Thank you so much! I like the most brighter version of the new logo rather than the crappier version taken from a bootleg that multispeedo had on YouTube. The Merman wrote:There is an even beter version on the Walt Disney site.

Just surf to that link and click Walt Disney pictures button below the video screen. It is the best version out there at the moment if ye ask me.

Walt Disney Pictures Logo Compilation
For those of you had discussed the logos before, guess what! I put together a compilation of Walt Disney Pictures logo from the beginnings in 1985 to 2006. It has five logos. One is the earlier logo with powdered white castle used in the opening credits to "The Black Cauldron". That lasted until 1989, and then, the later version with the blue castle where it goes into the 90's until they will discontinue that one until either "Brother Bear 2" or "Fox and the Hound 2" (which will be out on DVD next week) in 2006. The third logo features the Pixar version with a different fanfare. Interesting. The Pixar version lasted until 2006. The first was "Toy Story" in 1995 and then right up to the last one was "Cars" in 2006. In 2000, the fourth logo which was orange where a light moves in the dark. The orange logo started with "Dinosaur" in 2000 right up until "Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" in 2005. And finally, the new logo for 2006 with the some newer elements that it was discussed before including the shimmering water and fireworks. The new logo was first appeared in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest", followed by "Invincible" and "The Santa Clause 3". The new logo is still in use today for future Disney feature films. There you go. Enjoy this excellent compilation.

Yeh good job! I watched your other video aswell the "History of Walt Disney Home Video 1978-2001" and it is really funny to see some of those intro's back. Like the one I loved as a child but forgot about with mickey in Fantasia costume hehe.
Is it treu that there are new rumours of Disney Animation getting a new logo?
I dont remember where I read it but it is suppose to go before the new 2d movie/ perhaps 3D aswell not sure.

I bought the DVD of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" for Christmas, but the new logo is kinda nice and completely done. I will have to post a much bigger pic of the new logo as soon as I get back from the city. It should be suitable for my desktop wallpaper. In the meantime, here is a MIDI version of the new logo, but it's definitely a spoof. Thanks to LosDosEduardos for that request. The much cleaner version with MIDI music will be on soon.

I went back from New York City that I put "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Chest" DVD in using Power DVD for a glimpse of the new logo. I captured the picture and and ended up as a wallpaper. I cropped up the screen, because it was too wide. I put it as a normal screen and then uploading it on Photobucket to view the bigger version of the new logo. This is something for everyone. I hope this wallpaper for the new logo would be more bigger enough to see. Just right click it and click "Save Picture As" and then put it as a wallpaper. Enjoy!

You're welcome! I just came home after a two-week vacation in the city, because I haven't view it since I didn't use my PC for two weeks after I bought the DVD of POTC: DMC for Christmas. I use Power DVD to put screencaps on it to make a high quality version of the new logo to make it as a wallpaper. I collect the Walt Disney Pictures logos from 1985 to today when I have plenty of avatars, I don't collect logos besides of Disney (Paramount, MCA, Viacom, Universal, Revue, WB, Lorimar, etc.) just the Disney ones except the old Buena Vista logos from 1955 until 1981.TheSequelofDisney wrote:Thanks musicradio! Actually, Buena Vista started in 1953, not 1955.musicradio77 wrote:You're welcome! Lighthousemike as posted the same new logo and that one was from "Cinderella 3: A Twist in Time". Sadly, "Fox and the Hound 2" was the last film to have the original blue logo. Sadly they got rid of it. That was the end of an era for the original logo in direct-to-video movies. It's time to move on. The new "Tinkerbell" movie with Britanny Murphy comes out next year is also going to use the same new logo onward. Is the Platinum Edition of "Peter Pan" and "The Jungle Book" DVD's are coming out using the new logo? It was rumored that "Peter Pan" PE DVD is using the shortened version of the new logo like the ending credits to POTC: DMC or maybe the one with fireworks. Will have to wait and see.

So, to correct me if I'm wrong that the Walt Disney Pictures blue logo was not from 1985, the logo with a blue castle started just around 1990 until 2006. The 1985 logo has a powdered white castle right up until 1989.
And by the way, if you seen the new logo, I found a much better DVD quality version of the new logo, completely restored. Here it is right now!

This was also seen at the beginning of "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" which is still playing right now.

BUMP!
From "Walt Disney Pictures Presents" we went to "Walt Disney Pictures" and now it's just going to be "Disney".
Why the words "Walt" & "Pictures" have been clipped off of that new "Disney" logo

To change Walt Disney Pictures to Disney because it is easier to read just the word Disney on iPhone seems like a strange explanation. It would make more sense if the change was because they wanted a stronger brand that is more easy to recognize.Sotiris wrote:BUMP!

Personally, I think it's sad that they remove the word Walt from everything. The audience needs to be remebered of him from time to time, and just "Disney" before a movie seems a little bland and generic. They put the "Disney" name on everything - merchandise, biscuits, toys, Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2, all those horrible straight to DVD movies about puppies... They could have kept Walt Disney Pictures before all of their theatrically released movies.
Favorite Disney-movies: Snow White, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Mulan, Tarzan, Tangled, Frozen, Pirates, Enchanted, Prince of Persia, Tron, Oz The Great and Powerful

That's one of the dumbest explanations I've heard for something in a long time.
If it's THAT big of a deal, why not just slap the "Disney" only logo on releases of copies of the film that would actually be seen on a tiny screen. I mean, why even have the castle at all then? If people supposedly can't read "Walt Disney Pictures", then it must be damn near impossible to see all the details in the castle, landscape, sky, and water that appears in the new opening logo. That also has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that they are slowly changing everything that has the Disney banner to just "Disney". Disney California Adventure is grammatically incorrect on top of all this! It's all just change for something that never needed to be changed.
