Now here's the million dollar question: Is UD going to get a review copy of this? If not I hope they make note of it.

Hey all,

Thanks for posting the special features. What can i say? i feel screwed over by Disney. Thank God i have my platinum edition which was VERY satisfying (back when platinum editions did offer everything there was to offer about a movie).

Not gonna bother with this release, and I think Disney should think twice about putting the special features only on blu ray.

That Hyperion tour was one of the most kick-ass things ever created for home video. I don't give a crap that the Blu Ray didn't recreate every single thing found on the last DVD. That's why I still own the laserdisc and the last DVD. Instead, I give a crap about paying for a NEW release that has a virtual tour of the old Hyperion studio plus HOURS of NEW documentary features on the studio and the film's creators.

Wow! What a concept! I own the OLD release and the NEW release, and I get tons of NEW STUFF!

Seriously, I don't understand you guys some time. What are you complaining about?

We feel screwed over in the bonus features department because we don't get that kick-ass Hyperion Studios tour. We're left with the dregs at the bottom of the pot, because Disney stopped caring about us long ago.

Um how did we get screwed over big time for the reg. dvd?? I'll admit that I'm dissapointed in the excution of Hyperion Studio Tour, would've been worth to have on the 2nd disc along with a new Makin of feat, new commentary. Also they could've done another Inside Walt's Story Meetings, since this film does have numerous transcripts of productions notes.

Because, it takes away almost everything good from the original release, without putting hardly anything else new in its place!

If you have the blu-ray and the original platinum, don't bother with the new 2-disc DVD. That's for people like me who missed out on the original and haven't upgraded to Blu yet.

Guys - Disney's produced feature-laden discs for years, first on laserdisc, then on DVD, and now on Blu-Ray. Don't be mad at me, don't hate me, but I had to PAY FOR those VHS titles, I had to PAY FOR those incredible laserdiscs (including Song of the South), I had to PAY FOR those incredible DVDs with bonus features -- guys, I love you all, but come on - you know how this works. That incredible Hyperion interaticve tour is amazing. But if you want to see it, you have to buy the disc and PAY FOR it. We all know this, we accept it, its the way of the world. Don't take it as an attack on you.

I just PAID FOR my 2-disc DVD. Is it going to be crap compared to the Blu-Ray? Pretty much, yeah. Can I afford a freaking Blu-Ray player right now? Hell no! So, I guess I'm stuck where I am.
Congratulations that you are able to pay for yours, Rudy Matt, I'm sooo impressed. Just remember that not all of us can simply prodcue money from our anuses. Especially the way the economy is.

Same here. I'm just glad I finally got Snow White in my DVD collection, and, hopefully it will be on store shelves longer this time around.

Dude you can buy Blu-Ray players for under $100 right now - I'm sorry people couldn't afford VHS, laserdisc, DVD, and Blu-Ray players when Disney was producing such great products. But you can't get into Disneyland without buying a ticket. You can't go to the movies without buying a ticket. That's how this goes. Again, I love all of you here, because you care - but this is the way the world works. Guys, save up some money, go get a Blu-Ray player, buy Snow White and you'll see one of the greatest binus features ever created for Disney home entertainment. God knows I'd buy it for you if I could. But this is the way of the world. You want to walk into the park, you gotta pay the admission.

Way of the world my a**!

I dont mind paying for another release, I have double dipped many times, and even triple dipped. But this is not about the disc itself, this is about getting a whole new machine.

Dvd is not dead, not even close. Actually, blu ray is still on its baby steps. How long did it take for disney to ditch the VHS? How much time went by before the first dvd (of all, not just disney) and the last disney video?

This is a pathetic ploy from disney to get people to buy blu ray players. And it IS elitist. Basically, if i can't afford (or dont want to) to drop hundreds of dollars in a new format, then I dont deserve the new bonus features? Should I let myself be manipulated by Disney and the other studios?

Frankly, for the time being, i have no intention of upgrading to blu ray. And if Disney doesn't like it, they can bite my a**. Whatever titles I might be missing on DVD (and its not many), I will buy old editions on ebay for less money, instead of spending top dollar for a new edition (which i would be willing to do if they didnt cheat us on the bonus features). In the end, I lose, and Disney loses.

For me to save up enough money to buy a blu-ray player would probably take a full year, at the least. (I work for $2 an hour, and even then, only sporadically). And it takes me weeks to save up for a single DVD. I was seriously counting pennies to buy the new Snow White 2-Disc DVD. So before you start with your blu-prejudiced nonsense, you ought to think what you're saying. Not every Disney freak has the money that it generally takes to be a Disney freak, if you get what I'm saying.

Ah, I remember the good old days when you had to pay $70+ for a laserdisc if you wanted any bonus features for your Disney movies.

The more things change, the more things stay the same. The more expensive format is the gonna be the one packed with the extras, regardless of what era you're in. It does suck that that the current DVD got shafted of the extras, but is probably expected.

I used to feel it was unfair that DVD's were loaded with extras while VHS's only contained the movie.

So did I, back when I had VHS.... Of course, I realized that it would have been highly impractical, because it would have taken an awful lot of really full cassettes to have a decent amount of bonus features.....
I'm sure Hyperion Studios could have been put on a DVD, maybe as a seperate disc and coded for slightly differently. DVD was lightyears past VHS, while Blu-Ray is only a mile or two ahead of DVD.

i just came into the thread for the first time and i'm not sure exactly what has been going on but as far as these last post go, i would have to agree with those who have stated that not everyone has the money to upgrade and be a disney freak like others. i for one am a huge disney freak as well but i don't have the money for blu rays and i hate the fact that they are trying to push us into it. i would rather stay without special features then get myself into more debt getting something i don't need at the moment. like it was said earlier it will be a long time before dvd's die out

Just curious...do you stalk outside the gates of Disneyland waiting for the ticket prices to drop so you can get into get into the park?

C'mon guys, Blu Ray Players are in the $100 range right now, they aren't any more expensive than DVD players were a few years ago. They play all your old discs, they even work with your old TVs. Just get a damn Blu Ray already. It's not a point of pride, there are serious bad ass bonus features on these things. That Hyperion tour on Snow White is one of the coolest Disney bonus features ever made. Just go for it already, my heart breaks knowing you true Disney fans are missing out.
