Hey ColorsOfTheWind! I had a quick question. I was wondering how the "doing justice to the villain" scene goes? I don't want to know what happens, but I wanted to know whether it does justice or not to previous Disney movies.

I like your descriptions ColorsOfTheWind! I was a little concerned about Ray and Louis being mediocre sidekicks, but watching a trailer that features them earlier made me like Louis. I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes my favorite character. Alligators and crocodiles are some of my favorite animals and he looks like an entertaining character. I have a feeling though that he isn't a true alligator but a human turned into one. Is that true? Don't give me any spoilers now!

I'm glad to hear that Dr. Facilier is a great villain. Apprently he must be the creepy type, but is he similar to any of the past villains when it comes to character?

By "doing justice to the villain," do you mean how is he defeated? Or if he's just a villain like those from the previous movies? If you could elaborate more, that would be great. Sorry I don't understand what you're asking :P

Yeah, Ray and Louis are pretty great characters and very funny. I think they're wonderful and entertaining sidekicks, and Louis is definitely memorable because of his personality. But no, he isn't human. He's just a regular ol' alligator with a love for jazz  He does WISH to be human so that he can play jazz with the big boys, but I won't tell you how that ends

Dr. Facilier is pretty menacing and creepy in a way that I don't think we've seen before, mostly because of his profession as a witch doctor and his dealings with magic. He isn't overly comical like I've heard some people were afraid of. He's very casual, but very cunning. I think the fact that he's one of the few villains - actually, I think the ONLY villain - to deal with blood kind of freaked me out too (but in a good way - it made me that much more afraid of him :) ). Even though I wish I could have seen more of him, Dr. Facilier was, I think, a great villain.

hew no problem...I can be confusing! What I meant was the scene when they do defeat him (because I'm sure is a scene where this happens), is it a big scene and memorable? Okay here I go confusing myself again! Here's an example, in Little Mermaid, Ursula becomes a giant version of herself and begins to try to kill Ariel, but then Eric comes with a boat and kills Ursula. That scene is very climatic and very exciting. I was wondering if in PatF there's a scene that's as exciting as previous movies, or is just average?

Apparently, in an earlier version of the script, Louis was going to be a human transformed into a alligator, but Clements and Musker decided to simply make him a regular jazz-playing alligator to not get too complicated. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

I saw the movie last night a 9:30pm! It was so amazing! I looooooved it! I can't wait to see it again Dec. 11. The songs were amazing and I played the soundtrack 3 times on the drive home.... LOL

Sadly I started losing my voice right before the movie started and became really sick.... :( Sorry for such a short post, but I need to rest! haha!

Ok, that's what I thought you meant, but I just wanted to clarify :)

Minor spoilers ahead, so BE FOREWARNED. They're just VAGUELY describing how the villain is defeated, though, which happens in pretty much every Disney movie so it's not really spoilers :P

I think the scene in which they defeat him is really well done, but it's not in the traditional "prince or princess climatically fights villain and villain is slain." It's hard to describe what happens to Dr. Facilier without giving too much away, but he gets what's coming to him. They use a reprise of his song against him, which I thought was so great because it made the scene very intense. What physically happens to him, though, is really creepy and equally intense and made me say, to put it frankly, "Wow, that sucks for Dr. Facilier..." So, in a way, the main characters do defeat him, but the way in which he is REALLY defeated is quite different from what we've seen in past movies. :)

I hope that made sense  Once you see the movie, I think you'll get what I'm talking about. If you have any other questions or you what something I said cleared up, I'm happy to oblige!

K thank you so much! That was great! I've always liked the climatic fight scene so thanks for the description. It sounds like this is going to be a really good movie! Ugh, December 11 is taking way too long to come!

Thanks for clarifying on Louis! :) I can't wait to see how great he'll be.

So Dr. Facilier is a one of a kind?! :o That's a good thing, because often times Disney Villains are either power-hungry, jealous, or full of lust. I did know that he was more greedy and that he's not out to conquer the south but make life miserable for the protiagonists, which is a villain's true goal.

Once again, minor spoilers :)

Well, Dr. Facilier IS kind of out to conquer the south. But it's not the normal reason of "I want to be all-powerful." I'd say that's only part of the reason. There's a...higher power, shall we say, that he owes and that's the big reason he's doing the things he does. I hope this didn't give away too much!

Question:
How the heck to I get tickets to the LA showings? The web site is not only extremely hard to find, but navigate. Once I did get there, you can't click on the seating area. Anyone else having trouble with this?

I'm still really skeptical. I hate Randy Newman, and what I've heard of the music really doesn't disappoint, because I expected nothing from him, but it certainly doesn't surpass expectations. I hope I eat these words.

When you click on the seating area, or the little buttons on the left hand corner... if nothing comes up then I believe they are sold out.

I wouldn't mind seeing this in the Ziegfeld, but at $30 a pop for general admission... yeah, I can wait until general release. I'm excited, but I'm not $30 plus surcharge excited.

ColorsOfTheWind: could you tell me what is the humor in this movie? I hope it isn't Dreamworks humor with toilet humor or something like that...

Could you tell me something about Lawrence, Naveen's valet?

I can't even sit and do my university homework without thinking of it! I always find myself thinking of it and I need December 11th to be now!!!!!! I actually told my friends I think this movie is causing me to have insomnia :P! Today I was driving back home from fixing my car and I just out of no where started singing "Dig a little Deeper", and PatF wasn't even in my mind at the time!

The humor, in my opinion, is fantastic! I was worried that it was going to be more aimed towards children because of Ray's lines in the commercials and such, but I was pleasantly surprised. There is so much humor in this movie for everyone. The entire theater, which was made up of mostly adults, was laughing. It's definitely not toilet humor :)

I'm afraid if I talk about Lawrence, I might give away plot spoilers! All I can really say is that, as Dr. Facilier notes, he's been pushed around all his life. Because of that, he's a bit hungry for some type of power and control. I can describe him further, but it might give away plot details I'm not sure you want to know. If you do want to know, however, I'm happy to tell you!

I agree, the $30 admission is ridiculous. Does anyone know of any discounts? Perhaps for Annual Passholders, or anything?
