Yes, but being the CEO he is responsible for those decisions being made. He is in charge of the people that make those decisions, and for most part I'm sure he is aware of the decisions being made.ajmrowland wrote:Yeah, it's not like Iger makes ALL the decisions for the company. It wouldn't be a company otherwise.
Being the CEO of a company isn't an inherited thing. He chose and was chosen to take this job. Beyond all of that, he is the leader of the Walt Disney Company as a whole.
I know that i went on a rant about this on another thread, but saying that Iger can't be blamed for things that have been done in the Disney company on a large scale is just flat out wrong. True, it is never he fault alone, but it is false to think he has no share in blame what-so-ever.
I wish we could get a CEO like the early Eisner era. I thought Iger was going to be like Eisner in the first years, with the purchase of Pixar and The Princess and the Frog and all, but now I feel like he's fast-forwarded to the later Eisner years. Who knows, maybe soon the company will have to bring back the DTV sequels just to get by.
Back on topic.... I'm trying not to have too many high hopes for this film, but I just have a feeling I'll love it no matter what. Hopefully others will like it too

The first-floor crew for Rapunzel is being lifted up by the rising currents of production work that's now starting to hit. ("We're going to be spending a lot of time here to get the move out in time.")

No. I said that already.Disney Duster wrote:The point being, if you just saw this picture, wouldn't you think it was a painting?:

The second picture does have more warmth to it, but the need for detail goes overboard to me. Regardless, I'm not keeping my hopes up that the whole film will look the way one carefully manipulated image looks like (the picture of Rapunzel and Flynn definitely does not look like that--and is much more like the plastic tower and plastic cliff in the background of the other image).

Rapunzel
Plastic, really? I'm being really serious here I don't know how you think it looks plastic at all!
I have a feeling if you didn't see the CGI in motion or no one told you it was CGI, you would think it was a painting or concept art. I just have a feeling if that was the case.
Can we all agree it doesn't look like Toy Story 3 or any other CGI film ever?

Yes, I agree with you. I do not understand how anybody can find the flowers looking like plastic. To me, this was one of the most realistic images in the trailer. The colors appear soft, and almost illuminated.Disney Duster wrote:Plastic, really? I'm being really serious here I don't know how you think it looks plastic at all!

Something else I was just thinking about, (just to keep the hype going.) Perhaps Disney purposesly didn't show the CG characters because they want to "wow" us closer to the release date. If this is true, than we are in for a treat. I wish I could get a high resolution picture of that one second of completed footage from the test trailer, (where she's running with her hair blowing by). I can hardly wait for a full trailer that will (supposedly) play in front of TS3.
I agree with you, Disney Duster and KennethE. Even TRYING to see it plastic-y, I really can't. I mean yes, it's obviously much more detailed than the concept piece... but it has the same exact radiance to it. Soft, lush. Amazing.
And the trailer BETTER play in front of TS3... Disney would officially be the worst marketing company ever if it doesn't. Is it confirmed that NOTHING will be shown in front of Alice? I was hoping that we'd at least get to see the teaser.

Well, it is nice to have feelings to hold onto.Disney Duster wrote:

Sorry that the cliff in the background reminds me of something from Kingdom Hearts 2 and that the tower sticks out like a sore thumb.

Oh yeah I just meant anything Rapun... ahem, Tangled. But yes, I'm very excited to see the new Tron trailer. Although I've never actually seen the first Tron haha... guess I should get on that.blackcauldron85 wrote:Do you mean anything Rapunzel or just any Disney trailers? I just don't get why Disney doesn't market their own films more heavily. I remember before PatF came out, I kept seeing movies and thinking, "okay, we'll definitely see the PatF trailer in front of THIS one!!".... and then, nothing. Like Toy Story 1 & 2 in 3D for example. That was only a couple months before Frog and we only got the teaser for TS3! I think that's just stupid.

There's a difference between being a focal point and standing apart (badly) from the background.ajmrowland wrote:Maybe because the Tower's meant to have your attention?![]()
You're right. At least the KH games don't pretend to be more than they are.And KH2's texturing is a lot worse. Just because this is soft does not mean it should be degraded to PS2 quality.
Sorry for those looking for more "news"--just replying to those who replied to me.

Thanks I was actually about to ask about this because I was getting confused with all the trailers conversations.MattDean wrote:Here's a short teaser trailer:

Matt:)
Now this maybe cuz the video quality seems rough but why does the teaser come off looking like an opening to some high pixelated computer game?

I'm sorry, I just don't understand how you're comparing this art:

to this art:

They aren't even on the same level. I mean, not trying to be rude, but I honestly can't even come close to understanding how you are comparing them. No video game art has ever come close to the shot from the teaser. Am I not seeing something?

Your opinion is, but it's also It's one I agree with.enigmawing wrote:I like what I'm seeing in the teaser, it has a nice feeling to it. I don't think anything stands out wrong or comes off as plastic. Of course my opinion is as subjective as anyone else's.
And stylistically that KH image and the trailer differ, not just in quality of graphics.
