The Legendary Miss Britney Spears

"If U Seek Amy" is a fun song and all, but I think "Blur" would have been the best contender for the third single. It's totally different than anything she's released before, and the video would have been bad ass!
I was thinking the whole thing should take place from Britney's perspective. It could start off with her as she wakes up in the morning, showing everything from her eyes opening and adjusting to the light, to hearing her heart pounding as she realizes she's not where she should be. The only time we would even see her face is through mirrors hung up around the apartment. It could be almost like a short film, with little breaks in between the song as she talks to the guy, tries to find her things, etc.
But whatever! Coulda, woulda, shoulda.

Britney Spears has reportedly been forced to rerecord her upcoming single “If U Seek Amy” after radio stations across the U.S. threatened to ban the song due to its controversial lyrics.
The Toxic hitmaker’s track features the chorus “All of the boys and all of the girls are beggin’ to, if you seek Amy” - with the last four words sounding like “F-u-c-k me” when sung quickly.
Many DJs reportedly planned to ban the track deeming it too offensive to broadcast.
But Spears has now stepped back into the studio to rerecord the song, dropping the “k” from the end of “seek” and renaming the song “If You See Amy”, reports U.K. newspaper The Sun

"If U See Amy" - not very sensible lyrics - or a grammatically correct title, but hey, it works. Plus, according to Wiki (I know, not very reliable, but whatever), only the radio version of the song will be "If U See Amy", and the music video will still say "If U Seek Amy". I hope the single does better than "Circus" did/is doing, because not many radio stations in my area play that song, and the ones that do play "Womanizer" at least twice as much as they play "Circus".

That annoys me. A lot of times I want to hear Circus, but all they ever play now is Womanizer.DisneyFreak5282 wrote:I hope the single does better than "Circus" did/is doing, because not many radio stations in my area play that song, and the ones that do play "Womanizer" at least twice as much as they play "Circus".
And this whole If U Seek Amy controversy is bullshit, IMO. To be perfectly honest, I never noticed the "secret meaning" of the song until the media brought it to my attention. They should just play the song as is. There are TONS of songs out there that are much worse than Britney spelling out a stupid little word.
BTW, I don't know how many of you here read Perez Hilton, but he's just announced that he's gonna be part of Brit's new Circus tour. No details have been revealed yet though.

I hate that too. I don't really think Womanizer is even that good of a song. However, I think Circus is great, I would say it's probably one of her top 5 singles. It's got a really great beat and it's fun and catchy!xxhplinkxx wrote:That annoys me. Ok, so I just got a call from Perez (don't ask, unless you're a regular reader, you won't get it, lol)
Apparently he is featured in the video that will open the show.

I agree that it is pretty annoying. As for the whole song's controversy, I really wish I could have heard the song before I knew what it meant - someone posted the track listing and it was something likexxhplinkxx wrote:That annoys me. From the Britney.com email in my inbox:
Britney: For The Record on DVD
The ground-breaking documentary that showed fans what it's really like to walk in Britney’s shoes will be released to DVD on April 7. Britney: For The Record first aired back in November on MTV and chronicles B's "comeback" (even though she never left!) from the 2008 VMAs to the release of her Circus album. The DVD includes rare scenes that didn't air on MTV, as well as six bonus remixes of Britney's "Womanizer" and "Circus" singles. Can’t wait!

Circus did pretty well, at least in the US - it peaked at #3 on the Hot 100 and #7 on the Hot 100 Airplay.
And I agree that the IUSA controversy is a big steaming pile of shit. There's far more offensive songs on radio - isn't Flo Rida's new song about getting oral sex?
Of course, all this would have been solved if they'd just released Kill The Lights, the song I wanted.
I saw the tour setlist, and...it's lame.

I'm thinking that there's gonna be some surprises during the show. Think about it...Ooh Ooh Baby but no Gimme More? It just doesn't make sense! And where the hell is Oops! and Crazy?! Those are two songs that defined Britney as an artist. Plus, we know for a FACT that she's rehearsed Mannequin and Kill the Lights.
I'm certain that setlist isn't complete.
As for the tour trailer...
I shed a tear. No lie. I don't even want to know what I'll be like at the actual show!

If you wanna be my lover
you have got to give
making it's too easy
but that's the way it is
If you wanna be my lover
you gotta get with my friends
making it's too easy
cause friendship never ends!
I'll tell ya what I want. What I really, really want!
So tell me what you want, what you really, really want!
I wann huh, I wanna huh, I wanna huh!
I wanna really, really, really. Wanna zigazig. Ahhhhhhh!
Course, I could've shortened it a little, but you get my point.
