I went to last year's concert here in Houston. Without question, it was THE cheesiest, most overpriced, most uninteresting concert I've ever been to, despite the obvious talent of some of the performers, who primarily sang (what else?) the same exact cover songs they did on the show (or, in some cases, other cover songs). The funniest part was after the concert, when the overexcited Pop-Tarts hustlers were passing out free frozen chocolate mint Pop-Tarts to everyone.

Seriously, if you've never been to a live concert, avoid this one. If you've been to a live concert, avoid this one. It's just not worth the cost and hassle. I've seen better free concerts at county fairs. (By way of comparison, when Prince performed here a couple of years ago, not only were the tickets cheaper (although the seats weren't the most comfortable, even if the viewlines were great), but the show was truly memorable and worth the price I paid.)

Bon Jovi week turned out to be a great one. LaKisha gave the best performance of the night, followed closely by Chris and Blake (who thankfully brought back his beat-boxing and creative song interpretations, though it may have edged on excess). Melinda was pretty good and raspier than we've seen her before, which I thought was a nice change of pace. Phil Stacey probably gave his best performance yet, though I still think there's nothing overly special about his voice. Jordin surprisingly gave the worst performance -- I'd excuse that by saying Bon Jovi music isn't her style of music, but everyone else managed to overcome that.

I was disappointed that no one did "It's My Life." Other than that, though, the song choices were great overall. I'm still waiting for Bon Jovi to release a proper Greatest Hits album.

Phil definitely needed to go home, so I was pleased with that result. I would have preferred to see Blake go over Chris, but at this point, you have to accept that talented people are going to be leaving. Overall, I'm pleased with the final four. I'm still rooting for LaKisha to win and looking for either Blake or Jordin to go home next, depending on next week's performances.

Anybody know the mentor/theme for next week?

You weren't paying attention on Wednesday night.........they said it twice, it is going to be the music of the Bee Gees with Barry Gibb as the mentor.

Should be an interesting week for all the Top Four.

I absolutley LOVED Blake's performance during Bon Jovi week. Granted, he's my favorite of all of them but I just thought that was SO original, especially for this show that doesn't necessarily embrace people that really take risks.
I also thought Melinda and Lakisha were outstanding. Heck,I kind of thought everyone was great but Chris and Jordin.

And even though Chris needed to get the boot I thought the whole Chris and Blake are best friends forever was really sweet.

Well the rest of the season seems pretty predictable to me. Lakisha will probably go home on Wednesday night, followed by Blake, then Jordin. Leaving Melinda crowned the next American Idol (although I hope the order goes Blake, Jordin, Lakisha and Melinda).

I will be interested in hearing which entry wins to be her first single though.

I think Jordin is lined up to be the next American Idol, despite her performance last week.

And also - I think the finale will be between Jordin and Blake.

Opinions are opinions, but I think you all need to take a good look at what has been going on since day one. This is Melinda's game to lose, and I don't think that a Bee Gees week is going to slow her down. I believe that the finals will be between Melinda and Jordin. With Melinda winning in a landslide. Remember Jordin is only 17 and has had no formal training. She will get all she needs even if she comes in second. It will be interesting to see her choice of music after this is all over.

Looks like only Chris Daughtry from last season can say that he has broken out of the mold of American Idol. Katherine McPhee, Bucky Covington, Taylor Hicks, and Elliot Yamin all had albums that didn't impress anyone with their sales. Kellie Pickler's album is second in sales totals to Daughtry's.

This week it will be either LaKisha or Blake to get voted off.

After tonight I think LaKisha is going home, although I wished it was Blake.

Blake's beatboxing again messed up some songs. I'm growing tired of him, but he is picking up steam. I wouldn't be surprised if he made it to the finale. I still think Jordin is our next American Idol.

It is Melinda's game to lose, and according to DialIdol she is losing it this week. They have her down with LaKisha in the bottom 2 so far. Hopefully as more votes come in she will move up a little. I would hate to see Melinda get voted out early. I still think she could be in the finale.

Melinda/Jordin finale would really be nice, and hopefully it happens.

BLAKE LEWIS BEAT-BOXES HIS WAY OFF AMERICAN IDOL!!!

After tonight's show, it took me a while to rewatch it once more and I believe that we will see it be an all-girl final three next week.

I think that Blake Lewis picked the wrong songs for his talent, and he overdid the 'beat-box' thing on both songs. He has enough talent without doing that all the time. There is a time and a place for it, and I don't think Bee Gees songs are the place for a 'beat-box' routine. Simon Cowell got it right tonight.

I think LaKisha, while being pretty poor with choice and delivery of songs, did a lot better than Blake, and I think we will see all three of the ladies in the Final Three next week.

Jordin was just out and out amazing, and is slowly making me a believer that she could be our next American Idol. I have said all along that it was Melinda's title to lose, and tonight I think that Jordin took a big step toward being in the final two.

Kellie Pickler isn't bad. She's sort of cute, in her own way, and I personally love the song I Wonder.

Oh no! I'm going to be SO upset if Melinda is off tonight. She is my absolute favorite Idol EVER!... ok. Calming down.

I wish LaKisha would go tonight just for the fact that I like her the least out of the four remaining, but I do like her and she has a great voice. I just get bored with her performances.

As big of a Blake fan as I am, Blake was the worst of the night and he should have kept the beat boxing to a minimum at this stage in the competition.

I'm not a Beegees fan, so I didn't like any of the actual songs, but Jordin gave the best performances of the night, followed by Melinda.

If Melinda and LaKisha are in the bottom two as DialIdol is claiming, then I really hope LaKish goes home.

Blake's beat-boxing was really annoying last night. And to make matters worse he choose to do it in both songs. Awful.

Tough call though as to who's heading home. Blake or Lakisha. It would be sad to see Lakisha go, so I'm hoping for Blake.

By the way, who thinks of these theme nights anyways? I mean disco and the Bee Gees? This is 2007, not 1977. No wonder these poor contestants never get a chance to shine with horrible songs like that.

This week's theme was terrible and Barry Gibb was a joke on both nights. Perhaps an all-time low for this show. I could buy a gimmick like that early on in the season, but not for the final four. Come one.

Blake's two songs were by far the worst. I've grown increasingly tired of him and am definitely ready to see him go. Melinda was solid but not amazing in either of her two. Jordin's first song was the night's best while her second was a little below Melinda.

LaKisha impressed me with how original she was able to make "Stayin' Alive." The judges criticizing her for not singing it in the style of the original was ridiculous -- these aren't chipmunks, they're people. If you're going to go with a BeeGees theme, then get ready for some altered octaves. Only Blake chose to stay in that range and look how his songs turned out. LaKisha's second song was probably the best of the night.

It's an outright injustice that LaKisha left tonight. She was the best of the final four and my favorite since the first episode. It's a real shame, but like Jennifer Hudson, there will hopefully be better things in her future. I'm proud of her for making it to the final four.

I expect Blake to be the next votefortheworst pick, though whatever influence that may or may not have had earlier in the season seems to have diminished. Either way, I'm really hoping he goes home next week. I can't say I'm that enthused for the rest of this season now, but if I vote, it will be for both Melinda and Jordin to ensure that they make the finale and Blake goes home.

Bummer about Lakisha. I enjoyed her. Here's hoping she has a great post-Idol career.

On a sidenote, kinda of a desperate plug from Jessica Alba about her crappy new movie ("see it twice!"). Were the other cast members not allowed to speak in her presence? She mentions that she was "so excited to be here" yet when the end credits rolled she wasn't even there anymore. Get the plug in and bolt. Classy Jessica.

I'm just glad Melinda wasn't gone. I was hoping it would be either LaKisha or Blake. And even though I've been a big supporter of Blake and I've grown tired of LaKisha, Blake deffinatley deserved to leave tonight. I keep thinking back to the top 24 when I thought that it would come down to LaKisha and Melinda with Melinda winning. However, Jordin has improved so much and grown on me and at this point as long as both are the top 2, I'm fine with either one winning. I'm still a little more of a Melinda fan, but either way is fine with me. Just as long as Blake is not in the top 2 because that would seem so wrong. I really hope that all of the top 4 get record deals, though.

Next week will be interesting because the Top Three get to go home and visit their home towns and see their friends for the first time in a long time. And the judges will be picking one of the songs that they sing that night. Each contestant will sing two songs, and then Wednesday night we will see who the top two are, and it better be Jordin and Melinda.

WHOO HOO! Blake is safe! Though I can honestly say that I didn't want anyone to go home this week. I think they are all exceptionally talented. This has been one of the best, if not the best, Top Four in American Idol history.

Ryan said that this year's Top Six is the first group that actually got a long with each other. He claims that while all the other season's contestants appeared to be supportive on-camera, it was a totally different story off-camera. He said that this group is full of genuinely nice people and that they all get a long extremely well. That makes me like them even more!
