PBS is not the greatest source of news of any type. They are biased toward the current administration and don't give you views from both sides. I have never watched a PBS news show that I didn't turn off half way through because of their bias.
I do watch PBS a lot and have contributed quite a bit to them, but always include a note with my donation asking them to bring in a better news program and get rid of Charlie Rose.
I love most of PBS's programming.

Right this minute I am leaning toward the Romney/Ryan ticket because no one can show me or tell me how we are going to be better off with who is in office now.
I have been a registered Democrat since I was old enough to vote, and that is over 50 years ago. Back then you had to be 21 to vote, and you had to register with a party affiliation and vote that way. Years later the voting age was changed to 18 and you could register any party you wanted and could vote for who you wanted, no matter their party.
It all comes down to the Electoral College in the end. Whatever or whomever they vote will give us either our new President or are so-called 'ruler'. It would be really good if they ever actually had the 'real' votes count toward who wins this Presidency but I don't think we will see any change to something has worked for many, many years.

If this is for real it could make Obama look very desperate for votes.
http://www.reagancoalition.com/articles ... reams.html
If it is true, then the producers of "2016: The Obama Years" should also send their movie out to the voters of Ohio.
Also here is something that shows why Obama is the WRONG man for another term:
http://www.reagancoalition.com/articles ... orton.html
And with all the barriers Obama is putting up on our servicemen overseas, it no wonder they want someone who cares in office.

What you have to understand is that all of our major candidates are bought off. Romney is not going to be any better than Obama for this country.dvdjunkie wrote:If this is for real it could make Obama look very desperate for votes.

Until we can get the money out of politics nothing is going to make any difference. The Federal Reserve needs to be reigned in. We need to get our soldiers out of these endless wars. We should get the United States back on the gold standard. We should ditch the Electoral Collage. And most of all, we need to ditch the 2 party, us vs them mentality. IT DOESN'T WORK! It enables each side to continually blame the other and nothing gets done. We are long past due for either a 3rd party... or no parties at all.
But we need to stop the fighting amongst ourselves and need to unite as a nation and demand better. As anyone can plainly see just from this message thread, the partisan arguing gets us nowhere.

Nice thought Maerj. Unfortunately you are looking at the world through rose-colored glasses. Those thoughts are just dreams and reality of them is that it will never come to pass. The Electoral College has been involved in Presidential elections as long as I can remember, and no one has really complained until now.
What has our current President done positively to you to make you think that his future is your future? I have lost almost $100,000 in my 401k that was supposed to help me during my retirement. Now I am on Low Income subsidies for my medications, and for help with my diability. And I lost my job through no fault of my own, it was a downsize brought on by Obama's administration. I have failed in all of my attempts to get another job, and have been told that I make $12 too much to qualify for assistance with my food purchases. Now that's insane. Take a good look around you, and see the movie "2016: The Obama Years" if you want to see what we are in for in the next four years if he is elected.
I am and have been a registered Democrat for over 50 years, and I am leaning roward jumping ship and voting the Republican ticket this time.
Now here is something to read and think about:
Joe Biden embarrassed himself Thursday with his apparent inability to hold a serious conversation about the struggles facing working families after four years of the Democrats’ economic failure: http://ow.ly/esXhJ

Rose colored glasses? Not really. I am saying that both sides are equally the problem. If we all sit around and say that these things will never get better and that change will never come to pass, then that is what will happen. I feel that we need to inform everyone and get the American people to finally get so fed up with this that we can, as a people, finally put a stop to this. I think that we can do it. It *will* take time but its happened in the past and it will happen again.dvdjunkie wrote:Nice thought Maerj. Unfortunately you are looking at the world through rose-colored glasses. You are blaming Obama personally for what happened to you. Obama didn't personally do this to you. I am sorry for what happened but the political machine has been doing this to the American people for a long time. If Romney wins, things will not be different. We are heading in the same direction, no matter who wins.
Our economy was in the crapper before Obama took office and it will continue to be there when he leaves. Unfortunately.

Maybe not but fighting with him will not help change anyone's mind. He wants to discuss things, that's fine. He has a certain point of view and I am fine with that. We disagree... BUT I believe that everyone can have a change of mind. I am not trying to convince him that he is wrong but trying to show him that he is *partially* right. The Democrats aren't entirely honest and aren't going to help him out. BUT he needs to realize that the Republicans aren't going to help him either. Each side wants their adherants to vilify the other side to keep the imaginary battle to continue so that they can continue to screw us all over.Super Aurora wrote:Agree 100% on this. And I couldnt help but think it might've helped to post this earlier. No offense, but It does seem to give a little insight into why you have these views.

He did post it earlier. Actually a couple times. And while I do feel sorry for his misfortune situation, I also think he being bit narrow minded in thinking and believing this is all the fault of one president rather than a number of other factors that are in the equation.ajmrowland wrote:dvdjunkie wrote:Nice thought Maerj. I really thought this was interesting:
Joe Biden said it was "mathematically impossible" to cut tax rates and preserve deductions for middle class. He also said it had never been done before. Oh really?

There is a distinct pattern throughout American history: Tax cuts result in economic growth. Kennedy and Regan knew it. Find out more here.

Here's a very touching story about Seal Team VI, the one that went in and killed Osama Bin Laden.

Here's something else that Obama has done wrong:
http://www.caintv.com/FromSpaceShuttlet ... umpino-573
I am still leaning toward the Republican ticket, but am waiting until after the next two debates. One tomorrow night and one next week. Tomorrow's debate is a Town Hall Forum and should be interesting as President Obama says he is going to slam Romney about his involvement with Bain and Rominey is going to bring up the 'Fast & Furious' arms deal, and why Eric Holder still has a job along with the failed stimulus' of the Obama campaign like Solyndra and others.
Should be a real interesting night, and then next week we get to a debate that the subject matter is to be Foreign Policy. And we all know how bad Obama's foreign policies are. It is going to be two great debates, I hope, and then I will formally make that decision.
Because of my handicap (remember I lost a leg a few months ago) I already have my absentee ballot.
And just so you are perfectly clear I am watching what each candidate has to work with to help the economy.
This is pretty mind-boggling:

Here's something for that ever-popular Fox News network, you know you love it and just don't want to admit it. Either that or you are afraid of the truth because it might be something you have blocked from your thinking.

Don't throw rocks at me, show me another version of this story, if you can find one.
And then there is the gem for tonight's Debate. It actually paints a pretty good picture of what is going to happen. Don't read it and you are biased. Read it and you will be informed and ready for tonight's debate.

Some very good challenges for everyone, including myself. Watch the videos and then comment. I have watched them all and taken the survey, and I bet less than half of you will do any of it.
