I would start a petition if it weren't for that someone said Don Hahn said that we could see Cinderella's restoration being fixed for the next release!universALLove wrote:Shouldn't they do a petition for something more important like getting the Cinderella restoration fixed as supposed to getting their knickers in a twist over some clip art

You say that now, but you KNOW if you were asked to stand up there, you'd be posing away too!TsWade2 wrote:Second of all, Debby Ryan, get the hell out of here!
I cracked up when I realised which expression she seemed to be using. XDPatrickvD wrote:Pocahontas looks happy to be there.....

They just updated the Disney Princess website with Merida in CG. It looks awful and so out of place. Especially since Rapunzel, the other CG princess, remains in 2D form.

I know, right!bruno_wbt wrote:Sotiris wrote:Just looked what happened because of that idiotic controversy. Disney won't be using 2D clip-art for Merida anymore.![]()

Are you sure about that?
What about all the books? We already have seen the covers!
What a stupid controversy… some people need to get a life…

I wonder if they'll quietly rework her 2D design.Sotiris wrote:Just looked what happened because of that idiotic controversy. Disney won't be using 2D clip-art for Merida anymore.![]()

This looks to be the exact, same issue as with Mulan: people complained that Mulan was too glammed up, so they toned her down. I am sure Merida is going through the same changes, to make sure that she isn't as glam as on her first design. My main issue with the clipart was that she sported too much makeup, but nothing I felt was atrocious or anything like that.enigmawing wrote:I wonder if they'll quietly rework her 2D design.Sotiris wrote:Just looked what happened because of that idiotic controversy. None of them look too pleased or happy to be honest.PatrickvD wrote:Pocahontas looks happy to be there.....
So, just because the film was CG, they can't have artwork of the character? They aren't changing the character at all, they're just representing them in a different medium. One that stays consistent with the rest of the line-up. Sotiris is right, Merida looks out of place now that she is in CG. I assume we'll see new 2D art of her at some point. I hope we do. The whole thing was so exaggerated.disneyftw1 wrote:... I'm sorry to do this, but... Should I... even bother bringing this up? ... Why does the site use Rapunzel in 2D instead of 3D? ... I do not know that. All I know is that they shouldn't have done that. If the film and its short are in 3D CGI, why bother changing the character?

So was Rapunzel and look at her in the site.disneyftw1 wrote:You do realize that MERIDA WAS IN NATIVE CG SINCE ITS PREMIERE DATE!
Yeah, I have to admit for a bit that it does look a bit off right now... but I'm just saying that they might as well let them be the film was natively in 3D. ... I'm not saying to not change anything in 3D-2D or 2D-3D. ... God, the inconsistencySo, just because the film was CG, they can't have artwork of the character? My reaction to all of this:So was Rapunzel and look at her in the site.
Yeah, it's so disappointing that she isn't in her 2D Form. Everyone was complaining for nothing.
Seems like everyone else is okay with Disney having Ariel and Jasmine in a sexy form, but not okay when there's strange sexual references in Disney films... Would you excuse me for a bit?And my mom even brought up Jasmine who’s wayyyy more sexualied than Merida and no one is complaining.

I agree. If 3D looks awkward next to 2D, they should just avoid adding 3D characters.disneyftw1 wrote: ... I'm sorry to do this, but... Should I... even bother bringing this up? ... You do realize that MERIDA WAS IN NATIVE CG SINCE ITS PREMIERE DATE!

I don't think that's what he meant. He's saying they SHOULD add the CG characters, and just leave the art in CGDisney's Divinity wrote:I agree. I know exactly what he said. I agree they shouldn't changed them to 2D, but for different reasons.SWillie! wrote:I don't think that's what he meant.
