Jiminy Glick in LaLa Wood
I was laughing fairly hard throughout. At times, it gets overly silly, but that's pretty rare. The TV series still works better, and it could have used more Whoopi, but I'm glad they made this. I need to get the DVD.
The Corpse Bride
I was very impressed with this, though it didn't exactly grab ahold of me. But then, I think that like <i>The Nightmare Before Christmas</i>, this is a movie that will especially benefit from repeat viewings. Speaking of TNBC, even people who don't like that movie should still give this one a chance, as I think it's much more accessible... that is to say, this isn't as much of a "cult" movie. Elfman delivers more catchy music here, even if not quite up to TNBC standards. In all, a clever and enjoyable movie that's oozing with Burton charm.
Walk the Line
Amazing. One of the year's best movies. I'm a Johnny Cash and June Carter fan and learning more about their lives was really interesting. A compelling drama with award-worthy acting all around and great music. Witherspoon & Phoenix were both very impressive... I saw Johnny, June, and the Carter family in concert and I was continually struck by how well the cast had captured their personalities. I also thought Tyler Hilton did a good job as Elvis. I'll be getting the 2-Disc DVD and perhaps the soundtrack, though I suspect they'll be re-releasing it (they better, anyways, and include "Times A Wastin'").
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
I'm slightly obsessed with this at the present, which is usually the case with a new HP DVD release. Greatastic!
Flightplan
Not a movie that can stand up to a critical analysis (as evidenced by Luke's review), due to a number of weaknesses (i.e. reliance on plot twists, too manipulative, etc.), but I was still very much in suspense from beginning to end. I'd take this over Panic Room.

I guess I should've expected nothing but liberal spin out of George Clooney.
(Especially when he claims to have made the movie in part as a retort to Ann Coulter's Treason). A one-sided glorification of journalistic bias and demonization of Joe McCarthy. There was some good acting (aside from Clooney) and a few cool camera shots, but just as many blunders and a fuzzy narrative. Edward R. Murrow was no hero and this was no contendor for Best Picture of 2005.
