Well the thing with this movie is that its hard to believe it ends right before the first movie. I would say it ends atleast 1-2 years before the movie, so the tv show fits perfectly in between just with very minor problems (mostly Ariel and Flounders first encounter which is better in the show). And ya they need to release LM series. Can you imagine how fun it would be to watch all of these in a row? For me atleast it would be interesting.Juuchan17 wrote:YAY, just got my copy a couple of hours ago! (Preordered @ Best Buy, got a cool-looking souvenir cup that is pretty much the DVD cover but all 3-d-like and such . . . but meh, it was FREE with purchase of the DVD!)
I'll probably be watching it in a bit, but boy am I excited to see it! So far, I like the mixed reviews that I've read, but I still think I'll be able to enjoy this, despite the whole TV series/original TLM canon discontinuity (although I do prefer the TV series plots as a better prequel prior to TLM:AB . . . why can't they just release that whole series on DVD?). Heck, it ain't perfect, but it's all Disney magic.

This is a question I raised in the International DVD section of the forum. I'd really like to see The Little Mermaid TV series released onto DVD. Do you think it'll happen?Atlantis wrote:And ya they need to release LM series. Can you imagine how fun it would be to watch all of these in a row? For me atleast it would be interesting.

I doubt it. Atleast not anytime soon. If they wanted to release the show this wouldve been the perfect time for them to do so. With the PE edition coming out along with the new movie and rerelease of LM2, The LM franchise is at its best time right now.Nick Bryant wrote:This is a question I raised in the International DVD section of the forum. Hmm, that's a thought, but it sounds believable to me (just finished watching it a while ago). Besides, anyone who thinks that the first movie starts directly after the ending of TLM:AB is crazy.Atlantis wrote:Well the thing with this movie is that its hard to believe it ends right before the first movie. And yeah, the AB Flounder was way too much fun, kinda like Thumper was in Bambi II. However, his personality change would make sense if there was a couple of years in between AB and TLM.
But I had fun watching it - sure, it wasn't perfect, but it was a lovely tale of family, love and the appreciation for music. And I did like that one scene near the turning point of the film that Dinsey's Divinity mentioned. Perfect dialogue and music for the occaision. Very nice job, Disney.

Best Buy gave me The Little Mermaid "Ariel's Beginning&
It's like this. I pre-ordered The Little Mermaid "Ariel's Beginning" online at Best Buy and had them send it to my local Best Buy store. When you order online at Best Buy you can either have them mail it to you or have them send it to a Best Buy store. It was $19.99 when I ordered it online and when I went to pick it up in store price was $15.99. When you have them send it to a store, they don't charge you until you pick it up. If the in store price is lower than the online price, you get it for the in store price. Also since I had to wait before they could send someone over to sell me my dvd, they took off another $10. This taking off $10 if you have to wait extra time is something they do if you order online. So after all this it was $5.99 for a brand new factory sealed copy of The Little Mermaid "Ariel's Beginning"
So I would say that I got a very good deal

You're fine--it's like that on mine, too. It's supposed to be through the point of view of the eel, I think.I have a question for everybody:
in th eSneak Peek, when Maina says "Come to Mummy!" to her eels (she's wearing the pink costume) it is in normal color. On my DVD, it is tinted yellow. Is it like that on everybody else's too, or is it a flaw in my dvd????????

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"

eh, just watched this...honestly I liked the first half better then the second half...Marina just got downright lame in the last half, she was a funny character though, especially when she first gets the promotion. "I don't know but she scares me!" and I loved the reinactment with scuttle!
I just wish it had more of a connection to the first movie, its really distant. I was pretty much right, they just ripped the characters from the original and made there own little story with them. And omg Flounder was waaaaay out of character! He was so annoying! Not to say Parker Goris is bad, but his lines were! My favorite scenes were probably the ones involving the sisters. It was nice to see them interact and interrogate Ariel with interest lol, they were pretty quirky too, and a lot prettier then in the original.
The way I score is generally something like this for DTV's.
Example: Cinderella III being an A+ for a DTV but as a feature film it gets like a C-.
SO since I thought AB was C+ material for a DTV it gets a big F+ compared to the original...(the + is for the returning cast, animation, and music, and because Ariel was generally the same) It was animated pretty good though, a HECK of a lot better then TLMII. It's an F because the storyline was kinda lame, no connection to the first movie at all, it just felt really disconnected the whole time, since it only takes place not too far from the original. I didn't have a problem with Ursula not being in it, because as Siren said before it wouldn't make sense for Ariel to go see Ursula so soon after this movie. But c'mon at least make SOME mention of her...geeze. So all in all, I think it's worth a rental...or a buy if your a major Ariel fan, since her character is spot on thankfully.
Now I'm off to watch the original to feel more satisfied lol.

Mine? I'm so honored. lol May I ask why?Old Fish Tale wrote:I can't wait for your review, Vermin Friends!
Unfortunately, I can't have it.
I'll avoid reading other people's reviews for now, but I did read that interview with Jodi Benson while I was at school, and it really touched my heart how she fought to keep Ariel in-character, and how much she knows the fans care about her.

Yeah,it's on my DVD as well,it's because that scene is from the eels's point of view.gumby17 wrote:I have a question for everybody:
