Not exactly. He said there have been two proposed features starring Mickey recently at Disney but both are currently on hold. They're no longer being actively developed.

It will probably be a difficult thing to do justice to these characters, especially in a feature film where they are largely untested. Also concerns that Mickey and friends will not be able to carry films of that length. Apparently, one of those ideas was also overly gimmicky without having anything substantive. So the folks at WDAS are being understandably cautious.

Girl, please! They starred in one full-length movie so far. And even if it's only a direct-to-video film, it still counts.

Was a little on the short side, wasn't it. 68 minutes only. I have actually watched it, but it was 7 years ago, so I can't make any judgements on the quality or how well the characters were used , admittedly.

P.S. I am a male. Qindarka is an Albanian unit of currency, don't know why it predisposes you to think of me as female.

Regardless, the 'girl' bit wasn't serious. Back on topic, it still counts as a movie, since it was over 60 minutes long.

I'm glad that Disney isn't pursuing a Mickey Mouse film. It just won't work & would do the character a huge injustice! What they should do are: NEW MICKEY MOUSE SHORTS! Leave the films to new material.

I watched it a couple months ago, so it's fresh enough to say that they handled the narrative adequately enough. And it was a feature-length narrative in a barely feature-length timeframe.

Are they still sticking to that crappy Mickey Mouse Clubhouse forever? They need to get rid of it. Making shorts will be fine. But seriously, Disney is not trying hard enough for their sainted mouse. In other words, Disney is chickenpoop! :x

Well, what about a movie FEATURING Mickey and the gang? You know, like where they play a vital role, except not as the main stars.

To me, the classic characters Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Minnie & Daisy they sould do new shorts with them. A whole feature film just doesn't seem right. Warner Bros. did it with their characters: Space Jam & Back in Action. SM had some sucess, BiA was a flop & really did some damage to the Looney Toons brand back in 03. With Frozen & Big Hero6 coming the next 2yrs, wouldn't it be great if a new short starring Mickey be great? The last true Mickey short 1995's Runaway Brain! What a great short, so modern: Mickey playing a fighting game with snow white characters! Got an oscar nod for Best Animated short film. New shorts with Mickey & the gang playing before there new Feature Animations would be great. When I think of Mickey, I think: Plane Crazy, Steamboat Willie, The Mad Doctor, Lonesome Ghosts, Brave little Tailor, Lend a Paw & Runaway Brain.

Yes, that would be nice too. And they should make a tv series of them for everyone to watch too. Though I heard that making of new classic shorts with Mickey and the Gang has been put on hold.

While I would love to see Mickey and Friends out of pre-school limbo as much as anyone else, I have to disagree with many over here on the production of a Mickey Mouse feature. WDAS needs to move forward with unique, original ideas and not rehash old ones. Making a Mickey Mouse feature film would be an extremely conservative choice of action. The only thing that would justify it, in my opinion, would be for Disney to follow it up with a truly avant-garde piece of film-making.

Calm down, calm down. I assume that you haven't heard of the games, Epic Mickey 1 and 2. They have saved Mickey, and they used Oswald too.
