Is it likely that the sequels will be released seperately, eventually? I'd be interested in The Lion King II: Simba's Pride, but not The Lion King 1 1/2.

Okay, I'm probably kicking a dead horse, but will the Blu-ray have two Blu-ray discs and one DVD, or one Blu-ray Disc and one DVD?

It seems the standard Blu-ray combo pack will have one Blu-ray disc and one DVD disc, both copies of the movie. The 3D Blu-ray version will include two Blu-rays (3D and standard), the DVD copy, and a digital copy.

AKA all the bonus features will be on one disc with the movie. I'm sensing Bambi Redux. I hope this time the special features will at least be navigatable, as opposed to the PE's clusterfuck of a menu.

So everyone used "Bambi is short" excuse for its lack of 2 discs and features, what about the Lion King?

Slacking off already, are we Disney?

I guess Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and Beauty and the Beast will be the only 2-disc Disney Blus.

Maybe they think that with all that Cars and Winnie the Pooh merchandise this year they'll be set for the next decade so they can afford to do the least bit possible. Good on you Iger!

The box set looks nice, but I hope they release the sequels separate. Would rather have 3 Blu-ray cases instead of the set... Unless the set has decent inside packaging/cases for each movie.

Impossible, since those larger discs will never be used for consumer products. 50 GB will be the maximum, unless there's an entirely new format released.

The Lion King is still only 89 minutes long, so that and the bonus features (even if they're in HD) could still easily fit on one disc. I'd be disappointed if they re-used the same mediocre extras from the Platinum Edition, but the number of discs used will hardly be worth a complaint from me.

^The VHS covers were the best. I loved all of them and the characters were on model.

The DVD covers were ok, and the Blu-ray covers have been dreadful

Fantasia 2:05
Pinocchio 1:28
Lion King 1:27
Beauty and the Beast 1:24
Snow White 1:23
Fantasia 2000 1:15
Sleeping Beauty 1:15
Bambi 1:10

I know everyone wants to defend Disney here but that excuse is pathetic.

Only Hercules, Mulan, Treasure Planet and Atlantis of catalogue Disney are longer than The Lion King. Might as well start the "it's okay that all the package features are on one disc because they're not really that long and no one cares about them" or "it's so great they've given us Herc, Hunch, Tarzan and TENG on one disc so we can expand our Disney collections faster".

And I suppose I don't have to remind you that this happened the last go around with the Lion King Platinum edition.

Defending, defending, defending like sheep. Disney rewarded all of you with the wonderful Peter Pan special feature: PETER PAN AGAIN WITH LYRICS aka SUBTITLES!

So happy to see that the sequels will be available on blu-ray! They are the only few direct to video sequels I actully really enjoy.

I'm dissapointed about only one disc! Snow White and Beauty and the Beast had brilliant 2-disc releases, I don't see why The Lion King (which is pretty well Disney's most popular film, along with B&tB) is not deservant of this, if not more than the others...
I actually don't mind the artwork now and its good they fixed Nala! haha. And love it with the white Diamond Edition border!
The trilogy set looks pretty exciting!! Can't wait!

I really don't think that The Lion King needs two BDs, 2 BD50s anyway. It's not like all the features from the platinum edition couldn't fit on one BD along with the film. Perhaps they'll be done through BD Live though. What I don't get is Disney's obsession with combo packs. I don't need a DVD, I have Blu-Ray players, why must I unnecessarily buy an outdated format. I don't really need a Digital Copy either, if I did I could just rip the Blu-Ray.

I'll probably get the set but buying the Lion King 3 or 1 1/2 really pains me as it is, without a doubt, the worst Disney sequel I've ever had the displeasure of seeing and it takes the original film and utterly ruins everything about it. I think 2 is the best of the Disney sequels though and I'll be glad to own it. I'm quite interested in seeing how the 3D looks, I have a 3DTV but I'm not a fan of conversions and I just can't picture 2D animation in 3D.

That FernGully VHS snuck in there almost seems like you want us to play a game of "which one of these is not like the other?"

I wanted to point out that Amazon is offering eight dollar coupons for Beauty and the Beast: 5-Disc Combo, The Lion King: 4-Disc Combo, and The Lion King Trilogy Boxset.

I really really want Lion King 1 1/2 on Blu-ray... however I really really DON'T want Lion King II on Blu-ray :l

I also don't want a big box (I don't have lots of room O_O lol). So does anyone think there's a chance that Lion King 1 1/2 could come out on Blu-ray separately?

I'll probably pick up the 4-disc combo. I don't plan on getting a 3D TV in the near future so I'm getting it mainly for the digital copy. And it's only just a little bit more money than the 2-disc combo, and this way if I ever DO get a 3D TV I'll have a movie to watch on it lol.
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

Umm... okay. Either Disney is becoming very cheap or they're becoming really lazy. Either way, I don't like what they're planning with only one BD and one DVD. :(
