The HDRoom.com has posted complete specs:

Disc 1
* Audio Commentary with Director Andrew Adamson
* BD-Live (Blu-ray exclusive)
* Circle-Vision Interactive: Creating the Castle Raid (Blu-ray exclusive)

Disc 2
* The Bloopers of Narnia
* Deleted Scenes
* Inside Narnia: The Adventure Returns
* Sets of Narnia: A Classic Comes to Life
* Big Movies Comes to a Small Town
* Previsualizing Narnia
* Talking Animals and Walking Trees: The Magical World of Narnia
* Secrets of the Duel
* Becoming Trumpkin
* Warwick Davis: The Man Behind Nikabrik

Disc 3
* DisneyFile Digital Copy

Hmm...Overall it looks solid, but I'm a bit concerned about the commentary. It was reported that Adamson would be joined by several yet-to-be-named cast members, but this seem to indicate a solo track. That would be disappointing (no offense to Adamson, of course) since the track with him and the kids on the first film was hilarious. Also, there was supposedly going to be 9 featurettes, but I only see 8 if you don't include the BD-exclusive castle raid feature.

Ooh, are they going to have a circular theatre pop out of the television so you'll have to look all around you to see what's going on? :P :lol: ;)
Kelvin wrote:* Becoming Trumpkin
* Warwick Davis: The Man Behind Nikabrik
I have nothing against Peter Dinklage or Warwick Davis, I think both are amazing actors who've done great parts in films. But I would have thought that a featurette focusing on Ben Barnes (who is, after all, the titular character in the movie) would be more apropos for the DVD.

Agreed.

Perhaps one of them is an umbrella title that is comprised of two featurettes.

God love the BBFC, and thank you Disney for not being too skimpy on the bonus features after all...

Having SIX easter eggs is awesome since there weren't that many on the LWW one. Also, while I'd have preferred a format similar to LWW (a director-focused documentary, a children-focused documentary, along with a host of mini-docs about various aspects of production), it's nice that we're getting three lengthy featurettes (one even flirting beyond the 30-minute mark!) along with a nice amount of smaller focused ones. I hope the deleted scenes will be in finished form, but I'd understand if it'd be scenes without any green-screen (or green-pants) effects put in. I really hope that galleries will be included too (even though they're not mentioned). And if the trailer was included, I'd be on cloud 9. Alas, I'll have to settle for cloud 8.

All in all, looks like a solid release! Can't wait for it to come to DVD now!

Thanks, Albert! It definitely looks like a meaty release. Maybe not as a in-depth as LWW's, but that's understandable considering there's less to say when you've assembled the same cast and crew. I, too, hope there's a gallery included, but I somehow doubt that. At least I have my official movie companion book to sustain me in that regard. As for the trailer, I'd love to have it included, too, but I won't complain too loudly since I've got it on my Enchanted BD.

It makes me relieved that Disney is giving this first class treatment despite the somewhat disappointing box office. Heck, they're giving this title more love than Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End and National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets, two films that outgrossed it (and yet don't even get 90 minutes' worth of supplements each compared to the 142 for this one).

Thanks for the update on the "Prince Caspian" release. Sounds like there will be a pretty decent amount of bonus features. I will be picking up the "3-Disc Collectors Edition" when it comes out.

I must confess; I didn't the original Narnia film THAT appealing.

OK, it was a good movie and I liked the effects and the characters, but I didn't become engrossed by it all. So its natural that when Caspian was announced I didn't pay much attention to it.

Hopefully, when the DVD comes out I am proven wrong.

Again, no offense towards those that loved the movies. Just saying that for some reason in didn't grab ME.

I gotta say, I am still loving that cover art! I am really looking forward to this release and am very glad Disney is giving it the proper treatment it deserves.

True. It wouldn't do much to have another "Cinematic Storytellers" with the same people just saying, "yeah, we're doing this kind of stuff again, only now it's for Prince Caspian", lol.

Still, I wish they had a "Creating Creatures" section, as there's plenty of new and different characters and designs Narnia that are worth an individual look. Hopefully they'll be given their due in the three big featurettes and not just limited to the "Magical World of Narnia" featurette.
Kelvin wrote:I, too, hope there's a gallery included, but I somehow doubt that. At least I have my official movie companion book to sustain me in that regard.
:lol:

That's exactly why I wanted a gallery. I don't have the companion book yet!
Kelvin wrote:As for the trailer, I'd love to have it included, too, but I won't complain too loudly since I've got it on my Enchanted BD.
Yeah, perhaps one day someone will compile a list of what DVDs to find certain trailers since they don't appear on the film's DVD anymore. But at the same time, it's an annoyance to have to grab the Enchanted DVD just to see the trailer for Prince Caspian.

Maybe they finally heard enough complaints from me? :P

Plus, the POTC3 DVD is better if you include the Best Buy bonus disc. ;) Hell, all the material on that disc should've been on the two-disc (there certainly was room!).

Damn you, Disney, and your need to create store-exclusive bonus discs:

THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: PRINCE CASPIAN - RETAILER BONUS DISC Video Feature
Classified 23 September, 2008 . Run Time 36m 5s

00:05:26:03 ENTER THE PRINCE: INTRODUCING BEN BARNES
00:10:40:16 CRAFTING CASPIAN: DESIGN
ARTISTRY & CINEMATIC SKILL
00:19:57:19 (ANATOMY OF A SCENE: THE CASTLE RAID)

Combined with the regular two-disc extras, that's nearly 3 hours of documentaries/featurettes, making it nearly on-par with the LWW release. At the same time, I'm still pissed off that this type of material (especially the always-cool-to-watch "Anatomy of a Scene") is relegated to store-exclusive status. The Ben Barnes piece is shorter than I'd like (after all, the "children" documentary on LWW was about 26 minutes, IIRC), especially as it concerns an important character. But at least we're getting a featurette about the titular character (something I complained was absent in the regular release, yet they managed to include two featurettes about Trumpkin and Nikabrik...). I have a feeling this will be either a Target or Best Buy bonus disc (I'm leaning more towards Best Buy).

Hmm...I wonder if this bonus disc will be like the Best Buy one for Dead Man's Chest and include domestic and international trailers. One can dream...

Ahhhh...I was planning on asking for this for Christmas since I always stop buying things for myself in November and December in order to give people a fighting chance at getting me something I don't have. Now with this bonus disc, I've got to specify to my parents that I want the copy sold at (insert retailer who's going to be carrying this), which makes me seem rather petty. Then again, maybe I won't have to. Best Buy is really the only decent place to buy DVDs around here now that my FYE has closed, and our Wal-Mart's selection is sucky. Or, you know, I could just break my own rule and get the dang thing myself. I did that with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix last year since I didn't want to wait till Christmas.

Oh, I love the cover art! Here in Norway Prince Caspian will be relased on the 19th of November (the same day as we get Sleeping Beauty).

Just do what I always do. Pick one or two titles that you designate as the Christmas Gift for yourself, and make it known that you'll buy it. That's how I got Stardust last year. ;)

So, what do you all think is the possibility that we'll see another more than 2-disc set for this release like we did for The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe?

I'm curious because I was recently able to get the 4-disc collector's set at fye for pretty cheap, and i would like to maintain a consistancy with the films. I'd hate to have a 4-disc set of the first and have to settle for a 2-disc set for the second (especially when I prefer the second to the first)

I would love for Prince Caspian to get a four-disc set as well (like you, I prefer it to LWW).

However, I think due to its less-than-expected intake in the box office, along with the fact that deleted scenes are already present on the disc, that they may not release a 4-disc set a few months later the way they did for LWW. Or, they'll likely hold off until 2010 when Voyage of the Dawn Treader hits theatres.

And as glad as I am for the special features we are getting, I'm still upset that they weren't consistent with the special features from LWW (a director documentary, a children documentary, the entire "Evolution of an Epic" mini-docs, etc.). It's understandable as it's much of the same crew (as Kelvin pointed out), but it's still an entirely different world, so to speak, that can be explained and dissected.

Also, the four-disc benefited from having a C.S. Lewis documentary that was the entirety of the third disc, and unless they want to spread the special features out too thin, I can't see them making another Lewis documentary, unless instead they want to focus on the Narnia book series (but then, of course, it bears the question of what disc-three documentary will be on the remaining films). Disc Four's "Visualising Narnia" is something I'd definitely love to see return, though, and is something that can done for both Blu-Ray and DVD.

I find it unlikely for there to be a 4-disc but i really don't find reason for there not to be a 3-disc with maybe something else material like lithographs to fill the space left in my heart for a 4th disc.

I would love if they dove into the history of what happened in narnia between both films. If disney were to release something like a documentary on the years between I would definately buy, and I could see this being in a set with the film.

A three-disc set would be good (so long as it had "Visualising Narnia"), but at the same time, a four-disc set is possible.

For example, if they covered like, four more major scenes (beyond the Castle Raid) in "Anatomy of a Scene" style featurettes, that could easily take up 35-40 minutes

Then if they brought back Evolution of an Epic (the mini-docs focusing either on creatures of Narnia or specific crewmembers), that's another two hours in the can.

Top it off with art galleries and you've got a whole third disc filled.

Disc One:
-Movie
-Commentary

Disc Two:
-Same Disc as Before (8 featurettes, deleted scenes, gag reel. Include the retail-exclusive materials as well)

Disc Three:
-More "Anatomy of a Scene" features
-"Evolution of an Epic" mini-docs
-Art Galleries

Disc Four:
-Visualising Narnia: Prince Caspian

That would really be interesting, a sort of "Missing Years" documentary that traces all the known and speculative history of what happened during the time between the books.

Wow, that Circle Vision feature is way more elaborate than I expected. Its depth sort of ends up being a curse, though, since the set will feel unbalanced without something as detailed for the actual climax of the movie (which I imagine was more complex than the castle raid). That feature almost makes the retailer exclusive disc slightly less desirable since I bet there'll be lots of overlap between Circle Vision and Anatomy of a Scene.

Actually, there is going to be a 3-disc edition of Prince Caspian: the third disc will contain the new Disney Digital File. :D
