queen," filmed in Voronezh last year, will show in the United States. The creators of the animated film studio Wizart Animation sold the rights of Vertical Entertainment. According to executive producer Vladimir Nikolayev, this company is good enough distributors, for the year they produce about 20 (24 to be exact) releases.

- "The Snow Queen" will be released in the U.S. later this year. The company has the right to distribute the cartoon in theaters, on DVD and on television - told the online newspaper "Vremya Voronezh" executive producer Vladimir Nikolayev. - In the past year, "Disney" took off like a cartoon, "Frozen," also based on Andersen's fairy tale "The Snow Queen." I think that's a plus for hire. People will want to see both interpretations to compare which is better. It is not necessary to release them at the same time.

As the producer, to date, "The Snow Queen" - the leader of the annual rental of Russian cartoons. Prior to this, no domestic picture is not so much the audience gathered in the international market. Tale shown in Brazil, Turkey, UAE, Ukraine. In addition, the rights to cartoon bought in France, Germany and Poland.

- "The Snow Queen" met our expectations - continued Vladimir Nikolayev. - The reviews are very good, like the audience, distributors happy. We are working on the second part of the cartoon. It will be called "Snow King." It is noteworthy that the characters had time to catch the fancy of the audience, and will remain in the sequel. But from Andersen's fairy tales we fully deflected. The plot of the author, not the original.

Continuation of the New Year's cartoon will be released in late 2014. The protagonist of the second part was the troll Orme, who, after defeating the Snow Queen regained freedom. The character played an important role in the history, but it's not enough. Funny exaggerating their adventures and achievements, he starts to lie, that person wins the Queen. Ahead of the troll waits marriage to the princess, power and wealth.

However, in the final after a fun-filled and dangerous adventures Orme understand that you can not get tricked friends, happiness and true love.

Recall, 3D-animation, loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale "The Snow Queen" was released on the eve of the New, 2013. Over 80 timinutnoy history animation studio Wizart Animation worked two years (more >>>).
