Oh, my mom and I just saw this last night and it is A LOT Better than we were expecting, and how you’re making it look here, including Luke’s review. I can tell you that it is far better than the first Zootopia, as it actually utilizes its concepts in much more clever ways instead of falling flat in certain areas like Zootopia did with Clawhowser Etc. it’s also very meaningful and poignant In things that it illustrates, and I’ve only personally to me but to literally anybody. I actually consider the movie to be pretty much perfect, and any kind of imperfections it has are only simply ones that you could find in any kind of movie, as it was even stated possibly by Luke or anyone else who write reviews for this side that just because movies are predictable it doesn’t mean that they are bad, of which this one is certainly not the most, as you don’t completely know where they’re going with it, and even in the moments that are (Perhaps) Predictable, It feels very genuine and by that absolutely brilliant By how they handle things. It’s definitely worth seeing on the big screen, and even if you’re not a hard-core Pixar fan, I’m pretty sure that you will find something of value with it as it doesn’t even feel immediately similar to Pixar is past works eitherDisney's Divinity wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 3:26 pm Luke's review comparison of this film's attempt to be a Zootopia and ending up more in the zone of the Bee Movie and Shark Tale feels apt, imo. I similarly feel like the hand-drawn look of the faces and the 3D of the bodies for the fire characters doesn't quite land, although I guess points there for trying to go for a little something out of the box? Or, well, something on the level of a Maui anyway, as far as that character's hand-drawn tattoos. Actually, certain stills give me the feeling of The Amazing World of Gumball, as far as the air and earth characters occasionally verging on the feel of live-action in their weightiness, the hand-drawn of the fire characters' faces, the basic 3D of the water characters, etc. And I agree that names like Ripple, Ember, and Element City make even Cars' often cringey puns seem profound in comparison.
A shame if the Up short isn't very good either if I end up agreeing with him on that, too. I'm not fond of Up as a whole, but I did always like the Carl character. It's really just everything else about it that gets on my nerves (the little boy, the dogs, the bland villain, etc.). I'm glad he liked The Flash better than this film since it looks good to me, a shame it didn't perform well at the box office since it does look good.
