DisneyEra wrote: Unfortunately, that's the case! I said it before: Frozen is the most secretive film in the history of the Disney animated canon! I have been following Disney films yearly since Tarzan, & I have NEVER seen a film as closely guarded as Frozen! You go back to November 2009, They had concept art images, even a pic of a fully rendered cgi Rapunzel out. Go back to November of last year, they had fully rendered cgi images of Felix & Vanellope, even the Fix-it Felix arcade game was shown! Here we are, about year from Frozen's release & what do they have: a pooly low-res pencil sketch of Anna & Elsa! The only complete character we have seen is Olaf, & that we could have done without. I guarantee you won't see this with Big Hero 6. Images for that film should be out by Comic Con & D23 next summer, a year & a half before it's release! They clearly have images to show last August, but they showed them only to a payed audience behind closed doors, no camera's allowed! It's clear there's something about Frozen that the executives at Disney are worried about. Question is, how much longer are they gonna keep images of this film away from their loyal fans :(
Don't read too much into that. I doubt Disney are worried about it. The reception from those who did go to Destination D a few months ago were very positive. Blue Sky Disney and Jim Hill (though I've read that he can be unreliable) are also pretty big on it.
That's true, what Disney showed to the crowd at Destination D did get positive feedback, but why behind closed doors & no cameras allowed? What are they trying to hide? Would it kill them to release a concept image of Anna & Kristoff & a image of the snow world it takes place in "I agree keeping the image of Elsa guarded" Save her reveal til later next year! They didn't do this with Tangled & Wreck-it Ralph. We have no idea when anymore images will be released. My guess, late February or mid March of next year.

This highlights what a basket case this movie has become for WDAS. You don't bring a new director on board less than a year before its premiere. I was told last week that Buck had been sacked entirely so I guess they changed their minds with so little time to go before release. Pixar kicked Brenda Chapman off Brave more than 18 months before the film was due to be released.

[John Lasseter] is never there these days. A friend of mine is a producer on an upcoming movie that is in development and he hasn't seen Lasseter since May. Too busy hawking his wine and goofing around in the parks. I really wonder whether he is getting sidelined.

In this variation on the classic children’s tale The Snow Queen, kind-hearted Anna (voiced by Kristen Bell) and her cliffhanging friend Kristoff (whose voice hasn’t been revealed yet) venture into the mountains to find her older sister Elsa (Idina Menzel) — who has the power to control wind and ice.

“This is her sister’s magic. Elsa created this winter storm and ice formation,” says director Chris Buck (Surf’s Up, Tarzan). “We love the power of it, and yet there’s a magical quality to it also.” “We wanted to push it to the extreme,” adds Jennifer Lee (screenwriter of Wreck-It Ralph), who is directing the film with him. “The unnatural quality of the ice emphasizes this is not, you know, sky-made ice, but ice made by someone.” Most likely a not-very-nice person. “Elsa, um, has her moments,” says Buck. “As you would, probably,” Lee adds.

Elsa, you see, was born with this magical control of snow and ice — which adds a little bit of superpower to what might otherwise be a fairy-tale world. If you click on the image to expand, you’ll find snowflake shapes embedded within the ice. “You’ll see that shape throughout,” Buck says. “It’s very subtle, but that’s basically [evidence of] Elsa’s magic. That’s her signature.”

As you may be able to tell from the costumes, there’s a Scandinavian vibe to the movie — which is appropriate, since the author of The Snow Queen source material was Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen. In addition to studying fjords and glaciers, the filmmakers also did research into the relationships between sisters and brothers. Disney hosted a massive “Sibling Summit” for the Frozen team, inviting employees to bring in their brothers or sisters and talk about their rivalries and relationships. “We got a ton of information from that, and it kind of grounds these characters in believability in magical and unbelievable world,” Buck says. It’s fairly common for people to grow up feeling like they live in the shadow of an older brother or sister. “You just summed up my relationship with my sister instead,” joked Lee.

“Anna is a very relatable character to those of us who are not superheroes. She’s wonderfully flawed, but fearless. And wants to do the right thing. Those are the characters I love.” In addition to picking the brains of sisters, they also surveyed guys about their relationships with powerful women. “From the Kristoff angle, we were trying to get at what it’s like to be a guy, trying to understand women — basically,” Lee says with a laugh.

It's obviously not.
Unless it's concept art anyway.

You're defientely right. But, I'm mad that the poster used that image for her. I knew it had to be fake, but I put it down here to be safe.

It's definitively not Anna, believe me (remember that I'm an illustrator and what I use to work on...). ;-p

I don't suppose you're allowed to provide us with some sort of description - even a vague one - of the characters?

You're right Sotiris : I'm not allowed to talk or share anything.
It's kind of frustrating for both I assume. I read this topic regularly and I want to be part of but I can't, sorry!
Well, what I can tell if I stay (very) vague, is that the overall designs and visuals are very and typically disneyish.
It's pretty obviously, so for now, we can stay confident regarding that...

Are you one of the few who have actually seen the final character designs for Frozen?

I've seen your work on Deviantart. I like your drawings of Rapunzel & Vanellope. Can't wait to see your take of Anna.

I figured as much. Could you at least tell us what's Anna's hair color?

Can you answer this at least?:

Earlier in this thread, there was storyboard art of the Snow queen

Storyboard of Elsa and Anna:

Image

but it was shown of her with short hair. Someone else who seen the final look says she has long flowing hair. So is it possible to answer which one the Snow Queen has?

So,will Elsa and Anna's parents be alive throughout the movie or they will be dead before the movie.I have the feeling it will be the former because it seems these days parents being alive is the trend at disney.

I also wonder if Elsa is a composite character of the orginal Snow Queen and Kai.Because they made the journey about Anna finding her sister. Why do I also have a feeling we will learn more about how Elsa got her powers in the first place?
