^It's November 12th. Only in United States they write the month first and day second. In the rest of the world it's the opposite.

^ Thank you! IMDB still has Japan listed as December 11th, so I wonder if they need to update that. I wonder in which countries it will really premiere first...

If IMDB wrote that then they might be right I guess? I'm just used to the date being oppsite, but now I'm not so sure anymore.

In most of the world it's like you said, farerb, but it seems Japan and some other Asian countries have a different way of writing the date. According to Wikipedia, the most commonly used date format in Japan is "year month day", so I guess the IMDB date is correct.

Thanks for posting the new Japanese trailer and poster, Sotiris! There was more new footage than I expected and the new poster is not bad. This has probably been mentioned already, but looking at the poster, I realized the big contrast there are between the characters from the real world and the souls. The humans, as we already noticed, have smaller heads than usual for animation while the heads of the souls are huge (they're bigger than the rest of their bodies). Maybe they decided to give the real world that look to accentuate the difference between both worlds. And I don't remember who had this theory, maybe it was DisneyFan97, but I think it probably will turn out to be true that Joe's soul and 22 will enter Joe's and the cat's bodies in that scene when they fall to the hospital's room. I believe that because the cat appears in many posters and covers, so I guess it probably has an important role in the movie.

Which were the spoilers? I didn't catch them.

"Soul" now has its MPAA rating: PG for "thematic elements and some language."

I believe this is the second time a Pixar feature has gotten a PG for language, with "Incredibles 2" being the first.

I think it depends on the COVID19 situation in the US and Sweden. to be honest I'm kind of in a depressed mood where I no longer see how life will return to the way it once was. I never thought that this would last this long and the end doesn't appear to be in sight. I want this to be released, but with every new trailer or poster or any news I kind of feel like "what is the point?!"

Oh, OK. I think most of it was already in the second domestic trailer, so I didn't find it spoilery, but of course it is for the people who haven't seen that trailer or don't want to know too much before seeing the movie.

I don't remember any language not suitable for children in Incredibles 2 now. I wonder what they say in that movie that made it get that rating.

I understand you. I've also felt a bit like that, especially at the beginning of the confinement. And I guess many other people as well. Between the fear of the virus and the restrictions on our freedom, it's such a strange and unprecedented situation. I had never really thought about how people in general must have felt during times of war or plague, for example. Those things are way worse, but I guess it must've been difficult for them too to keep a good mood during those times too. But bad times don't last forever and I'm sure we'll also overcome this.

If a Disney movie is released in USA in November, Sweden most always gets the movie in February/March in Sweden.

I like the composition of those book covers. They also make it clear that Tina Fey's character will go into the cat. I wasn't sure that would be happening; I initially thought that both souls woud go into the man's body for comedic purposes and "split personality" shenanigans, but it appears that's not the case.

I guess you're right. I thought one of them would go into the cat, but I believed it would be the opposite: Tina Fey's character into Joe's body and him into the cat. And I imagined they would have to find a way to solve this and Joe as a cat would have to guide 22 to act like him while they're in the real world. But if Joe's in his own body again, I wonder what their mission will be.

That's a good guess. That's probably what is going to happen. It makes sense that Tina Fey's character who doesn't like Earth and is cynical about humans will go into the man's body to learn the value and beauty of human life. This situation allows for comedy more and continues Joe's quest to get his body back until the movie's climax.

Isn't this main character a little too old (his age) to appeal for children? Marketing wise, would kids pick a book cover with a grown-up guy

Well, this is from the same studio that made a family movie where the lead character is a senior citizen. Doesn't seem to be all that much of a difference.

Yes, those are the reasons why I thought they were going to do that as well, but you're right that the covers seem to indicate the opposite. The cat looks more comedic like Tina Fey and Joe seems quite comfortable in his body. We'll see. Maybe it will be revealed in the next trailer, if there is a third and final one.

You're right that it's a bit risky, but like Tristy said, they've done it before with Up and that film was very successful. I think Pixar can afford a risk like this because it's such a well-known and beloved brand that people generally go to see their movies or buy their merchandise regardless of what they're about or who is the protagonist (with a few exceptions). Plus there are always characters and elements that appeal to children like the cat or the colorful and cartoony souls in this film.
