Re: New Cinderella Adaptation by Disney
You may be right, they may be testing different parts of the movie and the mice clothes is one. I just think Cinderella giving the animals clothes is so big that it would be hard to cut it unless they filmed alternate versions of parts of the movie, which they may have done.

She sort of clarified it today.
So, there's hope for you.i did not see the mice having any clothing on BUT the version i saw had the very limited CGI to the mice. all I saw was their fur coloring.

Re: New Cinderella Adaptation by Disney
I can see the transformation in live-acting being a real highlight to Cinderella and I agree with you on hoping the new movie will focus more on the humans than the animals; which what I was really worried about when this film was announced, that it was going to be like 101 Dalmatians where it's still the same movie (except for some changes) where the animals try to steal the film from them (blame John Hughes bad and sappy screenplay; except for Cruella's scenes).Disney Duster wrote:I'm really glad and excited to hear the transformation scene is so amazing and "better" than the original animation, though nothing could ever be better than the original for me!
I forgot to wonder if the birds are in this as well. I want them to be in it, partly because it puts some of the Grimm's version in like the original was a mix of both Perrault's and the Grimm's.
It is really weird one report said the mice had clothes but this one says they didn't. I am sad the animals won't have clothes, if they did decide not to give them clothes. Maybe they can change it back to them wearing clothes.
I do like very much that this will focus more on the humans, though, and give more screentime to Cinderella, the Prince, and the stepfamily and improve on the original in that way. I cannot believe the Fairy Godmother won't be in this at least a little more than in the original, since she starts out as a beggar woman and I thought she would watch over Cinderella till the ball and I just feel like she would at least be seen at the end in the wedding and stuff like that.

I really and truly fail to believe that the transformation scene will be better than the original … how can it ?!

I agree, I think it's pretty arrogant for them to even make that kind of statement. There's nothing wrong with taking pride in your work and having every confidence in it (especially if you've worked so hard on it) but they should've worded their statement more humbly; complimenting their work and how thrilled they are with the results without trivialising the original.Atlantica wrote:I really and truly fail to believe that the transformation scene will be better than the original … how can it ?!

Got it in one, universALLove, totally agree.
Also, I'm still not looking forward Lilly as Cinderella …. I think I love the animated Cinderella too much maybe? Gemma Craven didn't come close in 'The Slipper & The Rose' either for me…she just didn't have the guts and the slight sass that Illene gave her.
I know you guys are keen, but I still stand by my 'plank' statement earlier, especially after viewing the last series of Downton again.
Cate, the stepsisters and Helena are the real ones I'm looking forward to seeing onscreen. I expect a lot of scenery - chewing to go on!

I'm actually getting more and more used to the face of Lilly, and can see her as cinderella now, unlike in the beginning. Although Bella Heathcote would have been the perfect casting.Atlantica wrote:

Loving all the buzz I'm hearing of this so far, especially of the dress, which appears to be to die for.. (Just can't wait to see the first picture of it…hurry on Disney:) Even though the positive noice, I'm trying to be as calm as possible about the project, cause I know that most of those I was looking forward to, turned out disappointing(Oz and Alice)

You do realize I was quoting an Internet Movie Database user who saw an unfinished version of the film, right? She wasn't involved in its making at all...universALLove wrote:I agree, I think it's pretty arrogant for them to even make that kind of statement. To be honest I didn't read any of your posts, I saw this...Old Fish Tale wrote:You do realize I was quoting an Internet Movie Database user who saw an unfinished version of the film, right? She wasn't involved in its making at all...
and assumed the makers had made that claim hence Disney Duster quoted "better".Disney Duster wrote:I'm really glad and excited to hear the transformation scene is so amazing and "better" than the original animation, though nothing could ever be better than the original for me.
My bad, I obviously took it out of context.

Re: New Cinderella Adaptation by Disney
I'm glad you're now looking forward to this Musical Master!
I, too, eagerly await the dress Toky, but I want to wait for it because it makes it special and I get to just think about it so long before I get to see it. Of course, I'll think about it a lot after I see it too, lol.
Bella Heathcote didn't stand out to me as very good in Dark Shadows, so I don't think I would want her. It sounds like Lily was good from what people have been saying. I really don't want this ruined for me, so I will keep being hopeful and looking forward to Lily as Cinderella! Even though I love the original character so much, Lily's will just be a different version I can also love, though probably never as much as the original.

Thanks, I was skeptical about it at first, but now I can't wait for it!Disney Duster wrote:I'm glad you're now looking forward to this Musical Master!

I think that Cate, Lily, and Helena are going to steal this movie for me personally, for they are all talented and perfectly cast and it's good to know from what people have been saying about it from the early screenings plus it has a really talented director at the helm. Here's to us and to this movie.

Well, that kind of sucks given that she's my favorite character on that show, but I guess promoting "Cinderella" is a good reason.

Re: New Cinderella Adaptation by Disney
I'm sorry she has to leave the show, at least for most of the next season. I hope they didn't force her against what she wanted to do. But I'm glad she will be promoting Cinderella!
Sorry, I got to this late. You're right! I could go with her noticing her or not. I would like her to notice her and have some interaction but we'll see. And thanks for liking my idea!Old Fish Tale wrote:I want that too! It sounds so great! I'm so lucky! More dramatic? Ooohh how awseome! And maybe there being a teaser means we will see something soon! I can wait though, too, just dreaming about it! I don't want too much too soon, either.

Yeah same here.Atlantica wrote:I really and truly fail to believe that the transformation scene will be better than the original … how can it ?!
Sounds like something you would say to try and hype up the movie. Could be wrong, it might end up actually being better than the original, but doubt it.
Re: New Cinderella Adaptation by Disney
Yeah, it probably is that.
I think it would be wonderful for them to release a teaser with Maleficent. No footage necessarily, but something really clever / mysterious.
Something like the teaser for Cinderella: A Twist In Time perhaps?
