While giving critism to the "film alone", you have to understand that he IS damaging the reputation of the DisneyToon Studios and that he IS influencing people that want to be influenced and THAT is my main problem. He has no right to critisize a PREVIEW like that... For all we know, this sequel might turn out as the best one from the DisneyToon Studios!
You criticizes people who fears that theBambi sequel will be a dispointement, but you're doing the exact contrary?? What permit you to say that the sequel can turn to a great movie, to the "best one from DTS"??

For me, i'm much excited in Chickel Little or CARS thant any of the sequels in preparation, including Bambi.

Moreover, i do'nt care for the ind of animators from MULAN2 or any sequels to read our comments on their movies? In showbuisness, in movie buisness or acting, THAT's PART of the JOB to read critics about your works!

Oh my god! Has it gotten that bad? Aren't we on a Disney fan site board here? Shouldn't we all leap a little more to the positive side when it concerns Disney? I know a lot of you were dissapointed by previous DTV titles, but I don't see what's so hard in having a little faith in Disney again?

Me too! But try to see those FEATURE movies as something else! Why does everyone compare the feature movies with the DTV movies? I don't understand! They are clearly TOTALLY different in animation (altough the DisneyToon Studios are getting close), story and budget.

Yes, but there's a difference between constructive critism and just critism because you didn't like the previous work of that specific studio. That's called NARROWMINDED.

Why would I be a Disney Animator? Just because I support Disney more than many people on this board do?

No, it's just that you've been getting up-tight whenever somebody says "Cinderella 2 sucked!" or something like that so I just presumed that you were getting really upset as people could have been mocking your work. I know Michael McKenzie was jumping to the gun a bit quickly by saying that Bambi 2 will be a piece of crap, but I think it was a bit over the top changing a perfectly nice bit of feedback into a battle field.

Well they do say that the fans are the harshest critics!:p

I agree one 100% with you Jens let's all have a little more faith in Disney!

Their DTV wing have been coming on in leaps and bounds lately. The animation is certainly getting towards the same level as the old Orlando and California studios, and they are doing it all on a ridiculous;y short budget. I mean some of the scenes in TLK1/2 are even better than the original! As recently as a week ago virtually the whole forum was hyped becuase the previews for Bambi 2, Tarzan 2 and LaS 2 were so damn gorgeous!

I truly believe that Disney Toon Studios will start to produce some original film, with original stories and characters. And if 2d ever returns to the big screen, something which I am sure will happen after people have gotten over the recent boughts of CGImania, Where do you think the films are likely to come from? From DTS, it would take a long time to reopen the orlando or Ca studios and get them running fully, so it would probalby be the studio in Australia.

There is still a way to go before Bambi 2 is released, and I do not think it is a reviewer's job to judge things he hasn't seen, and even though it is natural to be wary when you have been soured by something in the past, but we should all still wait and see. There is nothing that annoys me more than people that slag something off when they haven't seen it, like my friend that says Home on the Range is a bad film, yet she's never seen it!

let's not judge a book by it's cover, just yet!

Let's wait until it's released then we can judge it by it's hideously with deformed characters that looks nothing in the actual film, aimelessly staring in an of colour off model world or photoshop cut and paste bizzarity DVD cover!

It was never my intention to turn this topic into a battle field, but I just want to defend the DisneyToon Studios productions... If someone "attacks" me, I attack back :P That's called discussion ;)

PS: I never saw Cinderella 2, so I would never say anything to someone that says "Cinderella 2 sucks".

They used the original film's background animations. Not even a miracle would've given such a result with the budgets Toon Disney gets.

Don't know if this has been posted before, but a Bambi DVD Review has been posted here:
http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=56032

It's very disappointing that they refer to the video quality as "decent." I have to see it for myself, because I don't think Bambi will look that bad. But nearly as good or better than the Snow white transfer.

Hi

Post by Disney Guru »

I know a little bit of French, and with some help from www.altavista.com. I was able to read it and it was a great review. And the screen caps were magnificent. Viva La France DVD Reviewers!

Ciaobelli wrote:Bambi seems to have the most games so far, but seriously who the heck plays games w/ their remote?? Probably all the infants already have a playstation or something. What a waste.
Has anyone noticed how all the games on Disney DVDs never have any variety in answers? On a video-game, there's some randomness adding to replayability, but with these set-top games, they are simply repetitive. My mother's friend is a child minder and one of the kids that she looks after has learnt where the pieces of Boo's door are on the Monsters Inc game.

Do you think they will include some footage of the 1994 documentary The Making of Bambi, including Eric Larson, Frank Thomas, and Peter Behn?

Little trivia fact:

I don´t know if this is a bit ironic, but the same day than it will be released the Bambi DVD here in Mexico, it will be also released the "Qui a Tue Bambi?" DVD...

is this Irony?
