Buena Vista Home Entertainment have just added a single release for December 2006 so far:

13th December
Great Raid, The (AKA: Ghost Soldiers)
HappyPug

Post by HappyPug »

they're knocked Proof back till Dec 13th as well.

But since nobody really wants either of those movies then it really
doesn't matter.

Yes yes, Christmas will be very busy!

Keep your eye out for the 4 Disc Collectors Box of Narnia!

And a re-released Pirates Of The Carribean double pack!

Ooooh

Does anyone here know if Aussie will be getting Dumbo: The Big Top Edition, and what date? Or will I just have to buy the 'COLLECTION' Edition? :(

No, we won't be getting a Brother Bear double pack and
No, we won't be getting the Big Top Edition of Dumbo either.

Apologies for the negativity, but.....

The Big Top Edition is relatively the same as the
'Walt Disney's Classic' Dumbo we already have here.

The Big Top Edition is actually worse off than our release here.

The picture been "restored" but what really has happen is it has
been made to look dim & matte looking, which makes it ugly and bland looking.

For example, the Pink Elephants look Pastel Grey/Pink rather than
Fluro Pink like they do on our version.

Plus they've dropped a few special features so they can chuck on more
games for the under 5's. And if you're not Under 5, then they're wasting space. My First Cirus is one of them. The kid wouldn't even know what Dumbo was if it hasn't even been to a Circus yet....

Quite a waste of time if you already have our normal version of it,
But if you're like me & need every version of everything for completeness then go ahead and order it from the states.

We won't be getting it here as we have a perfectly good, and better,
release of Dumbo readily available. It was only ReReleased in the states cos it was discontinued completely a few years back, making the
Big Top Edition looked new & fresh, which of course it isn't.

As for Brother Bear, the UK are notorious for making double packs of things so keep an eye out on HMV.co.uk or Amazon.uk for a set.

Not to sound too catty...

But Little Mermaid is the most requested DVD title.
Only surpassed by Song Of The South.

It is the only DVD people actually want from the past 20 years of
Disney DVD releases.

So rightly so they try to cash in as much as they can with unnecessary
double packs.

Little Mermaid II is the stupidest straight to video Disney Release i have
ever seen, and ive been on safari, yet girls make mum buy it for them so it'll sell regardless.

Now, Brother Bear isn't as popular you see, so no double pack in Australia.
I even questioned why we got Brother Bear II at all, as even the states laugh both Brother Bear movies off as "not really must see" titles.

The UK have a box cos they delight in having useless double packs.
Perhaps they'll sell over there. Perhaps they won't.

If our Australian double packs are any indication of popularity
ie Valiant Adventures & Mighty Heros...
Then it doesn't look too good for more double packs here.

But the Australian market is geared assuming that things will or won't sell.

Little Mermaid will. Brother Bear struggles.

as you can see from my siggy i have no problems with
the little mermaid being more popular than brother bear!

TLM is my fav movie of all time in the history of forever!

i just also really like brother bear...
so to get 1 and 2 in a set would have been convenient!

but its no biggie!

i saw brother bear 1 for $12.99 at target anyway

PS - i didnt think you were being catty! :D
yay i have TLM DVD!

I liked Brother Bear too.
I bought it, having not seen it, and I thought it was fun.

But when at Californian Adventure, talking to a lady friend, she moaned
and groaned about the 'crap Brother Bear' show and how crap Brother Bear was and such but I didn't want to correct her.

Oooh and in Disneyland when my friend and I watched the parade, we danced around happily singing Welcome To The Family.
Not necessarily because it was from Brother Bear, but any opportunity to dance is always welcome.

Plus the ends touching where he sees his mum in the northern lights.
Its sad. Awww.

Yeh we totally did that too!
The Welcome to the Family song is hot!

Same with one called Wishes from Disneyworld we couldn't stop
singing that either before we went to Disneyland.

It sounds really tacky with the little girl saying "Wishes"

They chucked in for a line in the Remember Dreams Come True fireworks
and we laughed heartily.

Hooray for Disneyland. They should build one here.

oooh you'd better be careful saying stuff like that around here becka, there are a lot of people on these forums who would take great offence to that.

I was also at Disneyland about a year ago, amazing time, and i too got the Welcome song from Brother Bear / Parade of Dreams stuck in my head... and loved it. Actually, I think that it's still stuck in my head now...

Welcome to our family time,
welcome to....

The Christmas Small World is fun.

But you find yourself singing...
" oh what fun it is to ride in a one horse
open sleigh bom bom bom It's A Small World After All
" all day.

Haunted Mansion Holiday is the best for advertising Danny Elfmans
soundtrack so you end up singing
"la la la la la la la la la la la. La la la la la la, la la la la la"
( to the Kidnap The Sandy Claws tune )

For some reason too we kept singin' "How'd You Do?" from
Splash Mountain.

And saying "Great Job Space Rangers!" after going on Buzz.

Disneylands fun.
Where's that Secrets & Fun DVD, or whatever it was called, gone?
I want it

lol  I don't think anyone would be offended to someone saying they hate the song "It's a small World"! Even The Lion King makes fun of that song! I don't know the actual script, but I watched it today and it goes along the lines of something like

Zazu: Nobody knows the trouble I've Seen, Nobody knows my sorrow...

Scar: Oh Zazu- lighten up. Sing something with a little bounce in it!

Zazu: It's a small world after all, its a small world...

Scar: NO! Anything but that!
