Cool find, Ariel1989!

Today at toyrus i found The Little Mermaid shimmering lights dolphin chariot
Wow! That looks really cool! That is very much like the Cinderella Twinkle Lights doll and carriage that Disney came up with. The Twinkle Lights products for Cinderella were very successful and earned Disney a lot of money, so this Shimmering Lights product should do well, too! It has the new Special Edition logo and some of the character artwork from the DVD cover on the packaging, so it's official merchandise for The Little Mermaid Special Edition DVD!

Thanks for finding that, Ariel 1989! This shows that the same marketing strategy for Cinderella is definately being used for The Little Mermaid. Although I'm pretty sure Ariel is going to be getting even more books and toys!

What are you talking about? I said that I don't want to comment the quality of the Peter Andre video and I didn't. I was merely pointing out that it wasn't made during the film's original release. It was made in 1997 when the film was re-released and played during the end credits along with Under the Sea by Shaggy. I'm pretty sure I'm being correct on this one.

OK, let me try again. You're making it sound like I like the fact that there are mistakes in films. :)
I don't feel the need for them to be fixed, especially with an old film like Bambi, because they have been there for years and sort of become a part of the film. If they fix the dissappearing raccoon, they're altering a classic. I don't really care if they redo some of the animation in TLM, but I think it's redundant.

BTW, I don't see anything wrong with the screencaps you referred to. Maybe it's just me...???

Could you please not shout at me? It's not very nice and frankly quite childish.

Well, I don't see why capital letters mean that I'm shouting at you.I just try to make people notice that phrase because, IMHO, it's really important. First of all, it's not personal. I'm referring to everyone who loves mistakes in Disney movies. Secondly, I really do insist that that video is older.
By the way about being childish...that's what Disney tries to all of us; make us children again! I don't really have to make an effort to be a child though, considering that I'm 19. A grown-up child, I know, but yet, still a child.
See you around! :)

It's common netiquette.

Be my guest, but you're wrong. :)

Figures... Anyway, there is a difference between being child-like or child minded and being plain childish.

Enough on this, don't you think?

That's what YOU think, we're not all the same. I'm not a web freak like most of you, so I don't know and I don't care about all those "web-rules".

I have to admitt that you're right. I just have the song in a collection that I've always considered it to be much older than it really is. After all, it's been 7 years from then. It's a long time, isn't it?

Everything comes in time...So much for your maturity, though! You're playing my game, aren't you?

Why, because you say so? No, honey, I'll stop "playing" only when you do! :)

I have an update, for those interested. :)

The Disney site is now officially taking preorders for TLM:PE. Here's the link

http://disneyshopping.go.com/DSSectionP ... _Id=195961

and, the main reason I posted this update, is because it shows the bonus lithos that you can get through the site (I think they've done this with almost every platinum...right?)

But if that's a glimpse into the restoration of the film (at least, if the lithos are), then it looks VERY good. Seeing those made me even more anxious for this DVD!! only four months!!! :D :D (and counting!!)

If you click here, the site says that there will be "Full-Color Character Artwork On Disc" & it says that the movie will be presented in the original 1.66:1 aspect ratio. I wonder if this stuff is true. I mean, I think it wouldn't be, since it's a genuine Disney website, but...............

They didn't. Here's a link for TLM: PE Info page:

http://disneyshopping.go.com/DSSectionP ... _Id=195961

What's strange is that it doesn't come up when you search for it on their site, but there's a link to it if you go on the Release Calendar, and find "The Little Mermaid Special Edition."

In that site, when you zoom at the image with the cover and the 4 lithos, there is a note under the zoomed picture that says: ART TO CHANGE or something like that. Does it mean that they're gonna change the artwork?

I usually pre order them from Disney and I can't rememeber them ever changing the lithos, but there is always that possibility. Usually the lithos they send are nice pictures, so if you like The Little Mermaid I would just pre order it. It is def worth it.
